The HydroBrick by Sticky Brick Labs

I can vouch 100% they fit in the vaporizer, going to try one out in a few minutes for function!

Update: work surprisingly well! Pack it lightly and turn it frequently would be my advice. So satisfying to not see the screen mangled after a session.

Thanks for testing that out! Did you place the pod on top of the screen, or remove the screen from the chamber?
Also - did this add anything/improve your experience in any way? I like the pre-fill and not deal with it during a session idea, but if it's just an additional step and doesn't add anything to the experience then it's not for me.

@Vapor_Eyes a hydrotube is a future purchase for sure, right now it's great to be using my old bong again.

@CarouselOnFire for how cheap the capsules are it's worth it to try them yourself. It improved the experience in that clean up was much less and easier. I will continue using them so that's a plus in my books. I used them on top of the original screen and I'm glad I did as it still caught some of the plant matter that escaped the capsule.

In regards to dabbing, how is the dabbing experience/quality using a nail to the intake adapter any different than the usual way with nail and water rig directly connected?
The experience is mainly for an option to give in case one doesn't have a rig or just wants to have an option to use their device in the manner.
For example if you have hydrotubes you want to use concentrates with, using this set up accomplishes that.

Been a minute since I posted here , mostly due to doing lots of dabs and using my other vapes. The Brick has waited patiently.Couple of bowls of Blue Dream and listening to hip hop.

My dry mp finally made it to me so after hitting the maxx with just the whip to my mouth for over a week I feel I can share some more of my thoughts on the Maxx

First off- it has a very cool lab/nerd quality to it, the vial, metal stir stick, beaker like glass give it a very scientific feel. I love just walking around my house cradling it like I'm about to perform some science experiment(which I arguably am)
2-Using the dry mp I no longer have to borrow Jr's glass, the straight in take works beautifully when not dealing with the drag from the whip. Now I know why no one mentions doing it with the angled in take
3-it's much harder than @Slow Draw McGraw 's videos. All the videos I've watched shows a very quick draw and doesn't seem like SDM was sucking in so much volume but the clouds are so dense. As for me, I find I pull in huge lungfuls of air to the point I choke and my clouds are good at best. The clouds start very slow and thin for me where as I see all the vets get immediate dense clouds from the moment they bring the torch down. I use the cork of course, .15ish medium grind, and the prescribed 3/4 to 1in flame. Oh, and I go by @Vapor_Eyes' technique for inhaling(I try to at least). I just have to learn what "slow" and "fast" inhales mean bc those terms are very subjective, my slow may not be slow enough and my fast may be too fast I'm thinking.

Looking forward to more experiments.

I have developed my technique where I don't have to draw for too long. This could be that my flame is higher than alot of people that I've seen. Also I have my draw speed down. It also can depend on your water piece. Something with more "chug" will build up vapor as opposed to somethig more free flowing will not milk up as much and let you inhale vapor as it passes. So a chuggy piece you can go faster in the draw and a peice with more flow, draw slower. I hope that makes sense. Not even sure you mentioned a water tool, but just in case you wanted to know.
Definitely try a slower draw and check your flame level. Let us know how it goes!

well I'm just using the dry mp, I'm assuming it's the same method?

I edited after I realize you didn't mention a water tool.
Slow your draw down and turn your flame up a little, not too high tho. But I have noticed my flame is higher than most. That is exactly how I get quick vapor. Keep in mind this will get you higher temp vapor and kill the load faster. When I use a low flame, it takes longer to get vapor and I barely roast my material.

Great advice @Slow Draw McGraw!

@almost there: I also use a stronger flame than recommended for my "fast draw" technique. Perhaps that's not the best name for it because I actually start out pretty slow until the vapor starts to form, then I increase my draw speed. Perhaps I should call it the "takeoff" or "ramp" method.

The amount of increase to your draw speed is dependent on the strength of your torch. A stronger torch will give bigger clouds and require a faster draw speed.

Don't be afraid to be a little more aggressive with torch placement too. I find dipping the bright blue inner flame into the intake just a little will really get the vapor flowing.

To add a little to @Vapor_Eyes (who is a tremendous help BTW, he's definitely perfected his technique.) You can also back the torch off a little to lower the intensity of the torch flame if you get concerned.
As you see the vapor forming, and want to taper down the heat, pull the lighter up a bit.
Being more risky with the torch will make you an expert quicker.
That said, I'm not saying go crazy, but definitely don't be shy with the torch.

Thank you @Vapor_Eyes for all your help. I really do appreciate it.

Thank you everyone for keeping a nice dialogue going here. As I always say, Really love the vibe here.

Hey all, I've been in search of a quality, quick, hard hitting desktop with good efficiency. I've been hoping to also find a unit that can be stored away quickly and easily stored in a discrete way without too much hassle.

Some of you may have seen the thread I created in the ask FC forum asking for opinions about vapes I've read about on here. As I rarely, if ever, get to try any vape I don't own in the wild, I had some questions.

To keep an already long monologue a little shorter, @damm (among several others, thanks again guys!) recommended the hydrobrick. Anyway, after reading this thread and watching both vape critic and sneaky Pete's reviews of the brick I decided it was the best choice.

