I'm tempted to get one at that price but wonder if I should hold out for newer batch so not have to chance the E04 issues.
As I sit here, inhaling through my Venty on airflow setting 3 and pondering the question ... I think you should go for it, if there is anything about the Venty that really attracts you. For me, it was the super open airflow after Troy mentioned that he appeared to cough less by inhaling easier.

I got mine in 02/24 and it lived for about 10 months and 136 hours before the E04 hit. Thanks to S&B's excellent customer service, it was picked up on a Tuesday and the new one arrived on Friday (it probably helps that I'm in Germany)

If it dies, you will get a new one without any problems. They do take care of their customers.

Several retailers have put the Venty on sale for sub $340. Clearing out the old version I'm guessing?

If any e04 should come up you would be getting for sure the newest version in a matter of days from SB hq. I’d go for it. This doesn’t even seem to be the case a “v1”/“v2” can be applied since the change in manufacturing has only been reported as a rumor from reddit and there are no other substantial differences other than the rumored glue.

Check this out.
In the third revision of the Venty , they changed the material of the buttons; now it is soft plastic and not silicone as it was before, which decomposed (not melted) from exposure to fat or oil.
The Venty logo above the display has become much brighter and more wear-resistant.

They glued the molex connector to the display module. Finally! I've been writing about this in redlit posts for a year, that the problem is in the broken connector.
Visually, the easiest way to distinguish the newest third revision from the previous ones is by the color of the logo and buttons - they should match. In the old revision the logo was a little lighter.

I can't find the video I shot with the old revision.
If I find it I'll try to make a video comparison.

My Venty displayed e04 for a short time, yesterday and today.
It was one of the few times I have used it in a cold environment.
It failed the first session yesterday and today but worked flawlessly afterwards.
The first time it happened to me was on my second unit, after the first one was bricked remotely by SB, and it was exactly like this time. It appeared once and it was gone after a second, and the unit would work afterwards. When I asked about the issue I had to SB the first time they asked me to send it in right away. I will ponder if asking the RMA right now or wait some more.
I’m actually “happy” I had e04 so I know I have a new Venty coming on my way whenever I want to. Otherwise I’d have only my power button to complain, which is starting peeling off of its orange cover.

Wondering why it has taken almost 2 years to rectify a connection issue seems odd

Now I kinda want an error so I can get an new one through RMA.

Dosing cap without the lid is the move btw. Less restricted airflow while still keeping the oven clean. I’ve also swapped out the CU mesh to finer one to remove the need for the rectangle filter

Greetings, I use my Venty everyday....on my third one. I do love S &B ....but, it does SUCK that shipping cost is put on the customer for returning THEIR FAULTY product...I personally do not think its fair whatsoever. They should cover ALL costs for the consumer. That was a suck ass move on their part.

If you really want an error code drop it hard the connection will slightly misalign and E04 will appear

Maybe that's an international thing? I"m in Germany and they sent me a UPS shipping label. No cost at all.
Maybe...or too many people complained about it and they changed it. I was in the early batch of victims...like I said...I have #3 Venty being used...good for you for not paying shipping. Cheers.

Third day of e04.
E04 is more frequent than before. On the first sessions of the day it may happen a few times in a row but I always found a way to get medicated until now. I starded the Rma process and I will see if they now charge the user for the return here in Europe ((assuming @Dr. G resides in the USA), it would be the first time they do it, and I returned every vape they made at least once except the Volcano).

If you really want an error code drop it hard the connection will slightly misalign and E04 will appear
I confirm this 100%.
I dropped it at least once in the last year and since then the two halves of my Venty’s body were not as tightly connected and aligned as before. I also dropped it 3/4 days ago and that’s when it started displaying the error.
If I get the new version with the upgraded buttons I might get the e04 “Melty” sweatshirt to celebrate.

That sounds kind of similar to how mine died. It started with an E04, but that was "fixable" by turning off and on again. A few days later, the "permanent E04" hit. I had probably had about 5 fixable E04s before that.
I already had more than 20 e04! I can consider myself lucky and thinking of downgrading to something else for outdoors now..
After displaying “E04” very briefly my unit just shuts down and shows how much battery is left, as if I pressed the power button to shut it off. For this reason it’s not possible to press the + temperature button to see the subcode of the error.

Greetings, it truly sucks that this is happening to one of the best vapes around. All that shit aside this vape is fierce...that is why I did not lose hope. It is also very expensive for that shit to continue to happen. I started using the Volcano when it first came out so...you can imagine the years I have been using S and B. I am pissed at Jurgen because he should stop traveling and address this issue. Still this shit is occurring???? Shame on him. Next time he releases a vape...I am NOT jumping to order it. Ill wait a couple of years....the trust has disappeared for me.

I'm in! Ordered tonight for $331.50 shipped from Vapesmart!

Side rant, to justify this new purchase, I'm thinking it's time to resell a vape or 2 I'm done with now that I'm moving onwards and upwards. But apparently there's a 50 post requirement to post in the Classified section on here, and I don't do Discord. Ugh.
