it didn't actually... but, I did lose a VXN today. My quartz one. right above the ring, it broke the upper extension.

Would glass "glue" work? I was also thinking of taking it to a glass blower for repair. Thoughts?

Oh, and it probably broke because getting "ding"'d with with HT every time I lift it off introduced micro-cracks or something.

It takes a lot of conscious effort to not ding on lift. I've probably done it half to 3/4 of the time. Gonna try to be more aware :rip:

Ok that was some awesome info. I knew I was doing it at too high a heat. I always had it @ 2:00
I'm just so old to be making brownies; So what kind of bubbler would you suggest. Have you ever used cotton. I hear it helps to cool it down. I'm just so sad. I can handle the t-break but forever? I know about möbius but they are so expensive. How many slits. Should I make it bigger so the vapor has time to cool? I'm so clueless. I never thought it would come down to this. I love this site because everyone has been so patient with me. Thanks I'm writing all these tips down.
He mentioned the mobius ion which is a classic piece. Its up in the $400+ range but you can get a similar one for around $47 (when yingming restocks the GB187) or you can spend about $30 with sunshine store on the D020-D not as good as yingming but still a great piece that from the sound of it is pretty close.

This thread is pretty big but just search around lots of great info:

I can't really add much more that hasn't already been posted. The piece posted just above by @SD_haze is a good example, with the row of fine slits looks like it delivers a lot of small bubbles. And as @olivianewtonjohn posted, in the cheap-high-quality-bubbler thread there are many examples. Yes, the thread is long, but fwiw when I was looking for the same answers as you are it paid off to slog through threads like that.

No, I've used never used cotton and so don't have an opinion.

Re number of slits, what matters is the action the slits create. In general, more slits more finely cut = more vapor/water contact hence more moisturizing. But as I indicated previously, there is a point of diminishing returns, and a piece with ~a dozen in a well-done perc will provide what you need at much less cost.

A large volume piece (like the standard Modiius bubblers or stemless tubes) means inhaling down into your diaphragm (which you probably don't want to be doing) or the piece is too large for you. Most of the HT's are great in this respect because you are pulling almost all the vapor through with the hit, with the remaining clear being small. A smaller piece allows better control over the volume.

Finally, the heat range on each EVO can be slightly different on the dial. I would at least give 1:00 or even 12:00 a try. The latter will probably be too whispy, but you may get sufficient albeit lighter vapor at 1:00. Be sure that the load is small and loose, which will improve the extraction and help compensate for less heat. Make the hits relaxed, just a tad more than taking a normal breath. And not too deep. That will result in you needing more hits to get where you want to, but the process will be easier on your pulmonary tract.

I got a feeling we're venturing into "off-topic" land and a Mod is gonna intervene, so that's gotta be my :2c: + :2c:, all done. Don't overlook the Medical Discussion and Ask FC forums, good info there (but be careful to filter what you read) or maybe even start your own thread.

Again, good luck. :peace:

I bought the case for "only" $110 through the igg deal and the cutouts were all wrong. But what bothered me more was the lack of a place to put a padlock or a zip tie to prevent unwanted opening/snooping.

I bought a case through the VXL website and was pricey, but overall I was happy with it... it does have two spots on the corners to add zip ties or a lock.

I made my own case out of a tool box and foam, but a whole lot of work.

although in the future I will probably buy one of the cheap walmart gun cases.

Today tried a different method of ISO cleaning my EVO's bamboo. :science: Got a couple corks at the hardware store that fit into the joint and the bottom intake port. Corked the bottom, used a small plastic funnel to very slowly fill the bamboo with ISO to just above the ridge of the joint, corked the top, turned the EVO up and down to circulate well, and then let set. Couple hours later over the sink removed bottom cork and then top, ISO all drained out along with particles. Using funnel and small plastic pour cup, holding EVO upright, slowly poured water through bamboo to rinse. Put bottom cork back in and filled with water, capped top with finger, circulated the water up and down, drained, flushed with water again, no residual ISO smell, let air dry. Later ran EVO on lowest dial setting. Work very well, very safe.

I used my adapters last night for the first time. Really a must have IMO. I really never cared for inverting the EVO. Tonite I'll try my 5" mini tube. :whoa:

Hi it's LIMOM here and the biopsy is benign. ITS NOT CANCER

So tell me again what is the piece that will give the smoothest hit. Oldiebutgoodie are you out there.

I need many slits. I too would prefer not to turn the evo upside down. I may try again in 3 weeks. I need to drink a lot of water when I do this; I gotta be really careful. C'mon and help me out. I hope the doctor says I can start working out; I need to run so badly.

I am looking at the DH site. I am so happy. Now I just gotta get my voice back

Congratulations on the wonderful news. What's your budget like? There are many cheap options, however if you don't want to turn the EVO upside down its more expensive

Personally I think , it will be the ' Act of inhalation ' that will
affect your healing process . When I draw off of my bubbler ,
whether small or big , I use my cheek and throat muscles to get a good haul .

Extra percs/diffusion will provide smoother vapors , but ' May ' create more
drag/chug . Making it slightly harder to draw and diluting your THC with every
chamber it travels thru .

