Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

That almost sounds like a problem with the quality of the starting material. If you're vaping concentrates without issue, the EVO is getting hot enough.

This was my first thought as well.

@Spacemaster , you aren't going to get herb hits that approach what you see or feel from doing concentrates or smoking. But once you get your expectations and techniques in check you should be good to go. Are you grinding your herbs? Run us through what you are doing...

Hmm I see what you're saying, I went of off the vape critics video not sure if you know who is but he reviews a lot of vapes. And he was milking the crap out of his glass for herb and concentrates.

But anyways at first I was just using scissors and I thought this was the issue. So I went and bought a nice 5 piece diamond grinder. Grinded up some querkle sprinkled it in the elb, I filled it up loosely 1/4 of the full. Gently slide it in the glass holder. Dial set 12-2 o'clock, set my side circ on the base, wait 10 seconds then I start inhaling. I've tried it slow and steady and also hard and fast. It tends to make a whistling noise sometimes when Im inhaling

Very interesting @Spacemaster , my lady friend (who's evo i use wayyyy too much) considers herself a vapexhale expert and says that the heater kicks up/down and adjusts in proportion to inhalation velocity. She always tells me to rip it as hard as I can (to challenge the heater) and see if that perpetuawhateverthingy can keep up to produce challenging milk'age. I usually rock the dial around 3 o'clock, suck til it screams (her evo whistles too and she said it's because of the restrictions in the bamboo that facilitate efficient heating; to me the whistling is the indicator that I'm hitting my mark for optimal vape grindage with flowers or that I'm ripping it too hard with dabs) and it has never failed to produce face melting clouds that knock me straight on me arse :)

After a long wait I finally got the Evo with Turbine at Vapefiend; with the Black Friday deal.
Unfortunately after several sessions my unit was malfunctioning and I discovered microscopic cracks in several places of the Turbine..
The red and green LED lights either blinked on and off or came on together until I turn the unit completely off..
I contacted Adam and he offered to pay for me to send it back via special delivery to inspect both the Evo and Turbine. Topnotch customer service!
My Evo was for my birthday, (2nd Dec) but I am without her tonight..
I was blown away by it's strong potent delicious unforgettable hits..
Damn I miss her already..

Thank you for the inspiration, I have been dabbling with the lower temps the last few weeks, but I miss the passing out on the couch face melting high temp rips, I think I will do this tonight :)

Interesting about the inhalation velocity I'm seeing that now. Ok so I got some time to mess around with it and I cranked it up to 3 o'clock, loaded elb 50% of the way, and inhaled super hard and created some nice clouds! So I think it is all about a personal technique! Thanks for the help guys, think I need to play around with it a little more to find that perfect hit!

I think if you leave it on a while you can lower the dial quite a bit. My sweet spot is still 12 00 for everything though. That's my EVO, everybody's is a bit different it seems. It works the same way is what counts. I get great clouds with just dry herb, but yes a sprinkle of hash crumbs to my load or a small sprinkle of kief and it REALLY clouds on a whole new level. Oil of course is major clouds too but knowing when to stop before it sours is something you have to learn. I never go to three on mine because my ABV is very spent and dark at just before 3 so I stop about 2 45.

Hey fc, just got my evo couple days ago and having some problems. I got the givethanks bundle, comes with 4 elbs,5 nails, dry mouthpiece, and circ ht. 2 of the elbs are snug and work good but, i have to force the other 2 and are hard to get out of evo. My dry mouthpiece works but my ht female joint is too big, spins freely on evo, and doesn't create a seal so i can't use it. Any suggestions?

I have 1 ELB that is snug, no biggie. Unless it's a bamboo thing. I have ELB's from different sources and they fit nicely. Only 1 is tight.

You put your tube on top and cover the bottom intake hole of the Bamboo and air gets through? My tube spins freely but creates a seal.

