@davesmith - I'm in the UK and have always used my Visa debit card to pay Dynavap without any problem.

Strange mine was declined. A friend came over and we ordered a m starter kit. I'm gonna take the stash and he's gonna have the M. I'm pretty happy with my og glassy.

But now I know my card SHOULD work maybe the temptation will be too great! Do I grab an m? Or just a ti tip?!? I have to keep telling myself that I don't NEED these things. I'd like all sorts but even the stash is a nice treat. Oh well let's see if I make it through the weekend.....

I would take the non-argument one step further and suggest that inductive heating is not an external heat source. It's more like a power supply.

On a more serious note, induction heats titanium by a double digit fraction of its capacity to heat steel, I think. I note more heat in the titanium tip and stem than with butane.

That adds up to more conduction, less convection, using induction.

Ordered just the M, without any kit or replacement parts. I could use RAW rolling paper pieces instead of degummed hemp fiber?..
gonna use this mediocre torch I got months ago for dabbing. running out of butane..

Male, female, 10mm, 14mm ...... I honestly have no idea about glass.
A bowl/nail/vape has a male attachment that goes into the female attachment of a downstem or piece. An AAA battery is around 10mm in diameter. My glass nail's male attachment tapers from 14mm down to 12mm

The AAA battery goes through a 14mm downstem (female) barely sticking out, and more if I push it. so probably all the way through with a little resistance. It would probably just fall right through an 18mm one, and not go much into a 10mm one.

@Willy you need to use [ img ] tags. Or with the picture button when you make a post, you need to put a direct link to an image on it (likely ending in .jpg or .png). please don't use photobucket (it's slow, ad ridden, the images won't work), most people seem to be using https://imgur.com

So @Mr.Sifter & @ataxian, did you both order an M?

@funkyzio, go w/ the M. If you like it you can get the Omni during their next sale, assumably on 4/20/18.

@davesmith, you can either order the M now or partake in your friend's &, if you like it, you can order next sale, assumably on 4/20/18.

@asdf420, I would think it's not gonna be porous enough, but try. Since you didn't order any replacement parts, be very careful that you don't lose the x-rings & screen while cleaning.

@garth vaper, I washed my initially with soap & water & went over all the internal surfaces w/ a q-tip &, then, rinsed super well with water at full pressure.

@stark1, are the clothes just hanging out to dry/airing out or are you having a garage sale & that's why you're hiding up on the roof. :D

My suggestion to all 1st timers is that while you're waiting:

1) watch dynavap's videos on youtube

2) read through the Best Of vapcap thread

3) start reading through this thread

I really want to get a VapCap with a titanium tip mouthpiece so I am trying to decide between the
Omni Titanium vs the Omni Titanium XL. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yes, @ataxian. If I were you I would go w/ the $40 M & the $16.00 Dyna Basic Kit so you'll have extra parts & the fat mp. So, it's only $56 in total. It's a great deal.

@puffykat, only difference is length: reg is 92mm & XL is 109mm -- not even a significant diff. in length to make a difference in vapor cooling. Go with the XL unless you have tiny, tiny hands or if you like the shortness of a joint. I happen to like the extra length & it's only $8 more. And realistically, the difference in size is only 17mm which is nothing.

No way is a rolling paper laid on a CCD screen going to work as a particulate filter. It will restrict airflow. But by all means, give it a go and report back with your findings, I'm wrong all the time. Good luck!

@puffykat I just ordered the Omni XL, I'm not a big guy at all. But I have been fortunate enough to have spent almost 2 months with the M which is standard size. Before holding it in my hand, I would have asked your question. The VapCaps are tiny, king size cigarette size. Even after reading this thread and folks saying "smaller than expected" & "wow, that's tiny" (no she said jokes please :haw:) it didn't sink in. So even though I may be vertically challenged, I have ZERO concern about the extra mm of the XL. I think either one is going to make you ridiculously happy. It's $8? I say you're worth it! I'd listen to @Summer her success rate with advice given is pretty high, she's saved lives on this thread. Well, maybe not lives but tears of frustration? Sure. And she's patient, whereas most of us are patients. So that's nice. :D

I managed to avoid the fallacious temptation to order MOAR because of the sale; I did order a nonavong stem for my mother's M (to go along with some glass, for Christmas), and a new style nonavong body for my Omni - mine doesn't seal perfectly with the joint on my beaker, basically making contact slightly above where the long flats begin. I think the new shape will solve this problem. Plus it was on sale...

