@VapCap When were you n Seattle?! Is Dynavap going to have a presence in hempfest? Are local shops finally going to carry your stuff? A meet and greet at a shop would have been so cool, So many questions :) Also, I finally printed one of the Altoids Vapcap holders, it works nice. Just PM me if you want the STL.

I have two VCs - an M and an Omni. The cap that came with the M cools much faster than the cap that came with the Omni. This morning I decided to try an experiment swapping the caps. I tested each VC empty with no draw for 3 heat cycles and timed the total cool down (heat to click, start timer to cool down click, pause timer, repeat 2 more times). My original cap (came with M) gives 1:30 of cool down - about 30 seconds per heating. The cap that came with the Omni gives 2:20 of cool down - about 46 seconds per heating. The tip that it's wrapped around didn't matter - the numbers were within 1-2s when I swapped just the caps and repeated the tests. Anyone else with multiple VC's have a sense of what the average time to cool down is?

Is there so much difference in the M and the Omni?

I dont have either yet, considering to biy the M, just wanted to ask you if the ti Omni much better than the M?

Im a vaper, im sire i can manage either of the two, but im very curios.
Unfortunatelly in my country it is not possible to buy it, so I can not take any of them in my hands before ordering it. Everithing i know about them comes from internet.
Probably i will stick with the M because of the price, im just very very curious and intrested in the differences between the two.

were you pulling air through them while waiting for the click. Thermal transfer to the air should be quite different.

@Vapoleon Here are my thoughts about your question on the M and the Omnivap. These are the only two models I have any experience with, others here will know more than I do on this subject. This is only my experience and may be very different to yours. I think your instincts are correct, here's why:

If you don't have either one, I would start with the M, for the price it's a no-brainer. If you like it then you can the Omni later without risking the larger outlay of cash. As the entry-level model, the M doesn't have the tolerances and precision of design & machining that the omnivap does. The omni is that much better. But the M works upon the same principles as the omni and it works very well. It's made of Surgical SS, so the quality of the materials used is quite high. I used one for months before I was able to get the omni, and I'll always have fond memories. It's like my first bike if that makes sense? :mental:

If you decide that you love vapcaps and you want another, then spend more. I can pretty much guarantee that you will appreciate the upgrade. It's not about bling/flash the omni actually upgrades the experience and performance for me personally. I use the omnivap mostly day to day but when my health improves I plan to use the M for traveling. They're not very big, these vapcaps, and it would absolutely ruin a holiday if I were to lose my beloved omni. I could gift the M to an acquaintance and pick up a new one without another thought.

The middle ground maybe getting a Ti tip?

As the entry-level model, the M doesn't have the tolerances and precision of design & machining that the omnivap does.
All that precision and extra machine work plus more air control with the condenser is part of the cost. :2c:
And you can take middle steps. Or XL and get a Ti tip for your M. :freak: Didn't someone give that a name BTW? :haw:

Do think of the condenserless M as the outdoor vape. If I wanted to get finicky about weight and the advantages of an SS tip.

This morning I decided to try an experiment swapping the caps.
Worth trying out. Another consideration is how well either fit on a tip. An IH would get more refined results perhaps? :hmm: So do you think the tips store heat about the same?

Do think there need to be more controls to get a rough impression as to which cap heats/cools under near equal heat conditions. :2c: Also think the caps and tips become tempered over time. But that is just a hunch on my part. Any thoughts?

No two Caps are the same but as long as they're not wildly different it's not so important as long as you wait for both COOL DOWN clicks. You get used to them. The times quoted by @bizwaxzion for his new Cap seems way too long. It must be hard for DV to do QC tests on all caps - obviously they can't use torches..... maybe an IH heater? Do they scorch the caps at all?

Trying to identify my Ti Omni. So I have the Q3 2016. What version/s of tip came with that? They all are nice, But I feel like a lucky duck to have a version 2 non XL. Notice how it tapers near where the tip is inserted and how narrow the stem is. :cool:The tip feels more solid with the body when the condenser is in choke (?) mode. This design choice is what I would want in a fully personally designed stem.

OK, make me feel envious. :p

Wow, thought the faceted stem would be easier to find the hole in the dark.

Even though it's difficult for me to find the M carb by feel, it's impossible for me on the Omni stem without being able to see it, probably because I can't feel any difference between the faceting & the hole. Maybe the diamond shape further decreases differentiation.

Do love the texture and carb placement of the V2 a lot.

Here's a couple of pics of putting the Omni stem on the M condenser; one right-side-up & the other upside do down. You can see in the right-side-up pic how close the carb is to the top of the stem.

Case and point. The prosecution has no further questions. Your honer. :sherlock:

Hey @Summer I just reversed my M! Now my M stem is tapered at the tip, Just like my Omni. All the cool hip kids remove the condensers from there M and put the tip on the MP end. :freak: Vape Naysh Y'all.

Just cause you call it the Omni stem does not in fact make it an Omni stem. :p
It is a faceted Ti Stem.
With your M tip on it, there is nothing Omni about it. I was just clearing up info when I was splitting hairs earlier cause lots of new people are looking for info. Your driving home this Omni Stem thing like I was in the wrong. Sure it is offered on the Omni, love mine, but off the Omni condenser it becomes what it is. :peace:

An omni and it's twin. Gift for a friend...

True and the carb placement makes it also 'what it is'. I like what it is and my M will never be the same. :)

Enough for today. Time for a Vong break!!!

I like how this was routered out and has 2 spaces. The sliding wedges. What is the black cylinder @Boden ?

Like the twin torch with the magnetic surface for outside. If I had a cooling magnet on both sides of my stash, I could use my torch while holding my stash and still have a cooling mag.

Also, I finally printed one of the Altoids Vapcap holders, it works nice. Just PM me if you want the STL.
I like that you took a container that works for you and then printed the insert. Have a pelican case that is a candidate for that if I get serious.

It must be hard for DV to do QC tests on all caps - obviously they can't use torches..... maybe an IH heater?
Yea, it would get more of a read on the surface area as opposed to trying to control a flame on each heat up, is part of my reasoning. More of the mass of the cap would be taken into account with a more controlled heat source. :2c:

I was thinking that a simple 14 or 19mm male glass adapter with an inch or two long thick glass cylindrical stem end would make a fantastic vong.:science::2c:

Thank you! Because of your post I managed to catch the end of that live session.
Cool! I updated the link to the full video of the broadcast. Reload and watch it all if you like. I don't want to spoil too much. But he does the full round with the vapcaps and talks about designing his own vape.

I caught his last Vapcap session and the induction heater chat. I'll definitely check out the full session tomorrow after a sleep cycle. Looking forward to his next live stream. He really seems to be enjoying the VapCap.

No, and the VC's were empty. I heated to the click and hit the timer. Held the VC until both cool down clicks and paused the timer. Did this two more times. I put both VC's on magnets for a couple minutes and swapped just the caps before repeating the tests. The intervals followed the caps. I experience the same thing in use which is why I finally put a stopwatch on them. I'm going to get a third cap for a tie breaker.
