Can other Cloud owners try this and see if there is a different result? What's supposed to happen, no glow after you turn off? Just darkness?

Sorry to say but I think you'll use this as a learning experience. Should have waited for the international unit to come out. My unit works flawlessly on any and all water devices

Oh yeah ... and to respond to an earlier question ... the member who sold it to me says he loved his Cloud, and he's sorry to see it go, but can't justify keeping that much money tied up in something that's not getting used (and since he's not vaping very often these days, the Cloud is just overkill ...)
My first Cloud behaved like this. Just wispy, barely any vapor at noon. Someone had posted their experience and it was basically "4 large rips and the ABV is toasted evenly brown" and it was that comment I used to determine my Cloud was defective. 4 large rips produced still green ABV at noon. Phil had asked me to do this to determine if it was defective: Set it on high and let it come up to temperature in a dark room. Shut if off and look down the glass tube, do you see a red glow? Yes = defective. Like I mentioned, this is what Phil had me do to determine if mine was defective before he sent a replacement. That was back in Apr, not sure if this is standard troubleshooting today.
That's a pretty negative attitude ... I like to believe the best in people and why wouldn't I buy a lightly used unit? If this is indeed defective, although it's a pain, assuming the person that sold it to me did so in good faith, since it had the issue before I got it, hopefully VXC will be able to honour it ... otherwise, I should be able to send it back to him for a refund (less shipping or whatever we workout since like I said ... I believe he sold it to me in good faith) ... after which he can make a warranty claim if he wishes if this is deffective (and not just user error and me not able to get it figured out yet!)Sorry to say but I think you'll use this as a learning experience. it is still outside of the US and I believe they classify it still as international. Honestly I'm just adding to the discussion. I have a great working awesome cloud!! lol

@vape4life, I believe the abv is getting dark enough on mine for my liking ... at about the 3:00 position.

^^^^+1 HUGE variance in cloud production depending on herb quality. JCat really needs to try some kief in there!
I did the experiment again after the Cloud cooled down, but this time at 12:00 until it went green. Turned it off, definite red glow again.
Hopefully Troi or SM chime in on this..
JCat, mine doesn't take alot of hits to get the abv brown, but the abv isn't as brown as it should be (i think) even on max temp.
What are you talking about? International unit? This guy is a Canuck, we're on 110v here just like our neighbours to the south.
Hmmmm, I can empathize with that...almost am in his shoes, but not quite yet. I'm just wondering if you are having the same experience as I did when I first received mine, being so used to the EQ and Solo. I just wasn't initially floored because it didn't "milk" like I saw in the vids. However, it's pretty hard to be looking at the HT and judging properly...maybe i'll look in a mirror lol
So does your replacement Cloud NOT have the red glow after you turn it off??
Not to worry, it is typical not to see your shipping/tracking info until 24 hours after it is generated. This is just an observation I have made watching VXL operate, and I think it relates to managing consumer expectations, but this is pure speculation on my part. I wouldn't worryI paid yesterday for my vape + express shipping and never got any confirmation of shipment info just a confirmation of my order. I forgot to mention that as I too experimented with different draw speeds, and yeah I recall Weedemon saying that those with monster lungs will be at an advantage. Pull hard, and you'll probably snap through those ELBs much quicker.
$120 inc. return shipping? wow, that's up there....no need to use the original box though, just wrapped in bubble wrap and then an appropriately sized box since no HT and shouldnt cost more than $30 to get there.
I guess VXL doesn't pick up the tab for the return shipping?

Edit: Session before meeting ... AWESOME ... put elb in, took 3 huge draws:
- 1st ... large cloud, took about half the pull to get going
- 2nd ... very large cloud, went the whole time
- 3rd ... wispy ... not particularly worth it.
Next time (to attempt)
- 1st ... primer ... going for wispy
- 2nd ... large
- 3rd ... large
