It IS huge for a portable and an ugly piece of plastic and stealth in no way.....however it may work

A vape that fits in the palm of my hand is not huge. It's actually not plastic and I agree it is not a stealthy unit. That's what my hopper is for. I don't have any change.

The ghost looks great on paper, the bulky size ain't great, looks like it gets really hot too.

There's a Youtube on the Ghost MV1 by a guy who goes by "420 Vapezone". It's easy to find. It's long and raw, but really looks at the details of the design. And I have to say that it seems like it should have spent more time on paper. The execution in three dimensions seems full of function issues.

Off-topic: he's a member on here. And he's vocal in the Ghost MV-1 thread which is where this should go. His review is what completely convinced me not to even consider to the Ghost MV-1

Mine has lasted over a year but I wouldn't say it's under heavy usage. I don't really vape as much as I used to so my tolerance is low. A bowl in the hopper will be good for a while for me. I now use it about twice a day sometimes once. In the past it saw a lot of usage. I used it through water a lot but always made sure there was no backpressure, so I would take the hopper out while in clearing it so the vapor wouldn't shoot out the air intake holes. That happened to me only once and I never allowed it to happen afterwards.

Most people I know have two, because they use it pretty heavily and they expect one to be "in the shop" from time to time. That says it all, no?

With that understanding, I think the technology is perfectly sound, but the development process MUST involve constant compromise. It's possible that if the device were just a mm larger overall they could use different components that would be more reliable - but people want it stealthy. Maybe a more quality-tested circuit board would result in fewer RMAs - but people want it cheaper. On and on, you see where it goes. My thoughts always turn to what v2.0 is going to look like.

Without knowing how you define heavy use, I think the answer is yes

What's up with the charger? Are you asking if it will be worth the price they ask? Otherwise I imagine it's up to the task, they wouldn't release something that doesn't work properly, nope?

The charger is very stylish that’s for sure. But they should have focused on releasing the leather sleeves or metal cases.

I, for one, won’t buy the charger as the nitecore works perfect for me and charges 4 batteries at once. Sure it’s not as portable but I generally travel with 3 batteries so not that big of a deal.

They have sold it, and people are still waiting to get them, me included.
So they create new products when the ones already released are not "released" but sell they shall.
Battery charger is cool and all, and they will prob sell them and get the money they expect.

So on another subject, my friend has gotten 2 hoppers back from warranty claim, both with the new heater.
We sat down yesterday to test them out, and to our suprise the new heaters even on 5 is not roasting the herb as good as the old heater did.
At best the ABV was dark brown ish her and there... Or maybe we are just used to the even extract from dynavap last few weeks?

Anyone else feel like the new heater is not heating evenly as the older version?

Wow, yeah, I have to say, aesthetically the charger looks really nice. I probably would have bought one with my grasshopper when I initially bought it. But it doesn't feel like it's worth $60 for me, now. It's not like I go through batteries that fast. I suppose if I was consuming all day every day it could be useful.

I've always thought the best way to charge batteries is to go slow and now MV1 has a fast charger out and soon HL will have their own. will this fast charging have some negative impact on the longevity of the battery as I was believing all along?

No more payment in advance 'til I get my friggin' sleeve. It's now been over 13 months since I got the Hopper that was supposed to come with a sleeve.

@almost there: yes that is mostly correct. Manufacturers recommend to charge at 0.8C, and anything between 0.5C and 1C is deemed perfectly safe.

That being said, high power cells that are relatively recent can handle up to 2C without any problem (that's the case for instance with Li-Po packs used for RC models)

But until recently I always assumed that, say for a 2000mAh cell, 1C charging equals 2A, which is already way more than what your average 18650 charger outputs (some are 0.5A, some 0.8A, some 1A, and "fast ones" can go to 2A) That's the rule of thumb I always used with my RC packs and they seem to be perfectly happy that way. But apparently there's some controversy about that particular interpretation of what 1C means.

I think the GH cells are of lower capacity, I forgot the exact figure, but using that rule say a 800mAh cell would only take 0.8A to be charged at 1C. A 1300mAh 1.3A etc.

Anyway, if you can afford slower charging time, it's always better. Especially if the room temperature is low: Li-Ion dislike cold a lot. The colder the slower you should charge. For more in-depth information I invite you to read this article:

Vaping half a load every 2 hours I'd consider to be light usage. If I'm vaping I could easily have 5+ chambers.
But I've been daily vaping for basically 36 months with only a couple of very short tolerance breaks... So when that's the case you can expect services around the corner, but I still get months of use generally. When it was the sole vape I was using, up until about 2 months ago, I definitely worked the things hard and it was a great time.

Last night I tipped my bubbler over with the GH still in it.... Scraping out a wet chamber, I quickly took the battery out and was considering putting the unit in a sealed container of rice (to absorb moisture, dry out the internals).
However instead, I dried it as best I could with microfibre, and tried to rid as much water I could with air pressure, which seemed to be effective. Then I turned it to T1 replaced the battery and turned it on, and immediately started toking on an empty chamber sans mouthpiece.
Slight sizzle as the remaining water boiled away. I kept inhaling to slow the temp rise and voila!

They may not be reliable, but they are durable. They can sustain drops from considerable height, water in the gills, alcohol all through the device and when they're working, they are my personal favourite portable vape, all things considered.

Maybe you can compare it to something that you consider huge for perspective

I mean, it's comparable to the Mighty in size. Barely pocketable. Compared to the GH the MV1 is massive, expensive, takes forever to charge. There's a 120 premium just to get a spare battery and a cheap fast charger.

If you've got the coin and the desire, go for gold, but I can't help but feel money would see better value being spent elsewhere.

If you want a GH/Mighty hybrid, then it's pretty cool.
How would you compare the potency between the MV1 and the GH?

It will need a 36W USBc adapter to fast charge to the maximum.
This is an in-house charger, so unlike fast charging on a Nitecore, the algorithm is custom to the GHBs.
I'm a little curious to see how many cycles it allows for the cells, but the inevitable degredation might be worth the convenience.
I bet it weighs quite a bit. I'm still pretty content with 3 spare batteris, a battery bank and Xtar MC2 combo. Though it takes about an hour to charge from any USB outlet - with that many batteries and one or two people, it's basically good enough to never go without a charge
