Vapman

daily burner type of device

18 months I stick to one device only as daily driver, 5-6 sessions per day and it gets very nice patina of use.

During the heating I hold it always on vapman logo, so it gets charred only on one radius, so pan side of wood gets very interesting spectrum of colouration! And never used any kind of wood moisturiser - it’s amazing as it is.

One treat, that it got - just removed logo from mica.

Is anyone else pulsing the heat on their click as you would a non click version?

I feel like I can get SLIGHTLY better flavor, efficiency and cloudage this way. About three heats to get to the click. Plus it keeps my muscle memory in tune for when I’m using my v1

Speaking of non click vm… I have roughly the same amount of sessions through my v1 and click now and I can confidently say I like the v1 better. Just a slight edge over the other but it’s there. Im surprised honestly

From session quality to feel in the hand my v1 olive for the win. In the hand, the olives silky smooth body becomes part of me rather than just holding the blocky click. This really helps my ritual and to get in the “zone”. v1 bowl is so efficient and the perfect size imo

No digs to the click other than the wood could use some more love from the factory to become one in the hand as it’s smaller brother does. It’s deff a step backwards in that regard.

I’m a vm noob and I’m just rambling as we do after sessions. I could probably make more sense if I wrote this before hand lol

I feel very fortunate to have both styles of vm

How Soon Is Now?
guys... i have a question. this is one of my amaranth click that gets used like twice a day and is nearly 30 days old. i noticed that there was that darkening of the wood although i do not apply more heat or big flames to it than the other ones and there was a lot of reclaim inside the middle piece. normally the metal inlay should prevent this but it seems it does not. and i have no clue why. the inlay sits tight. there is no side airstream and the inlay soaked in iso seems cleaner than the wooden part itself... any ideas?

That’ll happen mate. Perfectly normal. Every last one of my Vapmans do that. There’s no way to get around it. Fire produces heat, metal gets hot.

did you get the cherry version? those are unfinished to get that low price! finishing it with boiled linseed oil / wax will make a big difference … the cherry’s will also benefit from a little light sanding for a more finished feel

I find I'm finishing bowls in two heat cycles. Complete extraction. I fill the bowl 3/4. Go 5 seconds past thr click for first. Then 3 seconds past the click for second, after shaking.

I know this might be sacrilege. I do intend to have slower, tastier more mindful sessions. But the Vapman click can actually function as a fast, efficient device that can get you very medicated very quickly. It's amazing that it can do both

Happy holidays! I think the Vapman shines particularly bright during this time of the year.

I fully agree with the consensus that the OGs both look and feel better than the Click - no question about it.

But for those of you with a pure cherry, sanding down the edges just a tiny bit and then giving the untreated wood a nice finish will in my opinion make it quite a bit more personable.

This is mine after a gentle sanding and just two coatings, being noticeably smoother to the touch and more amber in colour:

I agree that the OG feels better and looks better. The CLICK is just different and a new thing that I love...but, again I cannot compare them. The OG wins out each time. My OG Purple Heart is 10 times more beautiful in my humble opinion.

I do love my CLICKS...I just have a preference.

Happy Holidays to everyone...I hope that everyone got a CLICK this Christmas!

I concur. I have so far found the click kind of underwhelming. I used it for a bit and then went back to my Applewood and Endless Knot. I don’t at all find the clicking useful, rather I find it abrupt and distracting.

Really starting to enjoy the click! I set my flame to the suggested length on the instructions, heat for 3 seconds past the click and continue drawing very lightly until I hear the cool down click. I'm getting very impressive clouds when heating it like this. Flavour is great for the first 2 heat ups but tastes quite toastey on the 3rd and final which I don't mind.

What's the required flame length? I just have been using my cheap small honest torch on the lowest settings, however the flame jumps around a lot compared to my bigger torches which are a no go on the vapman. Anyone recommend a good small torch?

The instructions suggest setting the inner blue flame to 3/4 the length of the metal filter for the the centre peice.
