Apologies if this has been covered before but I looked and couldn't find any posts about it. I am wondering what the air path and vapor path of the milaana are like. From the looks of it the vapor path is all glass but I can't tell for the air path. I have heard talk of glues being used and such so just wanted to confirm it has safe internals before I purchase one.

Air path has wood (whichever you choose), stainless steel, mica, and glass.

There is medical grade 2 part epoxy used to hold the female glass heater housing inside the device. The epoxy is touching the wood and about 3/4 of the outer diameter of the glass heater housing. That area of the heater housing doesn't get very hot and is within the usage and specifications of the expoxy. Airflow in this area is minimal.

This isn't the place to discuss material safety (just to let you know)

There was a lengthy debate in the beginning of the thread and the subject got beat to death and it was derailing the thread.

That being said...if the milaana is assembled properly, there should be no glue in the air path.

The air travels through a screen and between the wood body and the glass vapor path, under the vapor path, then up through the glass female and through the flowers.

Some people are more sensitive to faint smells and adhesives and some reported a smell, but in most cases they dissipated pretty quickly.

Glue is used to secure the female joint into the wood body.
Air passes near, but not directly over the glue.
RBT has stated that the glue used is medically safe (can't remember the temp it's rated to, sorry)

I personally feel completely comfortable with RBT's air, and vapour paths.
Even if you put your finger directly into the female glass joint, directly after a big rip, it really isn't very hot, so the glue, which is on the outside of the glass where it's even cooler, won't come close to temps which would be a risk to health.

I am satisfied that RBT's design is among the very best (better than most) regarding material safety.

Not all will put them at the very top of the tree in this regard, but I think the general consensus puts RBT's vapes among the very best on the market.

Edit:
sorry, you got replies while I was composing this answer.

Well I got my no heat milaana back home yesterday and in fact my gf wasn't kidding it was definitely not heating up at all. The reason is the spring got compressed and the battery is not making a connection with the copper plate. :bang:

I know this was been discussed, fixed, and resolved with others on this forum in the past. I remember reading something about threading a string through the bottom of the spring and pulling it back into place..? Either way I sent a warranty claim first to see what the man advises. I really don't mind tackling this fix at home, just worry I can be a bit rough and might further damage the vape.

Hopefully I can get the milaana running again soon, because I missed it for that week, and now suddenly I'm down to one vape.. What the hell is happening  ??? I really don't know but I'm certainly blaming trump :nope: fuck, having just one vaporizer will not make America great again, especially when it was made in Switzerland haha.

:peace:

Last posts on the subject recommended a paper clip to pull the contact back up. I was looking at some dental tools on Amazon with 90 degree probes since I have a similar problem. Mine still makes contact though if I don't use any washers under the copper plate. Good luck Phil and keep us informed!

@natural farmer I believe it was @Zangano Cruel that had a glass female that came loose and did a mod that does what your describing. it is way in the threads past, so I dare not attempt to quote a page.

Thanks so much buddy! Totally forgot of Cruel's adventures! :p
His silicon stripe fix is very nice indeed. Next time it breaks I am asking the female glass from RBT and installing it myself "G-shock-style"!!!
Does anyone know if this glass can be sourced elsewhere as well?

Threading a string thru the connector and pulling it up may be annoying but I feel like it'd be more effective than the paperclip. I kinda just whacked around in there trying to pull it up but I was really nervous about messing something up due to the force required... The angles are also odd.

A dental tool might work, or one of those picks used for concentrates. My little gem tweezers fit in there but I couldn't pull the connector up.

Even if mine works now, it still is definitely much more compressed than it was and sometimes I get paranoid whether it'll make the connection.

At the end of the day, still really love this thing. I let some dude try it after explaining for about 30 seconds and he got a nice cloud first rip and commented how tasty it was.

I'm still eyeing that aspen select... Someone post some emerald female glass pics :)

@Office_Printer in the future we will be showing pics of the units so folks can see the actual unit that they are purchasing.

Awesome ideal, I'm sure some of the other old timers remember the fun and excitement when Rick would toss the his one of a kind log vaporizer up on his website.

Would also save people being disappointed since you see what you get this way.

My Milaana serves its purpose very well, definitly satisfied with it!

Just done a shatter session(with my D020) for the first time with great success, endless tasty clouds and what's a cloud! It carries definitly enough power for an effective concentrates vaporization.

A great vape!

Just on the RBT site,so many choices! This time, not rushing I, as this will be Mi #5. In all reality, I don't use the older (cooler) units (2), and one of my newer units isn't getting hot (might be battery connector)...

Anyone get any of the new woods? How are the new units in general?

I am not having luck on the website, some pages won't load, so browsing has to wait.

Yesterday most of the high end wood choices were not available. I am at the point now of saying fuck waiting any longer for my #18 to be returned, I will just wait until the exotics are back in stock and grab one of them.
It seems to me that the site is still undergoing some work maybe?
When I look, there are several of the exotic models available.

At the time of writing:
The spalted model shows as "out of stock", but if you click on it, and check the glass colour drop-down, the cobalt is still in stock.
It's only the other glass colours that are sold out (spalted).

Aspen 'select' is available in all colours (1 cobalt, 2 each of amber and emerald).
Aspen premium - 2 each of each colour

There's a walnut premium available in cobalt

One each of the cherry premiums

The original 'unit only' show as in stock for me (clear glass I assume?)

Also the original kits with charger (2 each of cobalt and emerald, 1 amber)
Maple select is available, but only one cobalt.

Sometimes I have to reload a page a couple of times before it works, which is why I'm guessing there is work underway.

Give it another go

Thanks @AJS and @cannabis.pro thanks, I saw that particular post on my catch up but for some reason I thought there was more to it (call it hope)

So it doesn't have any 'must have' changes?

VAS is a funny beast like that...makes you want the same shit you got again, just because it was 'updated'

@natural farmer yea @Zangano Cruel has a lot of adventures...thankfully he shares SOME with us!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think when @Bravesst was having his milaana 'woes' he may have found a source for the glass...could be wrong though

Let's just hope it stops breaking though!

One more must have change is a black Zirconia female joint attached to the body in a G-shock fashion... Shouldn't be that hard, right?

I think SHOULDN'T is the key word here...

But IME things that shouldn't always happen.

I hear you though the new intake glass colors are very attractive...my birthday is in 2 days...maybe someone will send me a surprise milaana (but most likely not )
