X-Max Qomo Micro E-rig

If time proves to be kind to the Qomo and they come out with a Ti or quartz bucket I may revisit it. The size seemed right. Dab rigs with much larger buckets are way too big for me. I need to vape very small bits of concentrate otherwise I get :goat: I have a big ol' enail setup with a 25mm banger but it collects dust because it is way overkill for me. Even the DT V4 is too much for me.

The + seems very interesting. It's the right size and a great review from Jerry! 25 bucks for a replacement atty?

Always fun exploring!
Please, keep this thread for the Qomo even if you dislike it, you can quote somebody in the dedicaced thread though.

Please could you elaborate why you even didn't tried the Qomo and returned it, what do you was expecting while ordering which wasn't satisfying just giving a look at the unit?

Imho it does what it promises, stain is annoying but might be fixed with new materials atties... our engineer teams is already working on others components atties but in order to fix existing issues with the stock atty also.

edit hi @BabyFacedFinster I read all your posts and understood you disliked the ceramic atty, different atties will be availables very soon, I hope they will convince you!

Which ones? Ceramic is definitely the way to go... there is a very good reason why the big boys in the industry choose it for their pens, and don't offer alternatives. Look at the Puffco+.... 5 years and still the best pen on the market hands down IMO, and i've tried pretty much all the big boys.

If the ceramic atty build quality is like the Xmax V-one+, i'll be moving on real quick, but i'm pretty sure it's a completely different design so it's all good.

Ceramic is definitely the way to go.
It already has a ceramic cup...most want quartz...the same as the terp pen is just releasing as people keep saying they don't like ceramic, I am not one of them, I had no problem with the original Terp Pen and it's ceramic rod with a heating wire wrapped around it as long as you never let it run dry.

Apples and oranges... all the best pens on the market have a pressure fitted ceramic bucket...Puffco+, Dr Dabber Stella, and Stone Smiths' Slash... quartz would be a big step backwards. I want a ceramic banger lol

@Thick Vape try soaking the atty in dark crystal for a couple of hours (warm better) and then iso, then full dry. Other than some qtip scrubs in there, I think nothing can be done except a replacement. Hope you have access to them! Was supposed to get mine today but the mail and tracking technology seem to have gone back in time. Incredible how 2 day guaranteed express shipping turns into a week without anything lol
First time I have heard that, you would like the soldering iron based heaters that are making a comeback!
I have a ceramic cup on a Subdab Pro that went black using rosin, the same crappy rough surface is to blame by the sound of it as you can never get it completely clean
Hopefully, the attys aren't a rort like the Subdab Pro(nearly the same price for the atty as the complete unit).:2c:
Alumina ceramic is the same chemical composition as sapphire (Al2o3)

The DTV3 was still one of the best tasting devices I've ever used, utilizing that ceramic tech. I think @LesPlenty is saying if the ceramic was polished smootheit would clean up easier which I think I would agree with. Kind of like SiC when its rough vs mirror polished, Or opaque quartz versus regular quartz.
Yes, this all pretty much sums it up.

I tried soaking the cup with cristal cleaner overnight and gave it a couple heatups to boil. The q-tip did not remove much I had the impression, but now I can see the glow again at the bottom of the cup, when it is heating. The cup still is pretty dark. Doesn't bother me much as the qomo works fine.
But I sure am interested in atomiser options.

Plus the lightshow in the night. What can you expect more :D

For the moment my battery drains pretty fast, I can get maybe 4 sessions or so. But I guess my technique will improve and help with that.

Yeah the inside of my atomiser is dark grey all I have is 91 percent alcohol and it wont help grey center but the rest of the cup is off white for me it seems to taste fine but Im not a flavor guy smoked for years not now this Qomo seems to get me medicated fast but I am comparing it with dr dabber boost black edition with ceramic nail I am getting a puffco plus vision pen we will see how that stacks up against the Qomo
Wonder what you report about the puffco+.

Its on the way when I get it I will let you know what I think so far happy with qomo

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
I'd just be happy to GET my QOMO today because it's definitely getting opened and used!

Jesus, you were supposed to get that days ago.

I'm on the sideline now. Just dropped the return in the mail. Still looking forward to more reviews. I see that Troy did do an update and is still interested in this e-rig too.

Thank you to @PPN for his kind words. I will definately keep the Qomo in mind as the reviews continue and new attys come out. Everyone has their preferences. I'm into Ti buckets right now.

Sure the stock atty will rest ceramic for many reasons, although we will try to improve it. By the way, did you already seen a ceramic heating element which is polished/glazed, I'm trying hard but I don't remenber one exist... I believe the porous nature of the ceramic used is one of the reasons this ceramic works so well with concentrates (cause this is increase the contact surface) and the reason why the stain is unremoveable. we have to find a cleanable porous ceramic!

For others options I can't say which ones we will keep after engineers tests but be sure to be the first to know!

Stay safe and have fun vaping!

Yes, where I live PNW i'm affected by the smoke (second worst air quality in the world at the moment) and there is no mail delivery.
And I wanted to make a lame joke like: the post can't deliver because of the smoke or so....

I wish the fires would cease and people not getting affected by smoke soon.

Thanks for the explanation, maybe we just have to live with some stain and/or changing attys here and then.
I think I would like a "low temp atty" because I feel the white setting is already pretty high for my taste. Maybe a quartz atty would do that as quartz often heats a bit less than other surfaces.