I just have a few questions:
1) ive seen a lot of glass milking vids where people were using a torch that had a fairly curved neck leading to the fire-y bit. It seems like a good choice since the vids made it seem like you don't have to go beyond the point where most torches start having trouble when heating the intake. Can't figure out what torch this is. Any chance you guys are familiar with the torch I've vaguely described? Lol

2) im all about water filtration, but due to my living situation, most of the time I'll have to use my brick dry due to a need for discretion. Is the hydro smooth enough that I could reasonably do this? Before I got my firefly 2 I used my mflb native 95% of the time. Is the hydro smooth enough to use without filtration one or two times a day without feeling like 10,000 rakes had a field day in my throat?

3) I've read conflicting views about HTs vs traditional glass. Is there really such a drastic difference between the ease of use of one vs the other? If so, would using the brick dry help in building the necessary technique?

4) when everything is packed away (the lid is on), how smelly is the brick when in a drawer or cabinet? Would you guys say that a person with a moderately sharp nose would pick up? Or should I just cut my losses and get a pelican case lol

Thanks a lot guys. I apologize for the ramble. Rough day so I spent some extra time with my fly tonight :peace:. Thanks to FC I've been able to find a way to get respectable, cool and smooth, surprisingly potent clouds from it consitantly. So after a couple bowls I'm in the clouds :ko:. I'm just hoping the brick will be noticeably harder hitting lol

Thanks again!

@Slow Draw McGraw:

You're welcome! I have been helped so much from FC, I love being able to help others also. This is such a wonderful community and I also love the vibe in this thread as well as the Junior thread and OG thread.

@Dr. Yan-I-Tor: Welcome to the family!

1) That's a 45 degree angle torch. The HydroBrick will come with one but there are many available online.

2) I think the Sticky Brick Labs vaporizers are easily some of the smoothest vapes I have when used dry. Possibly the smoothest. I use my Hydro add-on when I want bigger hits, not smoother hits.

3) Using the Brick dry will help develop your technique. With water I used a whip adaptor at first because I had no hydrotube, and it worked well. For me the hydrotubes are just a little more convenient and simple, but either way works well.

4) I don't have a Maxx, hopefully someone else will chime in.

Just pulled the trigger on a cherry brick!!!

Since I ordered from sneaky Pete I also picked up their house globe bubbler and a black glass mouthpiece.

Since the order was over $150 they provided free shipping. Apparently they ship from florida. I'm in Indiana so I'm really hoping it doesn't take too long to get here!!

Ahhh can't wait!!!

That's usually the Zico T38 you see. Otherwise check out the Scorch Torch brand; you only want a single flame. Pretty decent variety

Ah right well the bowl is open; so unless you plug it ... sure it should have some smell; the walnut or cherry should also be noticeable. If you keep the bowl empty q-tip with water and just clean out the bowl area and it'll remove a lot of the smell.

The large cork is almost big enough so you could just remove the o-ring and drop that in and it'll keep a bowl pretty well; but there's also a flame intake air inlet that isn't really blockable. So I wouldn't expect it to be smell proof if you keep it loaded.

I don't really notice it; but I guess it's all about other people who are not used to it.

I'm happy to report back that I figured out what my problem was, having figured that out I'm proud to say I've been blowing clouds as big and dense as the next vapor enthusiast. It was the simpliest solution too and had nothing to do with breathing rate or skill or subtlety, I had a broken lighter. Yes, it was just that simple. I bought Jr 3 weeks before buying maxx so I was using Jr's torch for both Bricks. Jr's torch was a little weird since the beginning but I was able to use it at a low setting and didn't require the major angling that the OG and HB demands so it never occurred to me it was such a big deal. When I got Maxx and used the same torch at a higher setting it sputtered, every so often it fires out a jet of flame. Because of that I kept the torch on low with Maxx too and wasn't getting results. Anyway after consulting @Slow Draw McGraw I turned up the flame and it literally became a blow torch when I angled it.

The solution- I filled up Maxx's torch and all problems were solved. I knew my technique couldn't be that poor, thankfully it proved to be the case. All is good in vapor land again. Here's some photos of what my torch looks like angled too much.

Thanks @Slow Draw McGraw , @Vapor_Eyes , and @Lookatmeglow for always patrolling and looking out

Edit-I didn't post the video bc I don't know how, these just were still shots from the video.

Jumping in here for the 1st time in a while and as I read a few new posts it sounded like a good idea to get my Maxx out. I have already combusted twice lol. When you dont use this thing for a fair amount of time it takes a bit to get used to the technique. Butane vapes are so fun to play with and I am very high while typing this. Great Sunday to my fellow FC'ers!

Member, you member riiiight?
I've had my Maxx for over a week and it has now become my daily driver! There are some minor issues though:

Is there any way to seal off the intake hole when not in use? That way I can leave herb in the bowl and it'll remain fresh and not leak if I take it somewhere.

Also be careful not to plug the cork for the storage jar too deep. I did this and could not pull it out no matter what tool/method I used. Instead all I could manage to do was push it in deeper and rip it apart piece by piece, allowing debris to get mixed into the herb and go to waste.

So I went to clean my Maxx and for the life of me could not get the male stem out , it was stuck in there good. Anyways thru my brute strength I broke and cracked it , the bottom half was still on the maxx so I grabbed a screw driver stuck in there and finished breaking it so I could get it out. Replacement part is only 11 $ so I am not upset about it. Still contemplating adding the sticky glass to the cart but damn why could they not make the price like 40-80 $ ?
