I mainly use my VH on dry pipes, I like the addition of a quartz bowl!

You know, now that I look at it a tad closer, the bowl out on the end with now a hollow glass quartz tube ‘inside’ the quartz heater tube…I wonder if you heat down low by the intake holes, will that internal tube heat up enough to create a mini-Electropath style heated chamber for the vapor to pass through?

I’m not saying it would be anywhere on the same level, mostly tongue in cheek…

Regularly use my Vaphit X but funnily enough completely forgot there are two quartz heaters in the kit 😂. So far have only used the smaller one. How does the thicker heater compare? What heater do you use?

Which one is thicker or are you talking about the newer x versions vs the old

The vaphit x quartz caps

The vaphit x quartz caps are made with thicker glass than the regular so they hold heat a bit better.

If slick got the vaphit x kit then it comes with 2 thick glass caps, one has 1mm holes (for sipping) and the other 1.5mm (for ripping).

I've tried all 4 types and I do prefer the 1mm thick x cap but the difference between the is not too noticeable imo.

Currently i own a dani v3, fusion, stunner and tempest, and vaphit x.

Yet i keep reaching for the cheapest of the batch.
do you have a version 1 (without the star piece in the stem) ? Would you recommend it also (if i were not able to get a v2?) ?

I've just got the QoQ yesterday and was curious if anyone here has it? The first hit was very tasty, but honestly not much better than what I get from my TM2 (maybe I just had my expectations way too high, considering it's a 1/5th of the price). Has anyone managed to get a one hit extraction with it (or just has general guidance on how to get that with quartz TEDs)?

I am still waiting for my QOQ but I have the X and terpcicle so feel fairly confident in terms of heating. I would say start with a smaller torch (small blazer or double/triple pocket) and start heating near the intake holes and slowly up and down whilst turning. Keep the flame a little away from the quartz in order to gradually build up the heat. You can either wait for the flame to go yellow and then heat for 3-5 more seconds or a more accurate method is to look for when the herbs start to turn golden brown and then stop.

That should be pretty close to one hit extraction. Beware the heat takes a little while to transfer from the heater to the bowl so it is possible to overdo the heating. Take a test puff to see where you are after waiting a few seconds.

I don't have a TM2 but the fact that it is so much cheaper and you are saying flavor it is a little better is pretty good.

I use a dyna cap/stem and wand on the vaphit x tip works a treat, I just got the vaphit x kit w/ball stem. It's a beasty stem works great, takes a few hits to get the steel stem hot. Super cool for the 1st hits. I use a ss mesh bowl screen inverted in the tip to make a 1/2 bow,l w/out the extra heat mass of a converter ring.
way impressed by the value of this lil beast

Yeah it’s a great performer. Rather than completely filling the metal stem I now only put in 4 or 5 balls plus the star. This really opens up the vape and reduces draw resistance.

i personally never use half bowl settings but just put in less material with the screen set full bowl. Seems to work just as well.

I'm just pushing the original screen past the additional holes in the chamber (have a 8mm "tool" to make it easier). Holds reasonably well.
But could you give me a tip, where to find a converter ring - looking for my convector. Thanks.

yes same here, works really nice with small amounts.
out of curiosity, does anyone who owns a tempest or anvil or danivap etc thinks they offer anything substantially different than the vaphit? i am really quite happy with it - just feel like trying sth new i suppose. but i find this really hard to justifie as the vaphit performs so well?

the inverted bowl screen tucked into the tip does the same job w/out adding heat mass, super cheap.
using the halo on the vap x stem this morning, great combo, industrial tool chic, but I probably won't reach for this heavy weight very often.
I'll try it with fewer balls, I'm not a torch guy so i use IH/dynacap

ps like it w/less balls but I'm gonna make an intercooler for it and see how that plays, way easier to clean than the balls.
