I thought I was going bonkers but I tested it and my new Evo flickers red light to green light when my iPhone 6 passes by it.
Must be interference or something, my old unit didn’t do that. Not that it makes any difference to anything, but interesting all the same (if you like that kinda thing, & I know some of you guys do!)

Evo is on the way, could be here as early as the 6th.
I ordered some cannabis derived terpenes from blue river extracts and some very high grade shatter Gorilla Cookies, Pink Lemonade, and Ghost Train, as well as some THC-a isolate all to enjoy in the evo.
To top it off, I also will be getting an oz of Astroboy. a very interesting sativa, I'll let everyone know how it and the rest is! Sativa heads, check out Astroboy on leafly!

I use the adapter all the time. I have not thoroughly cleaned the hose in months. It tastes fine to me which is why I don't give it a thorough clean.

I like JACK HERER and I find it mixes well to make HYBRIDS.
DUTCH TREAT + JACK HERER = DUTCH CRUNCH

Im trying and experimenting new things with ny evo and im really interested in trying concentrates with my evo.
I never used any cobcentrates before so can someone tell me what i need to use with my evo in regards to like shatter, wax, or budder? Im not too sure which ones are most compatible with the evo.

Shatter, wax, budder are all fine in the EVO. Shatter I find is a little easier to use as it's easier to load. Wax and budder have to be kind of scraped in where shatter can just be dropped in.
I wouldn't use any ice wax or bubble hash in the nails even if they say full melt. They tend to have plant contaminate in them just by the nature of the way they are made.

This cut, smell wise , Jack Herrer with a touch more skunkyness, highwise, a bit less hazey, more sativa/clear/ alert 'ish..
Vaped some Haze out of my Evo with standard stem, took down to 10 on dial for more flavor and more puffs...

Its definitely not the auto shut off, I think that results in blinking: red & green/off?
This is blinking: green/off
and other times blinking: red & green/green (I think, I turned off immediately as looked orange)
It is the kettle (EVO) end that is the problem
Nothing is broken (I've only used 10 times approx)
I know the E pin is longer by design like @MonkeyTime mentioned but maybe the pins are slightly too thin?
I don't even have another cable to try however I would worry about causing damage through arcing etc?
Ive contacted the seller and will no doubt hear back tomorrow.

Going to pull the trigger on ordering shatter and I'm just curious as to how much I should get.
How much concentrate is typically used for the Evo? I know it varies since everyone is different, just wanted to get a general idea as to how much shatter I would need since I don't want it to go bad (if I don't finish in time), but at the same if I order more grams of shatter, it would be cheaper.

Shatter shouldn't go bad. You can use tiny pieces of it in the evo, maybe the size of two or three sesame seeds.

You'll probably get around 50 dabs or so per gram. At that size or a little smaller it should be a nice big rip but not so much that it takes more than one long pull to clear it which is best for flavor and to keep from ever overflowing the glass/quartz tubes. Like the previous poster said, it'll be the size of a couple grains of rice or a few sesame seeds. It's quite efficient so when doing it the first time err on the small side.
As for keeping shatter for a while, sealing it up and putting it in the fridge works for me.

Rice is too big even. 1 dry grain of rice is a fairly large dab for the evo! But has been done before, so don't worry too much.

Upon reading all of 16,813 posts from this superlative community (I could have finished "War and Peace" in less time) I ordered the Cloud Evo this morning; falling prey to VAS, and availing myself of the Labor Day sale. Again...thank-you for your collective efforts towards educating me; and I'm sure countless others; it is much appreciated.
So I've been following this thread for a while now and just read about the fire so had to chime in....
I received my first EVO from Vape Fiend (they're great and have been very helpful) last week. I used it for 2/3 days and noticed that after 15 or so minutes the unit would start flashing green - only green, not the red/green shut off flashing.
On the third day I was cleaning a vapexnail and noticed an orange LED. I now know this was the glass glowing orange! The nail then exploded while still in the bamboo and ended up fusing to the sides of the glass. I switched the EVO off, and had smoke coming out of the vents.
I returned the unit to Vape Fiend and they were great. Confirmed it was caused by the runaway heat issue and sent me a replacement.
I've had this for around a week, and it's started to flash green after 15 mins or so. It doesn't do this every time, and seems to only happen when I'm cleaning nails. I turn it off as soon as it flashes and when I look down the tube, the bamboo is glowing orange.
Obviously reading this thread, the fire and my previous experience is making me a little nervous, even though I know it's a very rare problem.
Is the bamboo meant to glow orange at all? I just need somebody to put my mind at rest lol especially after the fire.

Have they swapped out a component on the latest batches for a cheaper version, that is subsequently failing, causing these meltdowns...???

I didn't have a fire with the first one mate, i guess something will have melted - that's why I had smoke - but no flames.
The second one is just blinking green and glowing orange when you look down the bamboo.
Yeah, UK units, both brand new, received my first one on the 23rd august

No, the bamboo should never be so hot as to glow orange or red.
Yeah he's in the UK too, but not sure how old his unit was mate.
I've been told by both Vapexhale and Vape Fiend that it's a very rare issue.
Even just faintly when you look down the bamboo in the dark - not the tip of it?

I'd recommend starting with a half gram or gram. If you haven't dabbed before, definitely stick with the grain of rice sizing...or less. A lil bit of concentrate goes a looooooong way, especially with the EVO. It's great for microdabbing!
I say faintly, it's noticeable, but you've got to remember I've seen the entire thing glowing bright orange tip / joint and all lol. Everything will look faint after that haha
