I still like using the VG too introduce vaporizing too my friends because I find it amusing to tricking them into taking absurdly huge hits, I have a mean sense of humor, but they they don't complain because that one huge hit takes them too the moon.

A friend was at my house just over a week ago, she was on a forced 6 month probation break, ZERO tolerance... her legal obligations just finished.

Loaded her up a VG bowl, she was hitting it quite pro. I started saying "that should be enough, that should be enough" knowing she would scorch it but she kept on going.

1 MASSIVE hit, completely browned the bowl with a reasonable black spot in the middle.

She has now quit cannabis for good She left my house ~5 minutes after vaping it (her ride turned up), was spacing out pretty hard (you know the big BLINK followed by "woah" every 10 seconds), but seemed alright when I said goodbye. She was an everyday smoker for 10 years.

She said the whole world was spinning for nearly a full day, couldn't move AT ALL, one the scariest experiences she's had.

The power of the VG strikes again Lucky she turned up then, 2 days later and my SSV would have been here

A friend of mine really wanted too try my VG, I told him how too do it, even told him how to get a big hit without scorching the bowl.... He got so ripped he forgot he even used the VG and couldn't figure out for the life of him how he got high

That's an extreme reaction for any amount, vapor or smoke. After one hit, no matter how big..... probably just as well she's swearing off, especially since she just got off probation.

Very strange though isn't it, she was a HEAVY smoker for a full decade, she's definitely not a person that reacts bad to marijuana.

I couldn't see the same thing happening if she ripped a bong like she usually does, even after the 6 month tolerance break.

I'm the only person in my circle that vapes, everyone is too scared to come over and try now after they saw her completely munted.

I know. It either sounds like an exaggeration or the weed was laced with something to be affected like that for a whole day. I'm thinkin' a bit of exaggeration going on here, not by you Chubba, but by her.

Not the weed, I would go through 10+ VG bowls a day of the same stuff, your regular lame ass aussie weed.

She was extremely high when she left, but seemed fine. Everyone else agreed that she was pretty unresponsive the whole day, not asleep but just eyes open with a blank look/not moving at all etc.

I guess I'll never know if she was exaggerating or not, but indeed she has quit.

6 month tolerance break, must be nice. I can't remember a single time in the past 10 years that she went more then 1 - 2 days without smoking... perhaps just a shock to the system.

Damn, I need to take a break... I would be happy to be that baked off 1 hit.

Cuts down a lot of psychotic type effects / anxiety for me.

I don't mind being "the guy with those things", standard aussie culture involves smoking out of a plastic bottle (bottled water/coke bottle), using a piece of garden hose for a downstem and a piece of rolled up/cut up soda can for a bowl. Mmmmm tasty garden hose plastic fumes

Not to mention they smoke their bongs 50/50 mixed with tobacco.

Just wish I didn't smoke like that for nearly 7 years, everyone around here is pretty naive, their opinion is worth shit.

That wouldn't work at all.

There is a fair bit of distance between the bowl/weed and the ceramic filter. Turning it upside down and the weed would fall out of the bowl and onto the filter, which would definitely cause it to combust and most probably ruin your VG.

For the weed to not fall onto the filter, you have to overpack it tight, something users and VG themselves recommend against.

I'm not going to try it, all I know is it's quite easy to scorch/combust the bud when there's a 1/2inch gap between the filter and the bowl, I would be VERY surprised if weed sitting ON the filter wouldn't combust.

i have a pd on order, but to tide me over i picked up a vg from a local smoke shop last friday.

this is my first vaporizer and first experience vaporizing. that said, i had no trouble with it all. small flame, slow draw, get some wonderful taste on the first draw, no visible vapor. second draw, large cloud of vapor? and third, and fourth, and fifth? then i generally lose count but sometimes feel that it is a bottomless bowl.

after a mere three days, my impressions are generally positive. i'm definitely a convert to vaporization in general - the taste of the essential oils is better than burning, more heady/less couchlock buzz, and most of all the efficiency - i easily used less than half the material i'd usually use.

the vg itself is solid - extremely simple design, which is a plus. but it's so simple that the markup hurts. a similar pipe without the ceramic filter would be around $20 and i picked this one up for $60. that said, it's a durable piece that should last just about forever, and it's pretty much foolproof in operation. in fact, i was surprised that so many in this thread had initial problems with combustion. so long as you are following the 'don't let the flame touch the filter' rule, it should be impossible to get smoke. the only other con is the aesthetic of the piece - unfortunately they only had a teletubby purple one left - i'd have much preferred a classic wood. that's okay, though, i wasn't going to enter it into any pageants.

i also figure that its portability will be a nice complement to the pd and that the vg can go mountain biking and camping as well.

Hello all! I got a VaporGenie on my 30th birthday and it triggered me to want to give up smoking, as mastering this thing has pretty much ruined smoking for me anyway, haha! I've been doing my homework and this is obviously the best vaporization forum and best place for sharing info on this subject! Anyway, I absolutely love my VaporGenie. I tried using a torch lighter to start as I was afaid of accumulating soot, but I soon came to discover that a regular flame lighter was the way to go (piezo of course!). I have never deposited soot on the filter, although I did accidently combust in it for a split second once using the torch lighter, thankfully the gross tar taste faded quickly after a quick cleaning with pipe cleaners. It's annoying when people try to hit it and can't get shit, then declare it sucks. I just take a monster rip of the bud they just packed and blow it back at them and simply say, "learning curve" haha.

I get so much out of the bud I use it's insane, I lost THREE DAYS of my life to sitting on the couch enjoying my VaporGenie and having a vaporization epiphany. I train MMA and am an OCD health freak, so I feel stupid for not considering going full vape sooner. I'm a huge bong fiend, so I'm also ordering a VHW Stimulus Package ASAP. Glad to find so many well informed people here! Cya all around!

I'm getting sick of all that tar and such from my pipe getting in my lungs.. >.< hey I was wondering.. I'm gonna have to get one of these... one great review after another. I was going to buy one awhile back, when they were being sold cheap on ebay but I was not sold on the whole idea that they would work properly and now that I think I might take the leap...they are no longer around on ebay.
