Hey peeps,
VAS is a bitch to my wallet, got caught here too as i was watching the launching from here. A VAP3.0 just landed on my vape station and has delivered some various sessions (191°C to 229).
The heating is fast. The plastic material of the device reminds me the EVO's: black hard and durable. The assemby seems sketchy when the top removable part is off (to change heater sleeve/HS) but when on, nothing moves much only the center part panel can play a little.
The electronics on the device seems simple but functionnal and robust. I still did not exploit all the temperature dynamic and precision features this beast -of maximum heat flux config- has to offer but some steps should release massive hits. Particularly the low temp should be effective. More to come then.
I noticed a high rugosity and rawness of the inner ceramic/plaster molded of the heater which provoqued scratches (many) on the outside sanded side of the heater sleeve when i popped it off to inspect. Other concern is the diffusion of small particles from this rugous friable molded material around the heater. The HS is sanded so the scratches should not affect the mechanical behavior of the HS but the scratches are a beginning of a crack.
HS and a toroidal joint are still to be firmly sit and not a movable part in the design. The HS thinness of around 1-2mm, a dimension that could do HS a "sometimes" breakable part here. Glad i took some. there is one spare on each package.
And the HS change ability can switch the device to gunked one to a total new in few seconds!
Shall i ask for an even bigger bowl? By moving the glass pinches up?
As for Vap2.0, a pair of basket screens from Enano have been forced and deformed forever to delimit a VAP3.0 bowl. This screening arrangment made to prevent particles and permits very sandy loads to be vaped made by a 2 Enano baskets screens is to be improved, may be meshSS mad+SS flat screen for the glass-pinches screen and the Enano basket for the point of the stem, this one is out of the stem a bit and prevent stem to have a glass on glass shock with the heater sleeve. The whole set up is self cleaning and emoved after each load.
Anyway
@paytonpenn have a solution with an imag3 capsule. congrats m8! does it reduce the air flow?
There is the dab world where i rarely go (i will with VAP3.0 soon). Bigger and fix bowl for them at first sight. The previous one needed silicone ring mod to ensure a vertical position.
There is also the compatibilty with Vaponic which is A PERFECT physical FIT but the silicone ring is just arriving at the top of the HS. If this zone does not heat, it is perfect too but still.
The first major downside is the horrible buzzing noise of the power supply which is on "out from the box" for me which is very annoying to be gentlle but totally freaks me out from a total new device i waited for a long time.
At first analisis the power range of 12V/5A(12*5=60W) seems to reach the near whole 60W heater demand. So the power supply needs to be on its maximum point of fuctionning (5A). Well if another muted/silent power supply could be found it would be great! One good side of this is that the buzz indicates when the heater is on. It seems it buzzes only but permanently when heating just a little.
My final word for the first impression is that they did well with VAplotuion 2.0 and they focused on a bigger, better, stronger?, digital, precise, disposable unit.
And they did well too. Go VAS spread again on this device!!!
