Talk to the Beard
Hi Ana1! Congrats on the new Rise, I know I am loving mine :-)
Okay, this is all completely my own preferences:
380 F
Speed: 1 (it automatically selects "2" for heatup, then I turn it down after vapor starts)
Quantity: you can put a single thin layer covering the bottom of the can, or fill it nearly to the top. Make sure that little metal plunger is all he way down.
Regular Cleaning: I take the "can" and the middle piece (the one with the funky metal plunger) and drop them in 91% alcohol and let it soak for at least 15 mins (over-night if really really dirty), then I take the black bristle brush, dipping in alcohol as needed, and brush off anything I see. Once it looks clean, I rinse everything in hot water, and put it on a towel to air dry. When I'm done, it looks like brand new.
Rare Cleaning - the top pieces (single or mult tips), once a month alcohol bath.
Whips - Well, I don't use the stock whips, but the silicone whips can be cleaned in alcohol, though it doesn't seem to get the smell out, so I see it as something I will replace eventually (like the bags), though I haven't had the need after 4 mons of reg use.
Suggestions: if you like whip-mode, try a Tonic 2 whip (online for about $9) - you can attach it by using a small piece of the silicone tubing. The wider diameter tube, plus the added length, really cools down the vapor, as much as a water attachment might.
Also, if you haven't tried the bags, you really need to. I never had before getting my Rise, but wow, it's an experience.
