bundy-
wow excellent post thanks so much man, just checked USPS again and my package is en route for delivery today, so it should be here any moment...ill definitely be using your advice.

vitolo-
how does his method for cleaning/preparing new NO2 units compare with the steps your recommending new NO2 owners take with brand new units to help prevent any possible smell issues??? is it the same idea or what? also i gotta admit, i cant remember exactly what you told me to do either...sorry lol

thanks guys also i should brag that i picked up a 1/4 of some very high qualtiy nug....stuff smells amazing is very nice dense mature bud and is completely white....only thing im worried about is that it may be a tad bit too "fresh" for the vaporizer if that makes sense(overall water content)....is it best to break up some material a few hours before using it in the NO2 and let it sit out and dry out a little more?? my stuff is not wet or uncured or anything crazy like that its just very sticky, dense and seems relatively fresh.

Dry is better, but remember any vape will dry your bud in a matter of minutes, you may simply have to wait slightly longer for the nice hits you want. Remember to grind very fine!!! The average grinder can't grind the stuff too fine, so just pulverize it. You get far more out of your herb with this method.

I followed the instructions all the way.
I NEVER heated my unit to ANY temperature with it open. (Why?... because the instructions did not say to!)
I placed tube in hot water (not boiling)
I left unit open and switch in on position while the unit charged for about 2 hours.
That was the last time I ever left my unit open during charging.
If you do this you will not have any issues!
Congrats on the NO2.
It is a great 1st vape, and a great portable....
It is hard to own just one vape, guys isn't it.
They are so much fun to own and study!

I'd like to come to your house for studying if I ever get out West!! :brow:

The reason I stated to let it "burn off" is because the new unit I got had the new electric smell,
I just let it heat up a few times and alll is well, I bought mine used and all is good.
Did the same thing with the Solo too.

well im off to a bad start with the NO2, i thought everything was good but after some confusion, i just realized that i did indeed receive either a faulty unit or charger.
although im more inclined to believe its the charger since the unit does work with the battery installed, i am getting no power with the battery removed, and no indication of a charge occuring when the battery is installed and the unit is turned on.

can someone verify that the NO2 unit work and operate without a battery installed if its plugged in??

:(

Pull battery turn off switch on side, put battery back in, plug in power, turn switch on,screen should light up
Push red button and the red light should come on
Contacts of battery go in first.
Look for the bars to fill the picture of battery in the display

ya it will not power up or do anything when plugged in if i have removed the battery pack....also when its turned on(i assuming the battery came with a little charge already or something) and i plug it in, nothing changes or blinks or fills up or anything to indicate that its charging....100% positive i have a faulty charger or something along those lines since the unit WILL power on with the battery installed.

:(

oh well, i bought it from vapeworld and they have already set up for me to send it back and they will ship me out a new unit immediately. great customer service btw, very eager to help and rectify the problem.

I've gotta say, vitolo your advice has been indispensable in my quest to find the perfect vaporizer for my needs, I just felt like a sincere thank you was necessary

If you have a 12 volt power adapter you can use that to charge battery or pull battery and use the adapter alone.

its extremely enjoyable to sit here and combust my buds when i have a brand new NO2 sitting right beside me!!

like i said in my earlier post i talked to vapeworld last night and was pretty sure everything was worked out...but I attempted to call back and speak to them to iron out a few details and i could not reach the customer service agent i had JUST spoken with minutes before!
so I called back multiple times and couldn't reach anyone at all; this was during their normal business hours last night. thumbsup!

So, i got up and called them today and of course they are closed, so now it looks like i'm gonna have to wait till monday before I can even ship back the faulty charger/unit/wheatever and its looking like it will be another week at minimum, before I can vaporize.

great stuff!!
these kind of dumb problems are exactly the reasons why I havent purchased a vaporizer in the past....its just laughable I cant even get a brand spanking new NO2 unit to work out of the box.

will keep updating this thread but for me, this is definitely a huge turn off towards vaporizers.....

sigh

I just ordered the NO2, this will be my second vape, my first being a mflb. I love my MFLB, but it does cause me to cough something terrible. Hoefully the NO2 will be less harsh, we'll see......

Well, got this Friday and used it the last two evenings...wow am I impressed!!! :)

Ok, so the first eve, there was substantial plastic smell coming from the vent area. I warmed it up and let it cool down a few times to just see if the smell was a "new car kinda thing". It has dissipated quite a bit.

