I had a DynaDIY day today . . . Get ready for pictures

I own two Dynavaps. Both are 'M' + Ti-Tip. It's my fave combo by far!
However, since one of the Stems was changed out for the gorgeous Sandblasted M Stem, I have gone off the normal shinny M Stem. . . .

So I made myself a sandblaster!! (I already have and air compressor) never done it before, but. . .

It came out Great! Can you tell which 'M' is the Official sb'M' and which is my sandblasted 'M' ?????

Now I was looking for other things to sandblast . . . . . .
The metal housing of my lighter. . . . .

Sand-Blasted Dyna-tube anyone? It actually made them look a lot lot nicer I reckon. The bottom green tube is still original. . .

Some good sand-blasting fun:tup:

Afterwards I made a couple of quick Dynastashes for friends (at the bottom of the second pic), but then I made this. . . . .
Can you guess what it is?

Omnivap TI XL should be with me on monday! just a quick question, i carb my M until the cooldown click, with the Omnivap is any feathering of the carb required as it has the adjustable airflow? Thanks in advance guys

I've been adulterating Nonovongs again.
You are my favorite adulterer!

would you recommend a vapcap to a medical user ?
Absolutely!

How do you take care of this exotic wood to stay strong and good looking ?
I treat my wood bodies nd stems like I do any other wood in my home. I keep it clean and conditioned.

When ever I clean my Vapcap (the tip and the condenser are the parts that need cleaning as they are the parts that are exposed to vapor), the wood midsection is rubbed down and buffed with a tiny amount of wood conditioner.

You can buy wood conditioner from Dynavap or @phattpiggie or @Ed's TnT. You can make your own combination or simply use a bit of hemp or coconut oil or any commercial wood conditioner. Keep your wood moisturizer and it will reward with years of lusterous service.

As with most answers, it depends. It depends on your technique.

The Omni can be set to your preferable level of air flow. When set, you can use the omni without any carb action. But if our like to feather carb, you can set the Omni just shy of your preference, then feather the carb near the end of your toke. Feathering the Omni is not required, but you're the driver and can feather if you want to.

I have a new vapcap on the way, and have most of my questions answered by reading the best of and searching/skimming this thread.

Except one, I haven't seen it mentioned, during cleaning are we supposed to clean the cap? Specifically the inside of the cap?

Would like to see your unit in an enclosure, make the power supply external to the IH, sothe form factor is minimal, with only a wire-to-pocket.

The smaller, the better.

I don't follow.

Pictured is a **tiny** non-portable unit, with a 2.5mm female to which you connect power from an AC/DC converter 12 volt adapter.

Entirely inside a small uxcell enclosure, already, is the wiring from the female to the FET and the switch, and thereby to the induction heater board, which is external to the enclosure.

If I make a battery powered portable version, as discussed, I would also keep the batteries external from the enclosure. (Admittedly, I would not expect it to be very durable, on the go, with nothing protecting the IH).

Heat kills lithium ion batteries, and shortens the lifetime of a lot of electronics. That's why I don't understand designs that put the batteries, the IH and the heating coil inside an enclosure, which mandates limiting the activation time, and probably a momentary activation style pressure switch. That means two handed operation, or creating a switch with a material like cork activated by pressure on the inserted DynaVap. I don't like that option, either, because you benefit from flexible insertion depth and even insert/withdraw/insert when for example microdosing with the internal screen configured at 1/3rd.

Can leave this baby on several minutes. Yes, the coil eventually gets hot, but well within the specification of normal usage for the IH. Nothing else heats up, save a glass tube optionally inside the coil.

EDIT: you mean the IH (board only not coil) should be enclosed? Possible.

Am hoping for a IH which can be carried in the pocket. At present the smallest portable is dictated by
the module itself.

Given that, the smallest configuration with a battery externally corded would make for an IH that is "portable". with the coil cut, or bent to fit a casing.

Just idle thoughts of a portable IH wisher.

But, I bet a smaller module can be designed.:hmm:

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Yes, @ataxian. If I were you I would go w/ the $40 M & the $16.00 Dyna Basic Kit so you'll have extra parts & the fat mp. So, it's only $56 in total. It's a great deal.
That is the all in one package. Guess you would use the butter on your Dynavap? Not so much with your 'M'.

Last sale was my first into VC territory. This was my purchase.
2 'M's with the two types of extra rings and a pack of SS screens and a Vertigo triple torch. 2 Fat mouthpieces. $ 100.83
I really liked having 2 'M's as a beginner.

@ataxian Surprised you haven't tried a VC yet.

So I have graveyard-ed my OG VC's leftover cap and screen. Good vape while it lasted.
LSS. I will have 4 bullets. and 2 'M' bodies.

I own two Dynavaps. Both are 'M' + Ti-Tip. It's my fave combo by far!
Glad to hear I didn't throw my money away and went for that option. I know from cookware how Ti heats differently than SS. Wasn't sure if that would necessarily have an impact.
This sale
2 Titanium Tip (sale price $ 32 each) $ 64.00
The Cap $ 16 1 $ 16.00
Total $ 80.00

I was going to get one?

My wife bought me a couple of OZ'S and a couple grams of SHATTER and more books?

I bought two more pieces of glass this morning?

I think I missed the sale?

Maybe one day?

Love to try one.

I have been plugged-in these daz's!

CIVILIZED one day!

MAYBE?

If you mean DynaVap the sale is still on. I think to tomorrow Midnight (CST).

I'm trying real hard to forget that. There are still things there that want to live here.

Whew, it looks like they have no XL DynaStashes on sale. That was a close one...
It's worse, it goes all the way through Cyber Monday till 11:59 pm CDT. :bang:
Long way to go. I keep talking myself in and out of stuff. :uhoh:

I'm not familiar enough with the risk of lithium ion battery rupture, heat cascade or explosion during rapid discharge, to feel comfortable with the battery pack in my pocket while powering an induction heater. Maybe on a belt.

We don't want any accidents down there !

As Mae West once said ;) Is that a lithium ion fire in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?

Gowon, you need (at least) a couple!
Why go later, for $40, + no shipping ( although I do see why you
are hesitating, a PIH would make for a fire free experience ).

Perhaps @Pipes can provide a fire
free fix.....

I would however go with your instinct. You know best.

ClearBlueLou

unbearably light in the being....
I never mentioned my username when interacting with them but somehow Dynavap knows who I am over here...
They're smart like that, it seems

Snackmaster, a Dynamagnet and an Altoids tin make a good stand and heasink. Pulls heat out of the cap, not so much out of the tip. Put coins in the tin. Doc

Once again, Doc speaks plain truth: I like my Dynastache just fine, but it's not necessary. get the magnet, find an altoids tin (or 'stache wax tin) and you are good to go. I've given them to the folks I've given Ms to.

Heat transfers out via cap/magnet MUCH faster than air-cooling.
and handling hot things thru a kleenex will burn you - or waste kleenex

I just picked up this one, tiny little thing, stands as tall as a pint glass;). It’s a 14mm joint so u’ll have to use the fatty mp or an adapter.
Just ordered this, or something very like this I hope - $29 shipped from China. It'll be a miracle if it arrives intact! Now I need to learn a whole new set of skills, plus terminology... big tyres? perc? Thanks for the recommendation @almost there
