You can add me to the list of folks grateful for a rad old dude like Vitolo doing his thing on the internet. After deciding to get a vaporizer I did a little bit of research but not an extensive amount. Luckily I happened upon some good reviews and some detailed, specific information from Vitolo on a different forum I believe. I ordered an NO2 and felt extremely pleased about the possibilities that would soon be delivered to me in the mail. However, as it took a few days to get to me, I had some time to further research my purchase, ideally learning some tips and tricks along the way. I found this thread and began reading, for dozens of pages, a far-reaching discussion about the NO2's quality, the quality of Vapir as a company, numerous accusations (some that seemed legitimate) of fake accounts designed to boost sales.
I started to worry. I'd never invested in a product like this to anywhere near this extent, I don't even own a glass bong (lived with/friends have/bongsat many, but never owned)! But thankfully I forged a bold path ahead through the tireless acres of text that remained and came across a beacon in the darkness in the form of Vitolo's visage. Once again, offering indispensable advice, helpful tips, and generally being the best thing to come out of Arizona since the Meat Puppets, he calmed me considerably and wouldn't you know it? My NO2 came in the mail the other day!
I open the box and, with the knowledge I gleaned from the thread, took a sniff of the machine. It definitely had the electronics smell that anyone from my generation is well familiar with. But using the tips provided by Vitolo (an al bundy, another great contributor, and several others), I charged the battery while warming it up. BEFORE I did this, however, I let a circular fan blow at the unit, with battery removed (also getting fanned) to blast away the lingering packing scent. Then I plug it in and turn it on with the battery in there. I see the tiny wisp of white smoke with the top off that had been mentioned by others, which burns away completely as I continue to let it heat up and turn off while the battery charges. I also have the tubes soaking in hot water as this is happening. It's getting close to a half hour of heating up and charging and I can't wait to try it out. One thing I notice as I'm staring at it in anticipation is how much it looks like a lightsabre. I know some folks immediately thought of dildos but I think that's more them than the vaporizer. Anyway, the time finally arrives and I fine-grind (coffee grinder that has never touched coffee) some of the most crystallized bud I have ever seen. Like a goddamned winter wonderland. I start the unit from the off position and let it heat up (plugged in as it recommended an initial 12 hour charge) and around 375 I pop the top, load it up and take my first pull off of my first vaporizer.
It's glorious.
The first day I had it I got to enjoy it all day long without having to have smoked anything or felt like I smoked anything! My friends love its effectiveness, I love its efficiency, my girlfriend loves that my breath doesn't have to stink like smoke anymore. Plus it's winter now and I don't need to open a window on Sunday for my patented Get Stoned All Day And Watch Football plan, which drastically reduces the need to use my cats as warming devices.
It's been almost a week since I got it and I'm satisfied beyond belief. However, I thought since there was so much expertise in these parts that it would be a great place to ask some questions about the battery.
***Most Important and Only Really Necessary Part***
Is it better to leave it plugged in and charging most of the time? Or should it be unplugged when not in use? So far I've generally used it while plugged in since as my only vaporizer it's only had use at home (or friend's houses, but plugged in there also) and it heats up faster, but is this optimal? Basically I want to know how to extend the battery life as long as possible and whatever other tips you might have.

I think that's about it for my spiel/review. Once again I want to thank everyone who posted in this thread, regardless of their opinion or contribution, because even if they were unhelpful they were quickly debated by a different member and it all added up to a wealth of information that helped me become ecstatically happy with my vaporizer. Most of all thanks to Vitolo: you are totally awesome and the internet is awesome because of people like you.
