electric u say?? where do u get em? what brand....link? thanks manlwien said:My el cheapo electric one works great.
if you do MAKE SURE to get thick wick bee-line hemp string...the thin wick is what fucks up the ceramic and your hitrunner said:Alright I'll just order a regular teak VG. I'm going to try the hemp wick though.
I only saw an offering of 1 kind of wick myself on the VG website maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. Do u taste the flavor MORE or close to as much as ure herb when using a wick? I don't want the taste to be too strong. Don't you guys like a disposable bic? I'm using that and it seems to be perfect. Altho I wonder is that what is irritating the throat? hmmmmmmmm. How does the skinny wick mess up the VG?Hennessy1414 said:if you do MAKE SURE to get thick wick bee-line hemp string...the thin wick is what fucks up the ceramic and your hitrunner said:Alright I'll just order a regular teak VG. Lots of good points in that post.Just got my Vapor Genie. What sucks is I thought I ordered the other color. So I'm a little disappointed color wise cuz it's totally not what I wanted, I wanted the Darker brown hand carved and i got the light one. Sucks. K so i thought I was going to soldier it and perfect it right away after doing my homework and all. WRONG! I guess you gotta scortch your throat at least once to find the barrier YOU DO NOT WANT TO CROSS. OUCH! It's still soar. There goes all my hard work the past couple weeks not combusting, oh well. I ended up getting the hang of it. lol ya realllllllly getting the hang of it, yum. Anyway she's a good purchase she suits me good for those times when sucking on a hose won't look that cool. lol..... I'm a happy camper. Vaked. So I give it 2 thumbs. One thing I will say is I really noticed the lighter taste more at the beginning then I did after the like the 4-5th try. Maybe cuz my technique is better of maybe cuz i'm used to it not sure. Anyway good portable guys
I know that some people are more sensitive to heat than others, but the VG should not be painful. Something is wrong.Chubba said:... but how the hell is it so damn painful, it's 10x more painful then smoking a bowl... it makes no sense.
i fully understand what you mean, i was majorly scorching the first weekend i had it and my lungs felt like absolute dhit the week after, hurt almost more than smokingChubba said:No I mean combustion in a vaporizer, is WAY more harsh then just smoking it straight up.
I would have thought even if you stuffed up a vaporizer the worst case scenario it would just be equivalent to smoke, but to me it's definitely way more harsh.
VG works good for me, but a scorched/combusted VG hurts more then just hitting a normal pipe.
Just so I have all bases covered, no one recommends the Vector lighters? They have a five-year warranty, has anyone had any experience dealing with their service? And Hennesy I'm not ignoring your opinion. I believe you about how I'll be using a lighter, I'd just prefer to be able to use the hemp string instead of having to buy butane all the time.Hennessy1414 said:go for it...in the end you will be using a lighter
I wouldn't buy another. See post #478runner said:Just so I have all bases covered, no one recommends the Vector lighters? Yeah, I'm very gentle pressing down that button. I have an el-cheapo piezo that works better. I got the Elio because of the horizontal flame, but even before the button acted up, the flame size would vary without me making any adjustments to the wheel.runner said:Iwien, how much does this have to do with technique of using it? I know when I read about the lighters on the VG site it said something about being extremely gentle pressing down on the button. I may order one anyway considering the five-year warranty and it'll save me from buying from multiple sites.
If you'd ask me if I'd do it again, I'd say no. But VG DOES have the best price on the Elio that I have seen anywhere.runner said:Alright, do you think it'd be worth it just to add on to my VG order? I plan on ordering the VG teak, possibly a grinder, and maybe a pouch.
And you inhale melted plastic. Take a look under the metal cover of your lighter after a session or two and have a peek at all the melted plastic you inhaled. I use plastic lighters until I took the metal cover off. The entire housing under the metal cover and around the flame is plactic; melted plasticc! Do your health a favor and drop a measly $20 on the Vector Elio pipe lighter. I've done all the guinnea pig work. Almost impossible to find a nonplastic candle flame peizo period, then to find one that throws the flame out the side...it's the vector elio until someone shows me another one. Yes its a mediocre quality lighter at best but considering the other options it's a home run. and most importantly, no plastic for the flame to melt.Acolyte of Zinglon said:i use a cheap refillable slider lighter that i got at a gas station, its nice, peizo ignition, lights every time, refillable, and only cost me a dollar

I find this hard to believe. You're telling me that a Bic lighter will have tons of melted plastic?captainhits said:And you inhale melted plastic. BTW fuck beeline/hemp line; It dosent provide a consistent steady flame, it's a frickin mess, and it's the biggest pain in the ass try not to light yourself on fire after lighting your bongload method ive ever used.
