I'll never bought one

Yesterday i watched videos about the whistle ... wow .... i hope mine will be more silent i have neighbors and i vape only on night before sleeping i don't want to wake up all my block :\

It make me laugh when i saw this because i thinked i had found the perfect vapo after so many time searching and then ... there is another "problem"

I will test it before crying but if you have tricks to avoid the whistle in case i'm interested.
The WHISTLE is normal when new!
I find the whistle goes away with use!
This has been my experience with my EVO ‘s?

After how much time the whistle dissapears or decreases from your experience ?

I've had mine for around 3 years and it still whistles like a teapot on steroids when I inhale at my preferred pace. The good news is that you can draw faster or slower to get it to stop or lessen.

As @ataxian mentioned there are some EVOs that stopped whistling over time and there have been posts where people put some kind of gauze over the bottom opening to change the air intake enough to eliminate the whistle.

Sad to read that @His_Highness ... i always ask myself why the vapo conceptors always put a little sh*tty thing that come mess there work

-the V-Tower would much better with a bamboo like piece of glass although the ceramic stay uncovered for example)
- the Aromed use ptfe / teflon which is toxic
- the Volcano use only balloons
...

I only have tio hope mine will be clear of that (but i'm not usually a lucky man, so i stay ready for the flute concerto  )

There have been reports of EVOs that don't whistle and others where the whistle isn't very loud.

Some have reported that their preferred draw speed is just under the point where it whistles so when they hear that whistle they slow down a bit. It becomes a reminder and teaching tool of sorts.

One thing you won't have to worry about is whether you purchased a great vape because, whistle or not, it's one of the best desktop vapes there is.

Yeah it’s not even an issue. I haven’t seen the videos but mine isn’t loud at all. I like it and try to make it whistle because mine whistles at what for me is optimal draw speed. You’re not likely to hear mine if you’re in the next room and my tv or music is on. And the whistle comes at a distinct draw speed so as was said, you can simply draw a little faster or slower and avoid it altogether.

Most reviews I seen on tha evo never talked about tha whistle ... But I cut tha end of a Q-tip its sits in tha bottom hole and doesn't add any draw resistance...

Whistling: originally mine whistled like the best of them. I then discovered that the EVO heat shield has velcro straps which go across the bottom, covering the bamboo (doesn't seem to affect airflow). I haven't heard the whistling as much lately so I wondered about this.

As an experiment I just removed that velcro strap and sure enough the whistling was back. That swath of velcro seems to be otherwise enough to make the whistling stop!

Hey Evo owners it's been a while since I posted (currently catching up on 8 months of missed thread) but I was wondering if anyone knows if VapeXhale is phasing out the clear hydrtubes for the grey graphite? Also what happened to the hydrabases? Are they ever going to be back in stock and does anyone here have any experience with the hydrabases? It seems to me like you would really have to put some extra lung power into your draws with a hose adapter and passing through the bottom base and the hydratube on top?

Just wondering if anyone knows and/or has any experience with the hydrabases. Are they worth it?

Thanks

I use the HydraBase Octa Edition and a standard HydraBomb which I believe to be well worth the investment. Much smoother and the bubbles help pull the vapor into the Hydrabase.

Clouds dont whistle. Seems they could make a Evo not whistle... it's a major reason the Evo gathers dust but the earlier unit gets used in my household

Thanks for getting back!

Just heard directly from the souce, that they have no "current" plans on bringing the Hydrabases back into stock.:( Also, the new Graphite Hydratubes are the new norm and the clear glass will be phased out. Kinda really disappointed by all this. Not sure if I want to pick up another hydrabomb (I was told this is the last of their clear glass stock!) or move it on over to the Flowerpot tbh..

I'll check out planet vape.. I thought I saw some there a while back!

I would check on Ebay, Sometimes someone gives one up. Just make sure it's the real deal and they have good feedback.

Well, it finally happened.

That's off and unplugged. I was making some cannabutter at the same time so I didn't investigate the smell right away, thought I'd spilled some on the element. I'm pretty upset, this was my favorite unit and I've always taken great care of it. Pretty expensive device to just melt itself down like this.

Does anyone know if the company has addressed this issue? I looked through the thread without much luck. I don't think I feel comfortable getting a replacement until I know whether the newer units pose the same risk.

I have one of this runaway EVO from Indiegogo (220V) and I think it was due to wrong frequency, instead of 60Hz it should be 50Hz for 220V. Anyway, VXL sent over a second corrected one and it has been working flawlessly ever since and I have not seen one instance of the runaway heating yet. I still have the runaway EVO which I cannot turn up the heat with power on, I have to switch off the unit, turn up the dial position then switch on again otherwise runaway heating may happen. Anyway, this is my experience and hope it helps. Good luck mate!

Crazy pic @CentiZen. It sounds like an older unit (is it)? My review of the EVO history here found some older units had reported runaway heating failures. I haven't seen those issues in the newer units for the last few years, but it's still worth acknowledging that the issues are age related and the newer units are still in early days. The EvO has been great here, I hope it lasts for a number of years.

It's been a great weekend with the EVO here. I was busy with yard work Friday but still got into the EVO with Acapulco Gold flower later in the day... enthusiastically :science:. Today I enjoyed the concentrates again with Armageddon shatter and Super Lemon Haze live resin in the EVO (micro dabs). A late half ELB of fresh quality Blue Dream flower is rounding out the evening :leaf:.

@CentiZen I too had a faulty international device that cracked...ever since then I have 2 units, one is for backup and hardly used, but my main EVO can work the whole day...I sometimes leave it on for at least half a day (I turn on and off every now and then to it won't auto shut) and I got zero issues (other than being an idiot and breaking the bamboo once or twice, but at least I got it fixed).
I don't think you need to be worried.
