Exactly what I'm thinking. I'm gonna grab one soon I just wish they had it in cherry so it would match my pd. Meh, walnut is pretty sexy too

that reminds me of when I was seventeen I took my driver's permit test coming down from LSD. i hitchhiked to motor vehicles - I actually passed the written test to my amazement, but I kept writing my name on the address line, and had to keep asking for more forms.

Built up the brownish color inside my VG, cause of flint lighter dust...now that I have elec ignition, will the brown fade away to the normal black color?

To be honest I'm not sure what part of the VG you're referencing.
Flint dust is supposed to cause the filter to turn a dark red brown after a while, but with a piezo lighter it would eventually return it to its normal color of grey, not black. That is unless you really need to clean your filter.

On a separate note, ordered my teak VG last night :D :D :D

I think pbiend is talking about the ceramic in the top part. I don't know if the flint bits will clean themselves out of there. Maybe try cleaning it the way vg outlined on their site.

what is the cheapest VG people have paid for living in Canada? I was thinking it was either this or the magic flight box since its just 20 dollars more vs the VG... does anyone have both vapes and would like to comment on either?

Awesome forum by the way since vaporinfo.com forums died!

The VG website promotes a type of burning wick/twine to use with the pipe. Has anyone tried this? What kind of results?

Not as good as a regular lighter, works, but the flame is inconsistent and sometimes not large enough for cloudy hits.

Does anyone have experience with the glass genie? I know it seems expensive and gives up for portability, stealth and durability, but the siren song of all glass vapor path calls me. The bowl on the glass genie looks huge, not sure if that's a positive or negative.

I have both the wooden and glass VG. The glass one is WAY better. W-A-Y. Incredible skull busting hits. Doesn't get too hot for long. That is (surprisingly), the glass cools quickly. I grab it often, and I have a few from which to grab.

As always, YMMV, but for me, it is my garganta-hit pipe.

That's exactly the info I was looking for, macbill.

I did not know they offered a glass one before I bought mine a week ago; but honestly I probably would not have spent that much anyway for a first vape. BUT, now that I've tried the regular one I may sell it and get a glass one.

Can you tell me what you like better about the glass one? When you say it gives bigger hits, how and why is that? I would assume you could still also put a very small amount in, if you wish, right? Because I am finding the Vapor Genie to be VERY efficient. Geez, I barely cover the small bowl bottom with herb and I can get 4-5 hits out of that, AND it seems I'm getting higher than when combusting. I assume the glass has the same properties? Seems to me the advantage must be that you can see when it begins to vaporize, right?

However, it's not truly "all glass" it has the ceramic piece for heating and whatever else is in that piece.

By the way, folks, don't know if your local store will have them, but I bought a red and white ignition type lighter used for barbecue cooking at the 99c store for, yeah, that's right, 99 cents, and it works GREAT. Has a flame adjustment and everything.

Getting a good non-combusting hit off the VG is really not hard but it does take a few times to get it down just right.

For newbies, which I was one until a week ago:
The key is to just take a long draw at first with the flame right over it, but don't let the flame go down in the bowl, just barely into the top of the -top- bowl. Then blow out and see if you have gotten any vapor yet. You can actually taste it if it has reached vaporization, but if you aren't sure just blow out at the end of the first long draw and see if you see any vapor (blow towards a light source).

Then take another deep breath, draw in, not too heavy and not too light, just a nice medium and steady long draw in and keep holding the flame over the top. But when you taste it back off a little on the flame, then more again, kind of on and off, and this time you will get a big hit. The key is to know when to back off the flame. After a few hits with it you get the idea.

I got incredibly high on just 2-3 good vape hits. Then when I looked inside, I found I still have a bunch left in there! Amazing!

It arrived today :D
I'm not doing a full picture review right now, but I'll give anyone who wants some a little first impression reading-candy and some never-been-used vape porn

It was, as everyone always thinks, a lot smaller than I expected, but I really like its aesthetics.
And I just got hit with a brick wall of stoned. That doesn't hurt my opinion of it either :ko:

First impressions were a mix of initial disappointment, which morphed into sheer joy, and a bit of relief, as soon as i got my first beefy cloud of vapor. It doesn't hit like a knockout like I had the impression it would, but it sure hits like a champ and goes right to the dome when those clouds start appearing ;).

My only comparison as far as vapes go is the Vaporstar, but I would definitely agree with those who say that the two are in fact not similar in experience, if in execution.
The act of continuous draw on the VG changes at a fundamental level how you feel by the end of, and after, the bowl. Since there is no choke, and the vapor stream is constant, it's my theory that the "ascent" your head makes is much more smooth.
With the VS, the shotgun affect it had always put me much higher due to what I imagine is some sort of momentum the immediate vapor saturation has, like each hit punches the last one a bit higher on its way up.

That being said, the VG is a whole different experience, and one exactly in the way I wanted. More smooth of an incline; a pipe you could just chill out to a movie with, every now and then taking a toke. Or use at a get together with friends, hanging out and just toking casually.

At any rate, the fact I find I'm having a very interesting time trying to type this out right now will show that I am quite sufficiently baked only from the bowl I've just finished :ko:

Oh man...this thing is incredible...

I bought a hand-carved teak model, but I also bought a walnut bottom to use as a temporary substitution; I want the teak bottom to stay unused for the time being for various reasons.
(Love the way the bowl looks on the Teak :p)

Funny, I thought mine was BIGGER than I had thought it would be!

Wish I had got a hand carved Walnut one, myself... I didn't investigate closely enough so did not know they made them.

But now I am torn between getting a Walnut one or a Glass one. They definitely work very well. My only problem is I get so medicated off of just one or two tokes, I can't experiment further with the process of it. Maybe I need to get some really low grade shake to experiment with! Actually that's a very good idea I think!

Haha, to each their own I guess

The hand carved ones are beautiful, and though I think the classics are more ergonomic, the non finished aspect of the hand carved ones makes them the far more appealing product imho. I can't get over how cool the wood's grain looks on my teak VG :D
(I also don't like the steel bowl in the classic, but that may just be me.)

Honestly I say go with the Glass one though; my reasons for buying the genie are based on travel, durability and the smooth hit it has. In the case of using it as an around the house main-vape, the glass one wins hands down in my eyes. The only reason I didn't get one is that I need a more subtle pipe, and I already have a VS-bong and am getting a PD :D

(Know what you mean on the one or two tokes; It hits like a rollercoaster doesn't it ;) )
