I don't know if any of guys have tried this yet, but I just tired something I think some of you would be interested in. I noticed my PD stem would mate up and actually seal on the edge of the joint on my VXC, with very little pressure. The tip of the stem sticks in exactly as far as the ELB. I got excited and quickly packed a bowl, and it turned out to be the best PD bowl I've ever had! It works perfectly, and I think the rips are a bit thicker than vaping the same amount in a ELD through a HT. I'm really happy right now, I miss my PD bowls, and my PD is so old and beat up now, and it's always had that hint of wood taste. Even the PD stems in the cloud taste so much cleaner!

Just make sure your power inverter has correct amp/sufficient wattage.

Mine is working flawlessly :) will do some review soon.

If you read my post you'll see I said I checked the cloud with a tester and its dead, my power inverter works perfect acording to the tester, I used to plug my VHW and had no problem, its a 500 watts power inverter.

The Cloud start working but died after 10 minutes of being pluged in for the first time, I didnt use it at all.

Now I have to shipp my unit back to California, and pay 50 bucks more, I just hope to have a new and flawless unit like yours soon and with no shipping back costs.

Thank you anyway.

I'm late to the party here, but is VXC not reimbursing customers for shipping costs on faulty units?

Others had comented that the shipping to california isnt reimbursed, they give extra bowls to "compensate" but I hope that at least I have the shipping back to Spain payd by them, since I'll be paying customs anyway.

Not sure why the concern about others shipping fees but I was not reimbursed, nor did I ask to be, for shipping a malfunctioning Cloud back via insured USPS.

I would agree that a malfunctioning/DOA unit should be sent back on the sellers shipping dime, I just chose to not push the $14 issue in which I'm sure if I did Phil would have accommodated. No biggie.

The replacement unit has been absolutely stunning in terms of efficiency. This thing rocks! I find myself using an inverted GVG as a mouthpiece when I don't want to deal with the HT. It works extremely well and not at all harsh/hot on my throat. YMMV. The noon position has been just perfect for me, a 3 year daily SSV user.

Completely even ABV, totally depleted of goodness, w/o stirring!! Nice.

My daughter gave me a tiny eyebrow brush similar to the two on the left here: http://www.topmascara.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/mascara_20wand.jpg
that makes quick work of cleaning out an ELB of some of the finer bits.

So I finally got rid of my vape collection. That's how content I am with the VXC:

EuN61.jpg

Not the best cutting job, but this was only my first time. However, I'm down to just my CRZ, my VXC and my LaunchBox. I've given away a Volcano classic and a half-dozen other vapes to local friends since I can't really imagine needing another set of tools for the job.

Any other vapes I wind up buying I imagine will be of the portable nature only for the foreseeable future.

If you're a total noob like I am, you might as well watch a pro cut up the foam. His advice of an electric carver and a sharpie were particularly useful and I had no real issue other than that ugly cut where I put my glass tooties and such. In the case of the Seahorse cases on Amazon like this one, you're going to want to lop off the upper third of the foam inside the case and then cut that out and slip it back into the case. Thanks to PoopMachine for the PROTIP on the Seahorse cases!

Seriously, all VXC owners should be thinking hard cases if they have about $70~ for the case, carver and sharpies. It only takes about 30 minutes to cut it up and most of that is planning your layout. I no longer feel remotely paranoid about storing my equipment.

i think i overmedicated.
Anyone try the cloud with a Sovereignty Recycler? I snagged one up today. I might go buy an adapter and give it a whirl.

Those recyclers look pretty bossy and I wish I had access to one. I looked it over and I was wondering if it was just for oils or if it could be used for flowers too (with the cloud) I like the shape of it! I am sure it would be very good! Let us know what you find out...

After seeing this pic, i think i know why the vxc's seem to be running different temps ( some cooler vs some hot). It has to do with the size of the restriction/hole that your looking at in this pic. In the cooler ones the hole is bigger, and the ones with smaller holes run hotter. Anyone care to measure their holes? Lol that's sounded funny!

I bet the software and everything else is exactly the same between the hot and cold vxcs.

Can't stop the head rush!
Hmmmm you might be on to something. Although people with hotter units claim it is too hot to hold. Mine which i thought was runnimg warm never was even close to being to hot to hold, although I never tried it hotter than noon.

OK, that certainly could be the answer (the hole). Mine runs hot, I never push it past 12:00 and the rips are amazing- even lower than 12:00. And it gets pretty warm- but I am getting used to it more and more. I mean, it doesn't burn my hands ever, and now I like the nice warm feeling it gives off. Especially when it's cold and rainy like it has been the last few days.

My hole is much wider than the hole in that picture, and my buddy's cloud is the same. I'm not sure about his, but my sweet spot is exactly the noon position. My unit doesn't get too hot hold, but it does get pretty warm after about 20 minutes, I actually like the warmth.

Can we get a pic of what your abv loks like at 9?
Is it too hot to hold at the bottom?

the case being too hot for you to hold may not equal a defective cloud.

Gang-THE CASING WILL BE HOT, ESPECIALLY AT THE TOP. Only the abv can tell you if your unit works.

At noon I can grab my cloud no prob, but I have friends who are unable to touch the top half. Bottom line is abv is a nice even brown, not dar, not light, just right.

My unit unfortunately is indeed defective. It a gamble when I turn it on if it'll heat up and turn green or if it'll just wildly ramp up. It's actually combusted twice within a relatively short period of time being on. VXC has offered warranty replacement but unfortunately I'm literally about to move to an entirely different state, so I'm waiting for that to be settled before I do an exchange. In the meantime, I continue to use it happily enough even though I have to babysit it.

Just to stress this: Even my defective Cloud is still very enjoyable. That sure says something.

The one thing I really think people need to keep in mind here is that they should assume good faith when people are reporting issues. I felt earlier that others were implying that since their units get 'hot' but not 'really hot' that perhaps my own issue was an exaggeration or perhaps imaginary, which certainly isn't the case given I've outright seen a bowl glow after being removed from the unit, since the herb had ignited -- and it was only on for about twenty~thirty minutes at the 10 O'Clock setting. I want to stress I am /not/ leaving the unit on all day and then combusting, there's a weird heat spike issue out there.

However -- I have faith in VXC that these issues are going to be resolved and that I will be taken care of, but for now there's going to be people who will be posting about their issues. Telling them to prove it or otherwise questioning about them seems a bit needlessly defensive over a product that just launched and has acknowledged issues being ironed out. People are going to be disappointed and frustrated when they have an issue and they simply want to be heard and feel like they're not going to be screwed over.

So really, don't sweat it if people have issues. No one is going to remember them existing once the manufacturing issues disappear. It'll be all smooth clouds from there.
