A properly functioning Cloud is truly something to behold!

I find it amazing that such a product could be created and brought to market without a properly funded full time team. I can't wait until stonemonkey can get rid of his day job, really commit time to making sure things don't get squirly with manufacturing, and create the next best thing since ground herb! I can only imagine how great a vxl portable would be!

No doubt it truly would be something to behold, I can imagine its already somewhat in the works, while I know most of our favorite portables are electric but I would kill for the torch powered Vapexhale Rain if anyone else remembers the video before they took it down when they had to be a bit more subtle about their herbs.
The fact that the international version is nearly here is killing me, I have been itching for this for a long time, I am pleased that I'll be getting a Cloud plus though I liked the whole ticking action that the originals had.
Its true what you say sticks, its great that VXL have come this far and I'm sure they will come up with more great things.

I don't suppose anyone knows if the video of SM55 hitting the VXC before it had its heat shield on is still around? It was great for showing the development of the product.

So I was about to buy a Cloud after reading all the good things about them, but they're sold out. Anyone know how long they're usually out of stock for?

Another post a couple days ago relayed that VXL had informed him that they had received a bad batch of control boards (or possibly incorrectly done firmware; that device sits on the board) and until that was resolved, shipments are on hold. AFAIK they have not before been "out of stock" of the Cloud itself (in the sense of being out of inventory).

Hey guys,

It's discouraging to hear the problems with the cloud plus. I was gonna buy it from this website http://www.vaporizers.ca/store.php/category_id/171 but I'm wondering if I should wait because of the faulty boards/firmware. Does anyone know which batch have problems and if the shipments that were already sent out are effected? I've been waiting to buy a cloud for a few months and everytime I'm gonna pull the trigger something stops me. First it was all the defects, and so I waited for the cloud plus but now it seems it's still not safe to buy. LOL. I understand that things like this happen, but I HATE to have to return/buy a defective product.

The base model is 449.99 and includes shipping and taxes. Not a bad deal, but I'm wondering if there is a cheaper place to buy the hydratubes? Their hydracirc 2.0 package is 629.99, not a very good deal.

Nice looking rig! I'd love to see a video of it :)

Speaking of videos, there's a video that I've been trying to track down for ages...Someone posted it in either this Cloud thread, or the original one. The video showed someone hitting several massive ELBs through cool custom HydraTube combinations (stacked). The video was hosted on some lesser known video hosting site than YouTube, and was posted here a couple times. I just want to show this to other people and can't find it...I'm sure someone else here knows what I'm talking about! Sorry for the random post...here's a pic to stay on topic; How I started my morning :)

It was the CEO doing a demo on SF New Tech TV, the stacking madness begins around 4:00:

When you said that I immediately thought of JohnDeere who had a custom stackable hydratube made long before the 2.0 HT's came out, it had particularly long tree arms to prevent splashback.

He introduced it to the thread here:
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapexhale-cloud.5247/page-164

Unfortunately the pictures have since been removed. . .

There's a great post by Seek on that page with pictures/videos of the originally available hydratubes.

Haha... That's the video that I pirated with my iphone gansta style.

Thanks, I've seen this, but still not what I'm looking for...The video I recall, was posted by some random person, from a side angle, in a bedroom or something. much more fast paced...

Still, I love the one you posted!

Purpl3_Haz3,
Do they make ash catchers that have their entry point from the bottom like a hydratube? If so, what are these things called? Words and google have failed me.
this is the closest I have found. Just a basic circ. Found it at a local headshop. Gotta get a female/female adapter though.

0b1c8e85.jpg

Well they're not exactly like a HydraTube but were around way before them...the 2012BC top hat percs that are part of his Lego-style bubblers. I can't believe NO ONE on FC talks about BC glass (except the guy with one for sell in the Classifieds), it's some of the best glass I've seen besides SG and Mobius. I'm saving up to buy one of his Top Hat percs so I can have a HT-like piece with gridded diffusion. Just gotta add a female-to-female adapter and a BC bubbler mouthpiece (it's cheaper than non-gridded HTs too, it just can't stand by itself). Here's a pic of it...

Just substitute the bubbler for the Cloud and now you have a gridded water piece above your Cloud not called a HT. ;)
Pretty much the exact piece I have.

Wow this recent email has me pretty perplexed!! Last Tuesday Bryan told me on the phone that my cloud plus was ready to ship out (in a day or so) and that I could've gotten it by last weekend. Well its been over a week now and no updates from them. I emailed this morning asking what was up. I have no idea if this is in any way a reply to me or just a general mail to everybody waiting on upgrades.... but it speaks for itself:

Here is a letter from the CEO:
Valued VapeXhale Customer,
First off, I know that all of you have been patiently waiting to get your updated, and improved VapeXhale Cloud vaporizer. We thank you and appreciate your patience.
While our company has been riding on the high of winning the latest Medical Cannabis Cup, we have run into some manufacturing difficulties as we have been transitioning from our initial manufacturer to our current manufacturer.
The newer facility is larger, has more capacity, and more ISO certifications. We were very excited to start our new relationship with a bang and announced that every new VapeXhale Cloud would have a two year instead of a one year warranty. Unfortunately, due to some miscommunication between both parties, we got the short end of the stick and our manufacturing line was given to a larger customer.
Due to this unforeseen hiccup, we are doing what any company that cares about its customers would do. Instead of pointing fingers, we are simply taking all of our inventory and building these units ourselves. While this is not a good long term solution for us, it will allow us to begin sending out your replacement units sooner than later.
We have a small internal team that is being trained by our head engineer to put these units together. It will take us a little bit longer as we don't have the same type of tools available to us but it is nothing a little blood, sweat, and tears won't be able to solve. We hope that you guys can wait a few more weeks while we get these built out but if anyone wants a refund, we'd be happy to issue that as well.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. Believe us, we tried our best to make this happen in an expedited manner and have no choice but to take this into our own hands. I hope you can understand the difficulty we went through (even though it is none of your own fault) and hope that you can work with us as we frantically try and resolve all of these issues.

