Vaphit Quartz Cap -

Perfect_Speed4069

I am the beetle in a box that only you can see
out of curiosity, does anyone who owns a tempest or anvil or danivap etc thinks they offer anything substantially different than the vaphit?
I have the QC.,Tempest and Fusion. The QC is truly excellent and - like the other devices - can crush 0.1g very very quickly.

The key difference is portability: Both the Tempest and Fusion fit nicely in the QC case, alongside the QC, but unlike the QC, neither "needs" a case, and both will survive a 50 foot drop onto a hard floor.

Although both Fusion and Tempest have variable air flow, the QC is probably more open than either, ime.

If I was to go for an upgrade, bang for buck, I'd go for the Fusion cap and tip on a WPA. It's super easy, really robust, and extremely powerful.

They're all excellent and all have their niche in my collection.

Have my QOQ now and have done a bit of testing. Can confirm it's another good one from Vaphit. Probably the best flavor of all their devices. I have done gentle roasts and huge one and done hits. The triple torch seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Feels quite restrictive in terms of airflow. Probably as it lacks the carb of the X. The stem really does a great job of cooling the vapor though. The bowl size is smaller than the X. I did read somewhere that you can invert it to make it larger but it seems very tight so I have been too afraid to force it and break the bowl. (Edit - I just did break the bowl so I'd definitely only recommend using in standard orientation)

All in all it's very nice but it is fragile. I'd still say the X is the best overall vape in their lineup due to it being so versatile for the price. It's much more portable, can be used natively use in glass, you can use it with Dynavap caps if you want (although quartz is much the better experience for me personally in terms of flavor and heat retention), which opens it up to IHs, plus it has a larger bowl.

Thanks for the follow up. Waiting for delivery on mine (delayed at lacentralevapeur).
Regarding airflow: do you use the X with open carb, how do the airflows compare with the carb closed?
I've ordered a second X Metal stem, because I really like the feeling, handling (carbhole is so much better to close with your finger, than with any of my other stems) and the cooling.

So for the X I have been using the stem with 3 or 4 balls plus ruby star at the bowl end. This is much more open than filling the whole stem. So now I tend to use with carb closed and very occasionally feather it and the end of the draw. Whereas before I was having to use it much more open or take gentle MTL draws to use.

Yeah, i had mine filled to the brim, but the last ball always blocks the chamber after 1-2 bowls.
So I misunderstood you about the carb, but have an idea about the restrictions on the qoq.

Do you mean a ball blocks the airflow draw from the bowl? This is why I put the ruby star in the top of the stem (nearest the bowl). It prevents a ball entering the channel and creating an airtight seal.

I have seen others talk about using the star at the mouthpiece end to prevent the balls coming out the mouthpiece. I just use a screen in there to stop that (unscrew the mouthpiece and the screen clicks in that piece.)

There doesn't seem to be definitive instructions on how it's meant to be put together hence the different ways people seem to use it!

that's why the ruby star, bet using all ruby stars would work great! I'm trying spiral now and it is a bit hotter vapor.

That’s how I use mine I thought I saw it in their instructions or a video somewhere. I use like 4-5 balls anymore messes up the air flow imo.

I’m surprised that people are saying the QoQ has a smaller bowl that doesn’t really make sense to me

Vaphit X bowl is definitely larger than QOQ. I would say roughly 1.5 times larger.
