Yeah that's a nice setup, I am playing with a new HI right now as well... But yeah it sounds like one of those type of problems, so I would troubleshoot that way, before you try to explore the calibration thing... Good luck getting it back up and running, because I really feel like the TM spoils me very much!

Saw the post, I reacted to that too before seeing the post and that was actually why I decided to email TM. I'm waiting for their reply since it came to my attention that it has a 10 year warranty and hasn't worked properly since I got it. Got to try a friends TM a couple of days ago and after the first puff I realised there definitely was something wrong with mine :lol::lol::lol: that thing can chug clouds easily, and very tasty too. Got to try his side to side with mine, exchanged batteries and used the same herbs and batteries and was blown. Mine is harsh in every pull, it has a strong harsh aftertaste to any herb I put in, it doesn't heat evenly like his does on really low settings and performs consequently worse than my friends with the same battery and herb. We'll see if TM sends out a service manual or asks me to send it it. I apparently got a måndagsexemplar. Was f-up after doing the comparison I can tell you that, but good to finally see that there actually was something wrong with mine and I wasn't just going crazy or gotten extremely bad lungs.

Well sad sunday morning.. I just woke up and gently slided a fresh battery on my unit, almost the moment I screwed the cap in again I feel the vape getting hot and I see and smell some electronic smoke coming out the battery (no vibration or anything just vape getting hot and smoking...). The vape was with no stem no weed when this happened. When I turned it on again with a new fresh battery, my weed is not vaping even at 10. I can feel the coil gets a bit hot but not much. I also tried caliration but the vape wont enter on full vibration /set mode... Already emailed TM as i bought it late december.. will report with any answers. Guess my splinter Z takes over wake and vake.. Its very enjoyable to own various good back ups :nod:.

Well sad sunday morning.. I just woke up and gently slided a new battery on my unit, almost the moment I screwed the cap again I feel the vape getting hot and I see and smell some electronic smoke coming out the battery (no vibration or anything just vape getting hot and smoking...). Is there a chance it was a bad battery ? Was from reputable brand/source ?

Can you post some pics of the tinymights battery chamber bottom contact and also pics of the battery-poles (mainly positive pole) that smoked?

And did you put the battery in in a vertical position (letting the battery fall in) or horizontally (need to push the battery all the way in, not going in by it's weight alone)?

If it gets hot that fast without doing anything else but screwing in the cap, it sounds like the contact could have bridged the batteries poles.
As i mentioned earlier, the contact of the board is a bit eccentric of the batteries axis.

I always slide the batteries on a nearly horizontal angle but yes letting them fall in a bit. After the event batteries will go in as normal and unit gets on indicating batt level but as said wont heat the herbs enough to vape them.
Will post photos when back home

I have heard of this happening to to TM owners when they place the battery in backwards (positive side up). I hope it is not permanently fried, but I figure that TM will take care of you. That sucks though!

Once you see and smell the “magic smoke”, (term used by electronic geeks), most likely a DEAD SHORT somewhere, I wouldn’t continue trying to use that device. Get it replaced or fixed.
Doesn’t the TM electronics board have “reverse battery protection”, like most devices these days?

I had wondered the same thing, but I also don't want to test for myself. 😉

Thanks for the answers. Very unlikely that I have placed it backwards as I did not noticed when pulling out and never happened to me before... I wrote TM and hoping for the best...
I am sure you will taken care of no matter the case :) ! There are a few members which even bricked their devices out of their own fault and still got them fix at no expense. :)

Thanks Abysmal! Thats calming! A couple of photos of the contact in the vape. Battery poles are intact no marks or anything visible on any of them..

I have had one replaced that got super hot in my hands and was combusting. Not sure what caused mine either.

Improvement:

Your picture shows the ball that is now under positive prong that used to get pushed down and some including myself had to pull it up with bent paper clip. So accidental dropping/sliding batteries not as big a deal as before Since prong won’t move.

Sounds very similar to my experience Djsleepy, very hot in a sec and dead.. will ask for the new board, might be lucky

OK, the contact "prong" (is this thing really called "prong" in US?) is clean and not burned. And you said, there is nothing altered on the batteries poles, too. Doesn't sound like your batterie got shorted "mechanically".
So chances are high it was an electronics problem, i'd say.

I recently sent mine in for a different issue and it arrived with a new board without me asking.
Very impressed with his customer service. My unit made it to Finland and back in 10 days, and he even covered the shipping both ways.
How did you contact him? Via email? I tried through IG with no response.

No serial number on bottom lid , no new board. Confirm if new board is important to you.
When I sent mine in for repair it didn’t come back with a serial on the bottom. I noticed it was the new board when I got the multi color lights when trying to turn it on on the lowest setting. So it’s possible that this seller had a similar repair experience.