I have two hydratubes that do this by design. These particular ones are prototype designs to eliminate joint lock, which could pressurize the tube and cause the backpressure to release all the water out of the bottom and possibly onto your EVO. I urge everyone who has gotten tubes that seem loose to try the tube sitting on top of the EVO and apply slight pressure to ensure the lip on the EVO fits into that recessed area in the Hydratube. What I'm trying to say is although neither of the hydratubes 18mm female fittings are snug with the EVO 18mm male fitting, the still perform just as well as my perfect fitting hydratubes. I just make sure that lip on the EVO has created a seal with the gas bottom of the Hydratube. I get monster clouds with no effort. YMMV just my :2c:

EDIT: @Slow Draw McGraw I'm glad someone else has experienced this As well

Yes i hit the ht and when i cover the bottom intake hole it doesn't change pull. I hit the dry mouthpiece and when i cover bottom hole i can't hit it.

I even tried applying pressure and it doesn't seal

My Elbs never were a problem, I think snug is good as long as they don't stick. Mine all flow fine and have not stick at all after pulling them in and out a few times. I also put each through a session and this also got them easier to get in and out. My session is usually 20 min or so, I leave them in the whole time as I am constantly pulling.

Hey again FC. I've been testing the EVO for a couple of days. Mine seems to be working fine.

I think for people to make a better decision to buy a product or not must be important to know who is writing a review. I'm in late 40's wealthy and have no interests in cannabis related industry. I'm also a freshie as per cannabis consumption. Started using it just over a year ago in California just for my own amusement. I smoke or vape (mainly) usually on weekends. Being quite an emotional person I find that being high I can have somehow different perspective for recent events. Cannabis has calming effect on my emotions and I'd say helps me to make more rational decisions. My vaporiser experience is also limited. I have a MFLB which I got as a gift and Arizer Air which I bought myself after doing some research and reading tons of reviews here on FC. Of those two I prefer MFLB because Air is to hot and harsh for my throat but those small tokes and constant stirring takes very long time to reach the climax.

Ok, back to the EVO. As said already mine works fine. No major issues. Is there any WOW factor? In my opinion - NO. You suck the tube, the vapor fills your lungs with cannabinoids and you get high. If compared to Air or MFLB then yes EVO produces more vapout for the same time of suction. Have I found EVO to be some exceptional hitter? NO. Maybe if I was using some water tool then it would have more like a bong effect. But then again to give much credit for this to EVO would be absolutely incorrect. One flaw I already noticed, apart from cheap and ugly looks, is the temperature indicator. If I turn EVO on and set to the max it heats up and red turns to green , then if I turn the nob to 12 it turns back to red and it takes abut a minute to go back to green. Either it measures temperature incorrectly or means that the temperature has to drop according to the setting which is kinda primitive for such an expensive device. Talking more on this WOW factor when many guys use words such as "I was blown away" I think they either write when high have financial interests to promote the product or just are extremely easy to impress. When you buy a lighter you don't say wow I was blown away with the flame it produces. It either works every single click or doesn't . If it makes sense. On the other hand even if you have £300 lighter you hardly can expect any exceptional flames. Then all that matters is the material it's made from, looks and the status you achieve by owning such an expensive thing.

Now to the most important question, is EVO worth the money? IMO absolutely, totally, ridiculously not. The way it looks and the primitive functionality of this device (not this particular but for a vaporiser in general) suggest that it should be priced at £50 no more. To be worth £300 it should be gold plated or something. To illustrate my thought here is a link http://www.amazon.co.uk/George-Fore...9066406&sr=8-1&keywords=george+foreman+grills . You could pick this grill on Black Friday for £20 quid square. More or less same components: plastic base, heat on/off indicator, heating element. Very similar products priced differently. And the fact that EVO gets extremely hot when in operation makes me wander how it passed health and safety regulations and is even considered safe to use. It's way way too hot for a hand held device IMO. Baring in mind that the whole purpose of this device is to help people to get intoxicated I'd call it extremely dangerous. I think those recommendations not do drive and not to operate machinery when under influence exist for a reason.

