Many different woods have been used for vapman already and there are still a lot we could use.
To me it doesn`t need to be exotic, in fact, I like the idea of using woods which grow in our back yards and forests. Yew tree is not really exotic, it just has been over used in the past, you can find yew trees in lots of parks and back yards, not in the forest anymore, though. Yew is my favored wood, it has qualities no other woods have.
So far I made vapman of pear tree, hornbeam, plum tree, olive tree, yew tree, american walnut, (the european walnut is not suited), australian silky oak and 2 other australian woods of which I don`t know the name and rose wood (not suited, it smells nice but too strong).
I will and want to make vapman in the future of cherry tree, apple tree, birch, ash-tree, a very limited series ebony, elm tree and many others I even don`t know yet.
I don`t know Amboyana Burl, looks interesting and I wonder how it smells, feels and looks like.
I love trees and wood, to me there is nothing better and more suited to make vaporizers. It is a superior heat insulator, easy to work with, ever lasting, good looking, non toxic and always different and interesting.
You are welcome to send in some wood for a custom made vapman.
Thank you,
vapman
