ok thanksYes that is the concept. You can find a few videos on youtube showing how to do it. The problem for me was oven bags seemed to have a bad flavor vs stock bags.

And just a question for the people who use their cano allllll the time with a easy valve, how long does your 5 bags last before you have to order more
Hey on eBay UK site there's a chap in Germany Selling super quiet bags, I've been using them and they are so much better and quieter than the proper bags or oven bags! Love themHello. I just joined this website today. I also got my volcano in the mail today. I ordered the solid valve but they sent me the easy.. anyways I was just wondering how many fills will a bag go for until it gets (gross) or way harsh. I've heard people say 50-100 is that accurate? I know the answer is somewhere on this website already so sorry for asking. Thanks very much, so you don't give it a little pack down? Just sprinkle in loose? ThanksThe following only pertains to the solid valve: I sprinkle material into the chamber, anywhere from just enough to cover the screen, up to 2/3 full of the chamber. It gets less efficient the more you put in, at least for me, personally.
The top screen acts like a plunger. My habit is to depress the knurled 'stick' until the top screen contacts the herb, although even the act of attaching the bag will push the plunger down, if you didnt seat it fully.
There's one on fleabay atm.
It seems a little funky/awkward/expensive but still kinda nice because it's glass:

I know this is an old post, but it should help anyone who's experiencing issues with a leaky solid valve. I was having the same issues as this post.
I finally contacted S&B, explained the situation, and they shipped a new Solid Valve Housing
.
Can I just cover those slits or do they serve a purpose?
Hi can anyone help please? I've had my volcano for a week now and loving it! I have been trying to find a thread on the best way to pack the volcano bowl easy and solid valve? How much to put in? Do you pack the chamber down or just put it in loose? Half full or full chamber? What grind is best? I've also been putting a little sprinkle just covering the gauze then plop the liquid pad on top to stop the herb from blowing about in there! Seem to get about 3nice bags from that way! Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Shitttt sorry for the double post!!!
Yes you can leave it on for a few hours. It takes awhile to heat up and I would probably sell mine if I had to wait for it to heat up for every bagIs it ok to leave the volcano on for a few hours at a time? I heard some people turn it off after every bag, and then turn it on, and wait for it to heat up for each bag...

The volcano takes about 1 second per degree Fº that it rises. It takes awhile to heat up and I would probably sell mine if I had to wait for it to heat up for every bag
The Digital Volcano does shut itself off.
One can use a light timer with the analog unit for shutoff if they wished.
The volcano takes about 1 second per degree Fº that it rises.
From room temperature (approx 70º) that would take the unit 307 seconds to reach 377º (my favorite vape temperature)..
That is 5 minutes.
5 minutes can be a long time if wanting to medicate right now!
I generally take a preliminary hit from my SSV (on 24/7) to kill a minute while the Volcano gets up to temp.
But is this recommended over just vacuuming it out?
And what is the likelihood of this dust accumulation coming in contact with what we eventually inhale from the bag?
nevermind i just looked at that link.. it's about taking the bag apart.. nothing to do with this.