Therefore if I had to save money to buy EVO in the first place I'd definitely send it back immediately. In my case I will probably keep it because it works well and gets the desired result much quicker than my current portables or even rolling.

Do you have any "Grinder Grease"? It comes in a small tube like chapstick??
It is made from hemp oil.
Provides lube to grinders and helps prevent glass joints from sticking together AND gives a little extra texture in the joint to help it seal better.

Absent that, a tiny application of vaseline probably would do the same.

Quick question do you let your bud sit for a minute after you load it or is it ready to go right away? I'm still not clear on this part.

Elaborating. According to the user manual or video instructions by Vapexhale "red" means warming up "green" ready to use. I usually turn the device on, set on max and while it warms up grind my weed and fill up the ELB's. When the indicator is solid green I turn in down to 12'sh and it turns back to red as it was heating up again. After a minute or so it's back to green. My first thought was that the device is not reading temperatures correctly but then again the "red" after reducing the temp settings may also mean "wait the device is too hot". Don't know which is correct. But even if "red" means "wait it's too hot" I'd say that such temperature control indicator is far too primitive for such an expensive device. I've seen much cheaper portable vaporisers with display actual temperatures in digits either when heating up, cooling down or being used. This is one of the reasons I say that EVO is overpriced.

The WOW factor is right there at the end of your rant. It gets the results you want much quicker than pretty much anything else in the vape world.

IMO the EVO is meant to be used through a bong/hydratube. Put the sleeve on and the heat issue goes away. I have no problem with heat when using the sleeve even when it is turned up all the way.

Do I think the EVO is worth the money? Yeah I do considering I got a vape that can do both herb and concentrates exceptionally well and a hydratube.

I think they just have a lot more vaporizing experience than you. This is a site filled with connoisseurs that appreciate what many others don't even notice. Whenever I talk to someone in person about vapes I realize what a freak I am. They are either fascinated or bored, but either way I get to see how obsessed we are on this site. You're still in the 'get to know you' stage with this vape.

Either it measures temperature incorrectly or means that the temperature has to drop according to the setting which is kinda primitive for such an expensive device.

It has a massive glass heat sink that is slow to cool down. This design was meant to be able to keep up with people who want to huff on it hard and not lose power. If you huff with any aggression at all the mflb will get overwhelmed and you get nothing. The Air restricts the flow so that it isn't even an option. The EVO is built to mimic the 'bong-hit' experience, which it does better than any other vape I have. And it is a very different experience through water. Even the Herbalizer, which reaches temp in 17 seconds takes much longer to cool down unless you blow directly on the heater to speed up the process (something you can't do with the EVO since there is no access to the heater).

It's way way too hot for a hand held device IMO.

I agree. This is probably my biggest complaint about the EVO.

You could pick this grill on Black Friday for £20 quid square.

You continue to compare this vape to a mass produced product, with Black Friday pricing, no less! There isn't a vape in the world being made in these quantities and it's unfair to compare any of them to this type of production. Both the mflb and Air are built in greater quantities than the EVO, but still not in the GF Grill range of quantities. My guess is if the EVO were being built in quantities of 100,000 or more the retail price might approach $200 for a base unit, but I am completely making this up. Of course, if they were manufactured in those quantities, they would have most of them pre-sold to worldwide distributors and would be available everywhere also. Instead, we have a small startup making them by hand in-house. While I will be first in line to be disappointed with quality control issues at any level of production, the pricing is something I understand. Vapes will always be a waste of money, no matter how cheap they get, for those that are satisfied with lighting a match. Let's face it...the process of getting high has been free for thousands of years!

I've seen much cheaper portable vaporisers with display actual temperatures in digits either when heating up, cooling down or being used.

Do you have any idea how accurate or inaccurate those temps are?
