Yeah 300 could be reasonable depending on the accessories included, if you were talking about the plug-in AC adapter thing so you can run it without batteries, I know that thing in particular was very expensive and could push the price closer to 500 total even??!
the tubo evic was around 125EUR back in these days (with zero stems) and the store often contained 1-2 tubo evic for sale.. the huge demand came around the tubo dual i think..i remember the video with the guitars and the hype.. or even before.. i think people (like me) didn't know how good this vape is, back in the end of 2018..

I do remember the good old days when there was actually stock in the store just sitting there, I do think eventually the original evic demand did grow enough that that was not always the case, with the dual too yeah, people were totally sleeping on it until the P80 came out, he was even putting tetra heaters in the dual before then, that's how I got one originally, when you were able to just put in a custom order whenever as well... Yeah my original I think was under 200, the dual was more with the exotic wood and everything, my original Tetra P80 was only a little over 200 like 240 or less? Exchange rate and shipping... Anyway the new one I just got, acrylic, was more like 360 and it went to 450 with all the stems and such, maybe more lol it is all relative, but these are worth more than they sold for, since they are not made anymore either, so you just have to do what you think feels right where you think the value is, if you are posting here it is nice to hook up an FC member at a good rate, but yeah the accessories can also really affect the bundle value further too! What a world:o

Alright thank you guys.
Yeah it's the ac plug in adapter that I meant, there aren't many of those around I guess.
I'll try my best but demand here in Europe doesn't seem to be high and I'm not sure about shopping overseas as there might be some residue which I can't reach to clean...

Ah yeah trickier, I don't think you need to worry about potential residue though you should really try to clean it as best you possibly can, regardless, but as long as the buyer is willing to pay shipping costs or whatever and assume risks, you should send it wherever if you want to sell it to the best home for as much as possible lol Yeah I would look up exactly how much you spent, I think the AC adapter was expensive I know it's expensive to ship being so heavy...?

it means that even if the mod will be gone in X time from now, the TUBO heater can work without any problems?
then it will be like 200$ or so, even a bit more IMHO, the desktop thing wasn't cheap too I know.. it all depends because remember, on one side it's rare AF and on the other side it's not a new heat-exchanger you know... but anyway in this case the desktop adapter raises the price ofc
I don't thing it works like that. The adapter is like a battery adapter being plugged into the socket. So if the mod will malfunction someday I think it doesn't mather whether it's being powered by batteries or the adapter. Just my guess.
It looks like this + a cable from the box to the socket which isn't shown on the picture. This thing basically just makes it a desktop unit lol. s-l1600.jpg

that's a MeanWell LRS-200-4.2 wrapped up looking beautiful https://au.mouser.com/ProductDetail/709-LRS200-4.2

I've been meaning to buy one to rig up something similar, that piece alone is worth a few dollars, a lot more with the case and 18650 adapter - and with the sweet convection of the Tubo on top, that's an awesome package!

My TUBOx has been out of action for years now, I should see if I can get it working.. it was a really nice vape for its time and in general, wide open flavourful solid hits. I got it off the classifieds for a decent price with a 4-bay mod but it kicked the bucket after several months of baskets.

Your particular set is quintessential lamart and should be a quick scoop with a shot like that

I'm not sure of the best place to ask this, there doesn't seem to be a Tubox specific sub. I don't see much about this unit, I now that the heater was upgraded and it became the tetrax. My question, is the Tubox still relevant? Is it a decent vape, does it give uniform extraction? I have the opportunity to buy 1 paired with a Wismec dual mod and several stems for probably around $150, would this be a decent deal? TIA

I am using one and it works like day one, actually it was me who gave the idea to have the heater separated from the mod via cable :). So it is one the of the first units ever created. I use it with 4 battery wismec,it kicks like a mule. I'd say you wont regret your purchase at that price for sure.

a tubox with a very potent bud, it's almost like the most powerful desktop on the market (after preheat)

It needs a preheat then? Does that make it more of a session style vape? How long to preheat usually?
warmup to cruise (w2c) takes 10-30 seconds, if you want to have such a cloud like I had, give another 10-15 seconds for a proper preheat,
you can do a session or 1 cloud to finish the bowl, depends on your temperature + how fast/slow you take the draw