Are you SURE that the ceramic is porous? I ask because I 100% don't think that any "staining" is due to oil, but rather the properties of the ceramic itself. These are dark grey/black-ish type marks that actually "change". I get them on my ceramic dabber built in my Puffco+ if I haven't mentioned it already from friction contact with something. It's also the same way with removing them, you have to like "rub" it off.

I found some info about the ceramic in the puffco+:

It's a great pen, utilizing HIVE CERAMIC in its chamber. This might be the first pen, along with the linx Hypnos Zero and Kandypens ELITE, that make people realize pens finally don't suck.

HIVE CERAMIC IS :
  • MEDICAL & FOOD GRADE
  • CHEMICALLY INERT
  • NON CORROSIVE
  • ALL NATURAL
  • NONPOROUS

The marking on the floor hasn't affected taste whatsoever on my Puffco. I've kind of seen what you're talking about temps on the qomo though, I feel like i'll be using the lowest temp setting too lol.

Quartz requires even higher temps than ceramic due to lower thermal conductivity? It's SO nice to vaporize at 50-100f lower than quartz!

Smoke has cleared....finally able to open my windows, and hoping it's out for delivery today because I need a novel toy to play with lol

Although I have to say the first session on my Qomo surprised me the most flavour wise. Now I agree, the taste is pretty constant and ok. I do not taste any burnt wax or something, yet.
But I stay on white now and do not squeeze out the last bit of the dab.
I cannot get all the flavours I can get on my enail, but hey for such a small relatively cheap device.... and this might have to do with the high temperatures.
I also need some ruby or similar on my quartz enail as with SiC balls I cannot yet squeeze all the flavours out on the enail as with some ruby balls.
But I am still experimenting.

Yes. My thinking was that with the same heating and the lower thermal conductivity of quartz, you would get lower temperature at the dab surface.

But better would be if we could change the wattages of the heating levels ourselves.

I supposed that but you gave me doubts... I'll inquiry!

About quartz versus ceramic, our second version of the X-Vape e-rig, the vista mini 2 use quartz while the first version used ceramic, most peoples who used both seems to prefer the last quartz version... maybe that's only cause a sort of quartz hype but it's like that atm.

I had the Quomo for a week now, had a 35-40 recharges. I really like it, I've been running it with a VM2 crystal atty lately with a modified Rok collar as the stock glass collar fits but it's too tight and restricts air flow. I held it in place with a silicone band cut from a Starry silicone skin, true Xvape/Xmax hybrid. More coming.

Wow Wonderful.
Made me just think about a Motar quartz atomiser I had lying about since the Motar broke.

And it works. Gets pretty hot too and I had to set the collar far too high, but it works.
I prefer the taste of the stock atomiser though.

I tried a bunch of bubblers and finding out a 18mm mate joint fits the bubbler opening opened up lots of possibilities while I don't have 3mm balls I have 6mm and they work pretty good. I have never did a dab without water, but this thing is low temp with 536/608/662F the highest is middle temp on VM, 2nd lowest on VM2, lowest temp same on all 3. I got some pretty tasty dabs on green/608F, I was always running white/536F most of the time trying to preserve battery power and on the lowest settings you can get about 6-7 dabs, each dab about 4-5 cycles 3-4 pulls and a burnoff after cleaning.

The stock ceramic atty works but is bitch to cleanup. I have the VM and experienced all the same stuff and figured out a process that works. After the dab, clean with ISO qtip till you can't see any residue on the qtip, can take 3-4 qtips, then do a burnoff at top temp 2 burnoffs is better then should be grey hopefully which is ash baked on and requires lots of heat to remove. Do more dabs and follow same routime. When the battery hits red recharge remove the atty put on a modbox and run multiple burnoffs. If it's not too dirty 5-10 usually gets it close to new except the crease around the bottom. I got too cocky and thought the atty was indestructible like the VM2 atty and cracked the side wall running 33W thru it, while I knew better I should not have pushed it. I have new atties now as well as a another Quomo I picked up for $75CAN and will be more cautious.

PPN the Oura has a ceramic bucket as well as the crystal one. The bucket doesn't work very good, getting poor vapor at highest temp, less than the crystal at lowest temp, so useless, but it cleans up better than the crystal. Has very smooth glass like surface, not sure if it was buffed smooth or a glaze. I want to try it as a insert on my enail bang where you can get the heat some day. So there is smooth ceramics available.

Also need more battery, 2 18350 1200maH batteries in the Quomo 2

@Petetbay You're doing burnoffs? Won't those kill the atties prematurely?

Where did you grab one for $75cdn?
I did hundreds of burnoffs on the VM atty never had one fail because burnoffs and on the Quomo atty I had over a hundred. I pushed it when I got it really dirty with too much shatter and did over 30 burnoffs and it cleaned up good and worked after, but continued using with the crack, but crack progressed to the the bottom and then it failed to heat.

They are out of stock now. https://www.vaporamavapes.com/

I would go for a quartz or sic bucket. For me, I like buckets because they are easier to clean between dabs. Coils, rods, etc are are pain to clean and maintain flavor. YMMV
I hate those stupid inserts/buckets. They are too small and it's particularly difficult to load them. Usually have to take the top of the atomizer apart to get to the bucket. Which is another pain in the ass.