Regards,
Seibo Shen

I think this was sent to everyone with orders placed right now. I've been waiting a month for mine and have been told each week since ordering that I would be receiving it later that week. In fact, earlier this week I was given a guarantee that I'd have it no later than tomorrow. Maybe their situation progressively got worse unexpectedly lengthening the delays? It's frustrating nonetheless to have $500 tied up in a product that I supposedly will receive before the end of the week every week. But I don't see the point in asking for a refund since I'd inevitably place another order once they're readily available. I might as well keep my place in line.

I'm really really confused.... where do they get the nerve promising that these things are basically ready when it turns out the manufacturing deal wasn't even nailed down? And I'm not talking about pre-sale nonsense, I'm talking about the PERSONAL emails VXL sent offering upgraded Cloud Plus's including telling me my unit was ready to send out WEEKS ago, sending the wrong unit, then telling me since then it was done and ready to ship.... now not even being built yet.....

Well got this in reply... if so then it gives me hope about the higher temps:

"Our last batch of units were done, but they didn't meet our required temperature range, So they had to be rebuilt."

So at least we won't get luke warm clouds :)

That's sad to hear they got the short end of the stick after doing so well in the cup competitions. For the company sake I hope they are able to overcome this lastest hurdle.

@SM55--We're on opposite coasts but I have lots of spare time to help assemble Clouds!!! Also only 1 block away from a U.S.P.S. for shipping.

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in here as honestly, its been a rough and brutal few weeks for us. The dates that we were giving our customers were the dates that were promised to us. There is really no sense in airing any dirty laundry between us and the folks that are assembling our units but after the first batch of the new Clouds went out without the right temperature, we had to do more investigating onsite.

Like I said, we can point fingers at them, they can point fingers at us, but at the end of the day, that doesn't get you guys who have been patiently waiting for their Clouds any sooner. Just like the email said, we're doing things the old fashioned way now, we're building them ourselves. Some of you will get tracking numbers tomorrow, some will get them next week. At least this way, we can test each one individually before they go out as we make contingency plans for how we will scale up production again.

Obviously this is shitty news and I don't blame anyone for being pissed off. All I can say is that all of us are rolling up our sleeves and putting these things together as fast as we can without losing any attention to detail. Again, while we were communicating to the customers what was communicated to us, we have to accept full responsibility for the delay. For those that can be patient with us, you will be rewarded with a kick ass vape. I know that a few of you guys that already got the properly functioning Cloud+ can attest to that. OK, no more typing for me, back to building.

Well, I've been in monkeyman's shoes before and it sucks. Nothing can be more discouraging than being ready to take that next great big step and instead be taking several steps backward.

I hope that everyone who reads the last few posts can respond like silver420surfer. We all need to remember that monkeyman is just a guy like one of us...a vapor enthusiast who wants a better experience and who also has a full life's worth of responsibilities. A lesser character would have said everyone will have to wait until it gets sorted out. Instead, we get a guy with a full time job and a family building Clouds in his spare time because that's what it fucking takes right now.

This should be a reminder to everyone who comes here to complain that even if you don't like how things are going at first, at least you are dealing with a company that will do whatever it takes to make it right.

Now I'm gonna hit a nice ELB of sour diesel in honor of the vxl crew and all they are doing to get us the finest vapor possible!

Man - it sucks for the little guy trying to make it in our economy. Unfortunately, companies like your manufacturer don't usually make decisions based on ethics but in fact on what help's the bottom line.

SM55 - you'll pull through this as I am sure this wasn't your first and certainly will not be the last hiccup you encounter. That same blood, sweat, and tears that you speak of is also responsible for those awards you won.

Now - build those fucking units so we could quiet the haters and show em' why the cloud deserves some respect!

Dilemma: Order the Cloud now, add to the pressure on VXH to get units built by hand, make for more stress. OR
Order the Cloud now, reassure VXH that we believe in them, and trust that they have it in hand.

I'm gonna ponder that for a few...

Low-temp Vaporist reporting in. I've been blissfully driving the Cloud daily now for the past 2 months. On average my Cloud hits the track for about 4 hours a day. I've been giving it a run for it's money making sure it gets put through its paces every time. It never fails to prove that it's a worthy machine built to evenly toast my green. I'm a hardcore subscriber to powder fine grinds and I'm always pleased that the Cloud blows through them with minimal effort and no stirring necessary. Just a few taps of the hot ELB and behold golden duff lightly toasted to perfection every time. The Cloud always gets the job at hand done efficiently with precision and accuracy. I'm proud to say that I'm a very satisfied Cloud owner and VapeXhale Inc. customer!