With a more powerful mod you dont really need preaheat. Evic is only 60w. Preheating is good cause it also drains less battery that way. With the 300w mod ,i can see wattage going up to 220w for a fraction of a second, but it delivers a hit just like this one. When it is preheated even with my most heroic draws and cannot get over 80 and that is only for a few seconds, then it drops do 50. So with a preaheat 60w mod is more than enough :)).
It is kind of funny way to measure tha wattage of your lungs,lol....

how fast do you take the hit? 200km/h?
Evic dual is my mod for tubox, not limited to 60w, I can go even 75w (tried it, it rips)

IMO best qualiy vapor is the one from high speed draws, because there is less time for things to degrade :D... Definetly slowhits feel way harsher on my lungs, although high speed ones wreck my throat if i over do. So the balance is the key.
I also think that there is added conduction effect with slow draws, cause the bowl gets way hotter ,compared to high speed ones :).

The TUBOx has really open airflow, and when set up right it can keep up well. I think it's got the most open airflow of any vape I've tried, it's almost too much, but it handles slower draws very well too. At full blast you can inhale too quickly, the lungs fill up before the roast has processed. No worries if going for multiple hits, my go to is to moderate the intake to roast the whole chamber.

Never tried a tetra, 3 pipes gave me great results as it was.

I need to fish my TUBOx out to see if I can get it going, I was having some problems with it, although I think mainly/entirely with the mod set up.

it's a very enjoyable vape, although I never really figured out the firmware to properly enjoy it

with the Evic Dual mod I can't even do 85w hit, "Device too hot"
but it works so great fast draw at 70w power mode / temp 235C with 70w limit TCR 185

fast draw means great taste, I'll second that ofc!

I would suspect the 510 connection ,if it is not the mod. I wrecked mine and replaced with the base of devine tribe herb atomizer+the cover.
@GoldenBud I went through i few mods till i found ones that do not have the device too hot issue. 1) WismecRX300 2 ) Cuboid 200. 3)I have no love for the evics.

Sounds like a good project for right now.

I have been very suspicious about just that, on top of the mod settings I always seemed to mess up, I was having 'no atomizer' issues.. @funkyjunky sent me a replacement threaded contact/connector and I soldered it on. I got some use out of it but wound up with similar problems. Probably because I would swap between it and a StemPod so it may just have worn out easily..

Quite happy with the sinuous P80, I'll be flashing it in a min to test out the unit

If you going to wreck the 510 again. Maybe you can try to hook the wires to the stempod base and tighten the screws.
I hate soldering. For hooking it to the Divine tribe herb atty base.
I gutted one of these and took out the metal screw terminals and got off without soldering.

the 510 connector is wrapped with metal that has only 1 tiny hole, but maybe that's why funky started creating 510 wrapped by wood? wood has a lot of tiny air pockets so it must be more airy and less hot "Device too hot" maybe?

I dunno how to solder things so I skip the procedure of replacing the 510 connector, but when the device is too hot i just use on-demand after few seconds of letting the device to rest :)

Nah, it is because the mods i mentioned have better heatsink for the chip.BTW RX 300 is like 400-500 grams with batteries.

I don't mind soldering, it's become part of my trade, and actually studying the heat dynamics with vaping probably has helped me take to it more naturally with a kind of familiarity.

That said these are a favourite at work, wago connectors. Barrier blocks are alright but once you've tried these they seem to become a solution for everything

I'm proper ripped haha, super fast turn around with my TUBOx. Flashed the firmware and at first it reported no atomiser - then it was working. All on the default settings I pumped it up to 50W and now I can use it and get great manual vintage results - ripper!!

I was having fun to test the limits and found them. A little smokey in here I overworked and smouldered the bowl, but I'm chuffed none the less. First time hitting this one for something like 2 or 3 years!

It's great to have a vape that can roast this full on. Pretty happy!

It's quite amazing how the heating pattern applied to the plant makes such a difference to the effect

On the Mod front, I purchase my TUBOx with a I think an RX300 gen 3 or some such. A weapon of a battery mod with four cells.
It ended up playing up to a point I considered it broken.
I've had a much better experience with the P80, although it is a single cell mod.

I see that you guys are having a ball here now that I revived this old thread 🤣🤣🤣. I just read moltentiger mention manual mode and wattage. Does it/tubo firmware support Temp control as well? Asking because I had a stempod si with only wattage control and o kept combusting.
