My unit's center detent position is set at about 10-11 o'clock. Sorry you've been having some issues with your unit too. My last EVO did the flashing on and off thing so I had to send it in and have it reset.

I don't mind sending in a vaporizer for repair after a few months if something goes wrong but I do think a $400+ vaporizer should arrive in good working condition. If my unit had been cycled on and off just once before shipping, the defect would have been obvious.

Interesting we are now seeing Evo's with 10:30 notches now? Yeah the flashing lights on my unit have been going nuts. I change the dial temp and the light still stays green. I sent the unit in UPS yesterday. I absolutely agree a $400 vaporizer should work out of the box. Here's to hoping for a speedy return process.

I'm not too bothered by the wonky dial. The main thing is that we all get the same temp range. And my cord is ok.

Can I make a suggestion for this thread.... when talking about the dial being at 3 o'clock etc. Seeing as dials start and finish in different places, and we should all be getting the same 10 hour temp range, would it be better to say 'I had the dial on setting 8 of 10' for example. If that makes sense.

I'd also like to assume that we get the same temperature range. But it bothers my OCD that it doesn't rest at Noon like it should. My unit is an 11 o clock with a min/max of 6 and 4. I'm sure that just means that my 4 o clock setting is the same as a Noon notch unit's highest 5 o clock setting. According to an email from Jeff a normal unit's dial is 7 and 5. Anyhow, I sent the unit in for the light problem but I actually want the normal noon notch and I should get it adjusted by the time it is returned to me.

Tried the nail. I've never used oil in anything but a Haze (which makes oil a session) or a Underdog which is not a one hitter, but not quite a session for oil either. I guess I'm impressed by how neatly the little dab went in there and it worked exactly like the instructions said it would. I got two big hits and stopped because the end of the second started tasting off. I cranked her up did and burn off and to my complete surprise my nail was clean as a whistle. I really liked having all the oil hit me at once, and how clean the use of it was, but I do like having oil sessions in the Haze too.

I've got to say the purity of flavor with both herb and oil is fantastic.

What do you all recommend I do Hash in? A nail or a elb?

Depends on the user and frequency. For me, I'm a 2 session an evening kind of guy. Sometimes on the weekend, I'll dab a little during the day but for the most part I'm a night time user for insomnia. Sessions are pretty quick with this thing for me.. No more than 10 mins or so with dry herb and maybe a half hour using just one VXN nail (I need to buy that 5 pack lol). I have to factor in the time it takes to clean the nail and for it to cool down to load it again.

So for me, I'd say 10 to 15 minutes with dry herb, 30 mins for about 4 dabs using one VXN Nail, or up to an hour if I really want to get ripped out of my head using a combo of herb and concentrates.

Sure sometimes I'll step out of the room and forget a left the vape on while cleaning the nail for over 10 minutes, but never anything longer than that. Also I can do quick 5 minute sessions by just heating up the unit (no heatsoaking) and setting it at Noon or 1 and go to town. The one thing I love about this vape is that it actually utilizes a thermostat, and we can remove the ELB so easily from the heating element if need be.

Out of all the vapes I owned this has given me the the most control. With my Plenty I have to unscrew the herb chamber to remove it from the heating element. Not only that but once it hits the desired temp it immediately shuts off and cools down and I can't turn the heating element on again for 90 seconds.

The EVO offers much more user control!

Really like my sidecirc, but they sent a Grav Lab and as I mentioned I have had good luck with them. Taste is terrific and not overly diluted at all. It really is like a little showerhead on top where the water goes. Just a neat piece.

It looks like the only discounted option now is not even the hydrabomb but HydraBase bomb. I think I'll just buy a base unit with a mouth piece and get some cheap glass from China for now. Next time I'm in the US for some longer time I'll try to fish for some decent glass at the discounted price. BTW what do you guys think of this base bomb? Is it worth £80 to have as an addition ?

Yeah I laid that same price, and got an Evolver HydraTree. This was ofcourse the give thanks bundle began, which is better in that you got all those extra nails and ELBs plus a dry mouthpiece right?

I think you had the same choice to get the Evolver HydraCirc, but with the same normal accesory amount like I did. They do give you a quartz nail and hydrafoot though, but the Evolvers need those (glass nail doesn't fit and tube doesn't have the big base).

But yeah this new deal is even better, bc the same kit comes to $375 so it $10 cheaper, shipping is still kinda killer imo, otherwise its only be $350 which is phenomenal. But its got me tempted just bc I still want to try that HydraCirc too, though II do like my tree. But I do not need two Evos lol

But I think these Evolver tubes are really nice, I just like the style. And should go great on a Devasator or UFO some day...

So since 7th floor is having a sale too, I'm contemplating getting a 3 foot whip, two for one so like 6 feet, only $6.50. Unfortunately the adapters aren't on sale, so it'd be $12 right angle 18mm female for Evo, then another $12 for a straight 18mm male for bubblers (which could also work with Zion at least), not bad but not so cheap for adapters?

So then they have those right angle ashcatch vapor tamers by Elev8, which are 40% off and come to $66, not bad but not the $55 I can get a Saturn tamer for at VaporNation... I do feel like the Elev8 is more versatile though, easier to manage shape, and the whip would help keep the cold away from hot joints in Evo and Zion... But is it worth the price?
Especially since I'm going to need get some kind of circ perc soon too

However, my pay check comes through early and I have been deducted some wages I forgot about...oops. Making this bargain back into a luxury purchase

I have a hydrabomb and hydra base as well as a small grace glass honeycomb peice. I was getting the showercap for low temp flavour on both dabs and flowers as it has less diffusion than my hydrabomb.

Basically, I want you all to convince me as to why I still need to buy this. Any input from someone who has hit/owns it would be great. I've wanted it since before I got my EVO but never been able to find one...so there is that...

Help me make a good bad decision