Free shipping to Canada was really a great addition to the sale, thanks George.

I wonder where I could find some ~14mm tonkin bamboo without it being stupidly expensive/in bulk? I don't think it'd be a problem w/ silicosis or whatever if it's well finished on the inside. I want to make a bamboo vong :D
an advantage of a heat-insulating body is that it won't be hot to the touch after a long session

Grabbed one of the M starter kits for my future FIL for Xmas during the sale, along with a fat MP since I know he has a few WP. He stopped combusting recently but only has a pen for prefilled carts for now. One of the cocobolo nonavong bodies just happened to fall into the cart along the way to checkout, funny how that happens during the Black Friday sale. Ordered at 4am and just got the shipping notification, that was quick!

Happy belated Thanksgiving to the thread and the @VapCap crew.

My sale has started and XL cases are now available in my store!

I also put the first coat of finish on some of the smaller cases. I'm really digging the maple panels with spalting in them, I may have to find some more pieces like them.

Thanks everyone for your replies! Does anyone know if he uses FSC Certified wood for his Dynastash boxes?

How about pics of your DIY? We love pictures!

Looks like hosted images only here?

So I can't upload one?

In my DIY, i decided I wanted the induction entirely open to the air, so I could activate it with a switch, not a continuous hold button, and have the freedom to leave it in during a session. Single hands operation possible. Also I didn't want the vap responsible for putting pressure on a switch inside the coil.

SoI turned @Pipes design inside out, so to speak. I used a very small project box, about two inches be three inches by 1 1/2 inches --smaller than the induction component-- for just the fet, switch and wiring, with AC female input.

The induction board (which has a built in led) and the coil are entirely on the outside. Coil warms up but much less than in an an enclosure. And it can safely be left on several minutes with the coil only modestly hot.

I've found the freedom to move the vap cap and control depth very useful for microdosing and to make subtle adjustments over several click cycles.

U
Would you mind saying what the parts came to total from Amazon? My only issue is my hand is fucked from some nerve related crap, so waiting on neurologist.
Was thinking maybe I could try assembling one depending on part cost.

Thanks!!! ✌️

Xcell box about $10
Marine toggle switch $5
FET $9
Induction heater $14
$10 AC to DC adapter
Some female 2.5mm sockets for $7
Some 18 gauge wire for $12

So about $65 with a lot of wire and female sockets left over. I used a soldering iron, solder and a glue gun on hand.
I had some glass tubes that fit the inside diameter of the coil and outside diameter of the vapcap. (Not really necessary).

 @Mr.Sifter   The vc is perfect for microdosing. 1/2 of the members use it strictly for microdosing. Just put enough herb in the bowl for a couple of hits. And stop thinking so you don't overthink. Rather, while waiting for delivery, peruse this thread for those posts that discuss packing the bowl, grind used, heating technique & inhalation style.

@analytika, you can upload an image to your imgur account for posting. Google 'how to to upload to imgur' & select the device you're uploading from.

@Alex3oe, How did your Solo get confiscated? :o

Although not a vong, here's a pic of a custom @phattpiggie acrylic flared 14mm stem w/ the orbiter. There may be a pic of a vong w/ the orbiter somewhere.

@paehtod, very nice. Here's some @Winegums' stash porn for a vong. I often think it would be nice to have a custom one made to accommodate a vc on each side.

@Alex3oe Yep, two of the finest people in these parts just said a few pages back they love the orbier paired with their VCs, with and without water. If they said it, I believe it is so. Not sure if they're using vongs?

@paehtod I got one too! Didn't know they sold out already. Congratulations, the grain of yours is stunning.

@Summer Where in the world do you find the energy? I see you helping people out in threads all over this place! We're going to have to get you a concierge badge. You're amazing, thank you!
