Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Still really enjoying this tall spiked tube, despite the mouthpiece, it is also nice with water though that adds a bit of draw restriction with only the two downward facing slits in the inline perc... However if you load just enough water to be right below them, it keeps the right angle joint fully dry, so it can catch any particles before they enter the water, subtle cooling with good taste, best with the tetra so far, I think the TM worked better with a little more water loaded for more chug or using dry (Hopper seems better dry with it, FW7 I think could go both ways? Need Sunshine 14 to 14 male to male adapter to arrive so I can use it properly however)
Now the CaliBear straight fab FOL has arrived though, got a little slowed down by customs I think leaving China, but then FedEx breezed through Alaska and Tennessee to get to California this morning!
It is a very nice, well-made complex piece, I love the milk blue color and it does match the inline spiked tube milk blue color too! Unfortunately there are a couple super minor cosmetic imperfections outside the joint and base, speaking of the joint though it is actually a unground 18.8 mm female, quite nice although the first adapter I tried fit a little wobbly... The perc is pretty cool, little rice seed shaped laser slits in that x flower grid pattern, and the straight fab egg is pretty awesome, carefully constructed holes through the glass with an internal cylinder structure (they are more effective than spikes, since they are full cylinders that surround the vapor path in the can a grid of four and five rotated in six columns, as opposed to four columns of five spikes in the other straight tube) that also gives the vapor a flat surface to hit after it leaves the perc...
I just tried it for the first time dry with the FW7 and it worked quite well, the balance of a smooth purr from the perc and a little restriction from the large egg cylinder seem like an effective combo! However there is a weak point for me, the mouthpiece is a little too small ironically, tube so narrow that it restricts the draw much more than the egg, with an even narrower tip... Fortunately I thought, it is not flared it is flat, however the size of this thick flat mouthpiece unfortunately seems perfect for drool! Hopefully this can be avoided with different vapes, using water, my own technique improvement, or otherwise I'll have to resort to more innovative measures lol
Overall I still like the piece, it is nice and unique, I'm glad I have the straight spiked tube as well, similar yet different counterparts that visually match perfectly... The straight fab's can is slightly taller and narrower, the spiked tube's base is wider along with longer wider mouthpiece and super thick glass for the can likely because of the spikes, the base of the straight fab is slightly thicker and all around its glass is quite thick... notably very good quality glass that is more worked overall, only part that looks welded is a little clear spot in the milk blue at the right angle where the female joint tube meets the inline perc tube (aside from the other two minor superficial imperfections in the outside of the joint and inside the base) like feeling the outside of the glass, the straight fab is all totally smooth polished more like US glass!