I used it at 375, got good vape, was very tasty, got a good amount from it. I was good off just one fill. Total different feeling too, great overall mellow feeling.

Question for those so knowledgeable here. Sometimes I just want one or two puffs, would there be any downside/detriment to the unit to fill it 1/4-1/2 with product? Just to get one or two good vapes?

There's a screen in the bowl area that sits on the bottom of the bowl.
You can pull it out and instead of putting it back all the way down,
use a Bic pen or something similar to put it back in say half way or even 3/4 the way in.
This will make the bowl a little smaller,so the screen won't rest on the bottom of the bowl.
Someone posted it here and I also saw it on you tube just search "No2".
Or just put less in, and dump out the rest when done.

I saw the same vid, and did try it.
I still prefer the units function with the screen down in original spot... BUT...
I do use 1/2 and even 1/4 sized loads.... I have used amounts tinier than what fits into a RockZap stem.
That tiny amount you put in will still likely give you a full session.
You can stop the unit....
and when cool empty the contents...
then later you can reheat the unit, and reinsert those removed herbs for more.
It does not work well to re heat unit while herb is in there.
Enjoy the NO2 it is a great 1!

Your disappointment is more than a little bit understandable.
I have a Vapor genie
It works... I have not taken it out of the box in a year though.
VapeWorld is a very reputable Distributor, with a reputation for speed.
My packages from them arrive in 48 hours.
Try to avoid "working yourself into a frenzy" over having to wait a couple of days for your NO2.
I own a couple dozen vapes.
I have tried most vapes that are already in public distribution.

My NO2 is one of those tools that I use EVERY day! ;)

:/ well i don't think the Vapor Genie is a better vaporizer by any means, but i'm pretty sure i would at least receive a working product out of the box.

VapeWorld seemed helpful at first, but like i said, when i called back moments later I wasnt able to reach a single rep on the phone and this was during their normal business hours. I called multiple times after that and was not able to reach anyone even the guy who had just given me his extension.

Also, I was not offered any compensation or an apology or anything for my troubles and I will have to pay for the return shipping....did i mention the part where I had paid extra money for express shipping in the first place?

needless to say, i'm extremely disappointed with VapeWorld, VAPIR and the NO2 so far....

im having a hard time convincing my combusting friends and family members that this is simply some bad luck and that these electronic vaporizers are actually reliable and worth a damn....my father(who i'm trying to convert to vaporizing) is completely turned off by this and basically said he didnt want a vaporizer even though i've been hinting at getting him one for an Xmas present.

when I was telling one of my friends i had ordered an NO2 he said "i heard all vaporizers suck and are shit unless you spend like a thousand bucks on a volcano!"

maybe hes right??? :/

i could just stick to combustion...i'm about to smoke a bowl right now and really i do love it.... im thinking maybe I should just return the NO2 and spend my money on some new glass pieces and maybe a VG SS Coil since you can get them for so cheap that way its not a big deal if it doesnt work.

Things happen, and you should relax as best you can.
My first Iolite came non functional and had to be sent back and I also had to pay for the shipping.
We all have NO choice but to face an occasional glitch.
You are a part of this Universe and you know that we do NOT get to choose whose turn it is to not get a perfect deal!
It happens with cars.
Years ago I had to return a brand new Peugot... and they fought tooth and nail to try to repair my new "LEMON" rather than replace it. After 4 months in court I was given a new car under the brand new "Lemon Law".
I had a switch problem on my unit that needed repair, and my unit was replaced under warranty. I had to pay shipping.
I had to pay shipping to repair my NO2
I had to pay shipping for warranty work on an SSV
I had to pay shipping to replace my BRAND NEW Iolite.
That's life.

I am saying stop fighting and squirming... and the time will go faster and it will hurt less... it has only been a couple of days, and you are upset with TWO COMPANIES!
***PLEASE NOTE***
I have taken the liberty of contacting one of the directors at Vapir on your behalf. I have directed him to this thread and to your most posts. I told him about your disappointment over this entire situation, and perhaps he can help push Vapeworld to move along in a more expedient fashion.

not sure how Vapir can help....at this point getting them involved will simply mean more delays and headaches....probably some apologies thrown in as well for good measure.

i can also thank VapeWorld and VAPIR for my recent purchase(s) of dank nugs that cost an arm and a leg and are completely unaffordable for myself under normal circumstances....if i knew i was gonna be combusting for 2 more weeks I would not have purchased meds that are too expensive to burn.