When I had my tooth extracted ( I know that's way different from you )
I'd inhaled thru my nostrils , ( cigs too )
It will sting a little , but you do what you can sometimes ...
Maybe get a bag full of vapors , then ...
" Up your Nose with a Rubber Hose "

Good Luck
One of the best pieces I have to vape through came from Apollo Glass Works.. they used to have an iOffer store and their stuff was pretty reasonable. I think I paid $150.00 for what I got. Its a nice piece, nothing fancy but well made and extremely functional.

Poonman; .I have been looking for you ioffer made me a good deal on a bubbler with the adapter included. It's not that I oppose turning it upside I'm just afraid the whole thing will topple over. You have been so patient with me; I'm such an idiot with this so many like DH but the evo is such a beast I want to pair it with the something good and I don't think the side circ was the right piece
SM55 where are you?

cannabis-connoisseur. Weigh in here as well I can go as high as 150 and I have looked at aquamarine. Does anyone like scientific American glass or this ioffer. I have been doing my homework but I still don't know what to do. I value your opinion.

The support of this group has been amazing. I don't know Facebook and I don't do Facebook; fuck Facebook I'm staying here. Boy you'd

think I'm just ready to fire up rite now I'm still weeks away. So keep those suggestions coming. Should I start a new thread - let's all vote on LI MOM's next piece of glass?

We could have polls; see if anyone is trying to suppress the vote; get Nate Silver to predict the outcome. This is more like me - this throat issue had me in a bad place.

Make your voices heard since I still can't lol

@LongIslandmom, sorry if I missed it, but do you have any mobility issues that make it hard for you to manoeuvre your EVO, or are you just trying to be careful with it?

You shouldn't have issues with toppling generally because you shouldn't be leaving the evo connected to the bong when not using it.

Basically, use 1 hand (your non-primary hand generally) to hold/steady the bong, and use you other hand to manipulate the EVO.

So while steadying your bong, you would pick up the EVO, invert it, and insert it into the bong.
While still holding the bong and EVO, you start your draw.
Once you are finished your draw, you remove the EVO from the bong, flip it back upright and then put it down.

As you were always holding the bong and EVO there is very little chance of tipping.

I'm just worried because sometimes the evo seems so heavy that it will topple over

I am getting such great responses poonman. What do make of these tag bongs. Olivianewtonjohn loves them. They seem really big but maybe that's what I need. I think there was a suggestion of a DH model as well. Please head over if you can. Maybe I could start with the DH model? I'm so dazed and confused but in a good way

@LongIslandmom , Id try one of these guys. Its not the exact piece I have but you can invert without the piece tipping. The base is pretty good size.

This IS The piece I have and it looks like the price has dropped even more. This piece purrs, has zero chug and does a pretty good job at cooling and diffuson.

there is someone selling a 14mm piece in the classifieds that looks fine. Dale summers. I don't know who that is but that glass looks good for the price.

Could anybody share any experiences with the "Swagger Barrel" the cheapest entry level hydratube?

I'm looking for maximum flow, minimum water diffusion, this sounds like it fits the bill.

Has anybody hit it?

I've hit one, and recall being impressed w/ it .. It was at the Cannabis Cup though, and I was baked out of my gourd at the time, so I'm no good for details beyond the memory of being impressed w/ it :D.. That's not really worth much though... I know

I think it fits the bill for what you want though

It looks like it has more flow and less diffusion than the Swagger Showercap! Regardless, both are unfortunately out of stock.

I have ordered the DHgate version of the "Atomic" and it is shipping now, will report more about it over in the cheap glass thread when it arrives. I am curious to see if it measures up to the one you got... http://www.dhgate.com/product/best-...c/205579720.html#myaccount_orderdetail-1-null

Go to the doughboy thread. There are many better water tools there. I am just learning that it doesn't have to be from xhale to meet your needs. His stuff is beautiful. Poopmachine will help you. He knows his stuff

LI Mom,
if you get a bubbler, there will be many more options for sizes, amount of diffusion, cost-with many cheap or inexpensive options.
My miniVAP easily manages inverted use but it appears to be narrower than the VapeXHale.
Just make sure you get a bubbler with the intake directly in the center like in the picture below/ on the right:
then you just have to invert, put it in place, and merely balance it---you don't have to firmly support it.
You might just try inverting without a water piece, using your dominant hand---does that seem like you could easily do this?

  1. IMG_20141010_094011.jpg
The style you would NOT want for inverted use is below: Your VapeXHale would be pointed sideways and need constant support so it's not as easy to use inverted--
this style would be ok for you if you keep VXHale upright and use connector tube/adapter.

Note: I have the style pictured above with the center mount/intake. I started out using an adapter tube/connector and quickly realized (for me) the inverted direct method just seemed quicker, easier, less muss and fuss, and it had a slightly better taste with the shorted vapor path,
The VXHale looks a little more bulky to invert but it might be easier than you think....

You should be able to get a nice piece with a lot of diffusion for smooth vaping

My broken hydratube is on its way home, allegedly repaired. It's sad to send these sick suckers away, but it's always good to welcome them back into the fold.... this one is from the 1st MassDrop.

You don't need a hydratube to use EVO upright: just the right adapters to hook onto a hose
