Vapor usually dissipates instantly, but heavy vapor from the cloud can stay smoke-like for a good while after your exhale. That might have made him think it combusted.
If it really did, then that is major malfunction
FWIW, almost every time there is a combustion case with a normally functioning cloud, the ELB was overpacked.
After ~4 months of daily usage, I have still yet to combust in the cloud even at max temp on an older red/green unit.

Anybody else notice certain vapes favor certain strains?
A few weeks back a buddy and I did a serious test of the INH004 and the Cloud. We had Blue Russian at the time. I preferred the INH taste wise (but barely) while my friend liked the cloud better. To me they both captured the sweet taste of the BR nicely and it was close.
Well this week I have some Mango Kush. It was my first experience with this strain, but it smells of mangos very strongly. Smoking it will destroy the flavor pretty fast (had to try).
Out of the cloud on 12 oclock, this strain was DELICIOUS!! I seriously have never tasted such a tasty vape hit before. My friend who already liked the cloud better was even more siding with the cloud. Imagine a fruity hookah without all that shitty chemical wax taste, plus nice herb mixed in. After 5-6 delicous hits the mango fades and it just tastes like average-good shit.
With the Cloud, the mango scent is so strong there is no missing it. You leave the room and come back and mango hits you in the face. My dry bent mouthpiece tastes like mango so strong that I keep hitting it not even attached to the cloud. It's really good.
We also tried this strain with the INH and it was a massive dissapointment. Literally not one whiff of mango the entire time, even somewhat of a bitter taste showed up that wasn't there with the cloud. We tried 3-4 back to back experiments doing the same thing trying different temps on the INH and same result.
I still feel really lucky to have both tools in my arsenal. It really does seem like certain strains occasionally have magic combo with certain vapes and you just have to mess around to find it.

nice; never seen midnight urkel, but I have some purpel urkel; are they related? PU is one of my all time favorites. I definitely rank it higher than the Mango and Blue Russian. And it tastes amazing in the cloud for sure. Almost a lavender taste. But for some reason I *really* enjoy purple urkel out of a bowl. I rarely ever smoke bowls these days cept a small hit to try a new strain, but the urkel is so good in a bowl. Holds taste better. Just funny because the mango is nothing special in a bowl, opposite behavior.

Ok cool :-). I've updated the Vaporpedia page and put the 1.0 Evolver's in the discontinued section and added the new 2.0's. If by any chance you have some high quality photos of other discontinued HydraTubes I would love to put them on the Vaporpedia page as well.
They look like fantastic tubes, and I really don't know which HydraTube I would order today if I had the choice. I do, however, love my Evolver HydraTree 1.0 :-)

I would love to get different opinions from cloud owners on the best tasting herb. More importantly which ones cause less coughing and irritation in the cloud. I have noticed diff strains cause me to cough worse or get more irritation at the same temps.

Speaking of Swagger, I got the Swagger Showercap HT yesterday. Gotta say I'm impressed with the piece! I originally imagined it would be less smooth than my Evolver Hydracirc v1, but surprisingly hits seem smoother and tastier than the hydracirc. The mouth piece is a bit small, it reminds me of a flared Toro Macro mouth piece. I enjoy it a ton so far, totally worth it! Love the bent neck and the sheer tastiness of rips out of this piece. I'll try to post some vids/pics in the next few days.
first dude was workin on some HT's and the second dude in the video is the owner. i have a lot more clips of the HT making process with the splash guards, he was explaining the process of putting them in and all that. you'll see soon enough

I hit my Cloud with the dry tube for the first time and was surprised by how cool and comfortable it was...so much so that I didn't grab my bubbler afterward. And the taste was sick! The dry tube allows me to take the Cloud to bed...it's like having a giant, all-glass log vape.
