Hey do you guys get thrown into serious coughing fits when using the cloud? It like dries up my throat even on the lowest temp and I end up coughing my brains out.
In addition to the good feedback above (THC) being a very effective expectorant, I am too someone with very sensitive lungs. Where it stem's from I don't know considering I swam competitively up to USS/D1 level for 20 years, and didn't start noticing this until a few years after retirement. I felt it was a combination of the damage I did with combustion, and then in 2010 I got swine flu and pneumonia and ever since that my lung sensitivity has gone way up.
One thing that I have noticed that aids my ability to get less irritation is: all glass vapor path, water diffusion, and I always suck on, or after menthol infused lozenge's like halls. I prefer the basic menthol flavor but as long as it has menthol and produces menthol vapor my irritation is greatly reduced. In addition, tell your doctor you randomly get wheezy breathing, and they will prescribe you a albuterol inhaler. I've had long discussions with many doctors and there general opinion is that albuterol is a safe and benign (in terms of side effects) medicine that does a good job at soothing and opening up bronchial passages. Vapor does cause inflammation and I've always found that after a long session of vaping 1 puff and proper yogic inhalation of albuterol completely soothes the irritation.
Finally one thing that is not advised is to use a albuterol inhaler more then 2 puffs every 4 hours, as any more then that can place some stress on your heart as albuterol does raise blood pressure and heart rate temporarily.
A consultation with a doctor is also not a bad idea depending on how comfortable you are discussing your habits.
[Edit] -- I just wanted to add, that prior to my health incident in June (from which I've had to let my body heal before I can start running/biking again) I noticed that when I did regular cardiovascular exercise I coughed less and my felt little irritation when vaporizing.
It's well known that exercise strengthens the lungs and makes them work more efficiently and I encourage anyone to do the same, even walking 2 miles a day is going to have an impact.
