I bought a purple unit 2 days ago. After several bowls of testing, I think this is a great portable vape. I have the Vapman and the Iolite as well, and IMO the Vapor Genie has a smaller learning curve than the Vapman and produces thicker vapor than the Iolite. While the Iolite is still my favorite portable because of its stealth, ease of use and consistent temperature, the Vapor Genie is a great unit and was less than 1/3 of what I paid for my Iolite. I haven't burned a bowl yet (knock wood) ....so far, I'm very impressed and I would recommend it highly.

The glass Vapor Genie is even better (although less "sleuthy") You can take enormous hits: the glass must bake the herb. We're talking real clouds. For me, its the best, not to denigrate their wooden pipes: I have a wooden one handy upstairs. Nothing I have gives as big of vapor hits as the Glass Vapor Genie.
I've been looking at the glass VG for a while now. I think I want one, but I'm not sure yet. How is the heat when using the glass? I've read it gets pretty hot -ok, well..duh - but how is the positioning of the pipe and where it gets really hot? Do you need to be double-jointed to avoid getting burned once it heats up, or is it just a "be careful" kind of thing?
Also, how about the vapor temp? How is it on the throat? Too many bowls in one day on my wooden VG and I start to feel it in the throat. Wondering if you had input on that. Thanks.

The Glass VG is really the Cadillac of vapping imo (see my photo review).Soaper said:
As for the heat; if you hold it just behind the joint you are fine. The only danger really comes when emptying it after bowl as you can forget and tough the hot bowl. Honestly I have never really burned myself. I have just been like 'Oh thats warm!'
The vapor temp is perfect. If you slowly rotate the flame and pull faster as it gets hotter then you will not burn anything. It is very nice on the throat as the longer air flow allows for it to cool more.
Also get the Axe-Pack it is worth it!

Hello! Long time lurker but I just recently joined the community. I've had a Da Buddha and two VaporGenies in my vaporizing career, and heres one of my VaporGenies (it used to be turquoise *bleh*) that I've spent my time sanding down into a better shape and color.
Much thinner now and fits better in the hand. I hated the obscene shape before. Now it looks more like a legitimate pipe.

I remember my VG getting at least a tad bit hot to the touch when I had used it for a long session....Might have been the wood retaining all the heat tho
nice mod! gotta hate that old color and gotta love the new design! Really does make this thing look that much more 'public' friendly

I've got a vapor genie coming in the mail right now. I want to get stoned with it then carve glyphs into it and etc. Anyone else thought about carving designs and customizing the pipe?

I'm getting a portable vape sometime soon and was wondering how much punch the vg has. The other option I was looking at was the launch box, and if anybody here has both I would love to hear how they stand up to each other in the pure sense of how intense one bowl is.
. Never tried the launch box though.

i just cleaned it using some Iso and pipe cleaners. then let it air dry.

i use a needle, push it in enough too pull up one side of the screen so you can pull it out. But don't push too hard, don't want too put a huge hole in the screen.pbiend said:

what I normally do after this is use some tooth picks and scrape out all the residue and buildup, roll that into a ball and put away too revape later.
I used ISO and pipe cleaners for the length of the pipe and a Q-tip too get into the bowl area.
screw the retaining spring back into place. push the screen back in. let the thing air dry not fun if all the alcohol hasn't evaporated completely

Yeah, my friend customized his a few different ways. First he sanded off the finish, then he rubbed some dirt onto it to give it a used feel, and used a wood burner to put a marijuana leaf on the bottom where the sticker comes. It turned out really good and if i had any artistic ability i might have done the same. He had the classic maple if anyone was curious.11eleven11 said:

and for me the batteries can be a pita sometimes and limit you
unless you spend a bit more for aftermarket batteries
which probably puts the price up as 3x as much as a genie

How many hits do you guys get outta a bowl typically?? I'm thinkin I'm gonna swoop on a genie for snowboarding this winter because I was thinkin I could pack one in my car, throw it in my pocket and hit it on the lift up when I'm not ridding the rope. I was down to the genie and the flight box but I don't really want to have any glass at all on me. Falling and getting stabbed does not seem like a good time
