@danjens you can be in touch with alan@toasty-top.com and he can make you a TM stem in the wood and length of your choice.

I do admire your good taste in using a TRRW acrylic mouthpiece/WPA. I have a few and love them. As far as I am concerned @RogueGuy hit a home run with these WPAs.

I wanted to ask how folks are cleaning the cooling stems that contain glass balls.

Cool, next time in need Ill be sure to contact him, would be great to have an Alan stem for the TM. Thanks for the tip

To clean, I take out the basket screen then pour hot water through them stem. After about 5 seconds or so the water will begin to run clear(time depending on cleaning frequency). I clean the basket screen in iso, then re-install and oil the outside.

There might be a better way, but this method keeps my boro filled stems nice and clean,

I appreciate all the answers guys, sorry about comparing with the mighty in this thread, since I was wondering about the two.

I've been reading for the first time about tinymight 1.5 on this thread, what would that be?

same TM with newer electronic board AFAIK
As an OG TM owner since March ‘20, my unit was repaired a couple of months ago and a new board installed. One of the big differences I’ve noticed is my TM now runs on lower battery capacity than before which is a good thing. Prior to the board replacement I hardly had any sessions on one battery level buzz, and now the vape is milking the battery juice a bit more. I can’t attest to other significant improvements yet my TM is running like a Ferrari now (again) and it continually shines at low temps, even lower than before the board replacement. Those Finnish elves sure know how to keep the magic going with this vape, even with repairs and new units. Cheers to all current and prospective TM users! :peace:

Here's another suggestion. Take off the stem holder metal ring and carefully insert stem into the device with rubber o-ring still in place. Once fully inserted, look at where the o-ring meets the stem. If the o-ring sits on a dimple, then that could be your issue.

So my medicated mind went into overdrive last night. I wanted to conduct an experiment so anyone can check if their setup has an issue with the stem holder o-ring. The only way I could figure out how to simulate an air leak (without damaging my stems or o-ring) was to just take out the stem holder o-ring. I used the o-ring to create a seal on top of the metal ring and pressed it down while hitting so no air could go through the top of the metal ring, and......

It's honestly a little hard to nail down, but refers to some improvements made over time from the actual original version. For example the button was made stronger and some solder put under the battery contact on the board to avoid it bending and losing contact. Maybe a few other things over time. I *think* people call those changes TM 1.2 and then the addition of a newer board TM 1.5, but I'm in this thread fairly often and I'm not even sure!

Tinymight OG or Mighty OG?

I've read a lot about both vapes, and I'm incredibly torn between the two lol. I already own a legacy pro, but I got the opportunity for someone to bring me from europe a second vape, and I'd give the legacy pro to my cousin who loves vaping after I introduced to him, but he only have a dynavap.

I'm worried about how fragile the tinymight seems, I can buy stems if they break but I'm more worried about the inside and things that could cause permanent damage. Is it really that fragile tho?

I love the ruggedness of the mighty, and I mostly use the session mode on the ALP (but thats because the on demand mode is not that good, even in max temp it wont fully vape my brick weed here from brazil lol, but session mode even in lower temps will fully vape it) so thats a couple of plus for the mighty. But I'm also very interested in the on demand mode of the tinymight, that also seems to have a good session mode. Can you sip for a longer time (like 3-5 minutes) on session mode if you want?

Both would be the exact same price! Which one would you guys get?
Fragile the TM? Not mine...they are made like TANKS. There is nothing fragile about my TM. My experience...my plastic MIGHTY? I worry constantly about that one...its plastic! When I take my TM out of my house it goes with the wood stem or titanium stem. No glass. I have the capsules loaded and I am ready to go. I find that the MIGHTY is like having air in my hand. I still use it but, rarely. The best thing SandB have made is the Volcano in my opinion...the balloon is life saving for me. I use it everyday of my life.

Interesting, but doesn't that just change where the seal takes place (above the stem ring as opposed to below)? Or is the idea that you could then move the o-ring higher so it doesn't seal, thereby simulating a o-ring leak?

Thanks for the answer, I like it that you have a mighty and talked about using capsules with the TM, which are things I'm having questions about.

Do you like using dosing capsules with the TM? I'm also going to use when taking my dog to the beach at night, so I'm looking into a vape that I can use capsules with it when outside. I got the vibe that 90% of TM users dont use or talk about the capsules so I don't really know if its good. You use and like them right?

And having a mighty and a TM you definitely would recommend the TM then? I'd pay the same price on both of them, just a bit more on the TM because I'd have to buy extra stems

I'm thinking of my next vape and couldn't choose between the following:

Tetra P80, TM2 or Angus.

Anyone with these vapes, can you compare it to the TM/TM2? Thanks in advance.

The TM is quite strong, but the mighty has no glass in it to break. The TM does have glass inside of it that has broken for other users if you check back in the thread.

Not sure why you think the mighty is more fragile lol

TM is tough, but it's a tiny tank. The mighty is an actual tank lol

I took out the o-ring just to simulate an air leak (don't do this step when troubleshooting). If your TM isn't working properly, then seal the top of the metal ring. If it works, then you know you have an air leak. If you sealed the top and TM is still malfunctioning, then you know it's not an air leak issue. Does that make sense?

I don't have a Mighty but can confirm that if you drop the original TM there's a fair chance the internal glass sleeve will break (note the TM2 now has substantially thicker internal glass to address this, so it likely is less of an issue with the TM2).

I dropped my regular TM and broke both an Upline taster and the upper glass sleeve, which is fairly easy to replace. But there is a lower glass sleeve too, and that is not typically fixable by the user (though I'm sure some people could do so). That's why we all have multiple vapes, right? Right?

This is typically frowned on in device threads. Easier to find and discuss in the Ask FC section:

.I wanted to ask how folks are cleaning the cooling stems that contain glass balls.

I received one that was DOA and it was promptly replaced. do we need to treat these stems extra carefully or is shaking with ISO okay?

Totally fine shaking with alcohol and salt, running hot water, etc, nothing to baby, quick easy cleaning (hair dryer can help dry them out afterward)

I played around with the broken stem using the hole as a carb and it was a different experience. I needed two hands, so that was not fun but I am thinking of ordering a TM stem with a carb when my turn comes around from GVB.

Has anyone modded a stem to have a carb?

I would not want a carb on a stem, because I always want to fully clear the vapor from the stem and heat from the device, does not feel secure to do that if you're just letting go of a carb hole to me

The main thing to acknowledge, Mighty is session style, it's making the vapor for you and you just puff on it as it does... TM is on demand, you hold down the button and inhale to create the vapor, let go keep inhaling to clear vapor and heat, much more efficient and more powerful, pure convection instead of a hybrid, so if that is what appeals to you that helps answer for you... Recommended aftermarket cooling stems, and or WPA with dry glass at home instead of the stock setup (if you want to try anything else or ask more broadly about these and others it makes sense to post in Ask FC or rather read other posts there)

See GY's post above, the differences should be apparent anyway, as Angus is nothing like the other two, being session style with dual batteries and china mass produced (also very new) with metal chamber in the device as opposed to glass stems... TP80 has glass on glass connection, digital control, different heater, very difficult to get currently so you'd have to wait for the next drop or score one used... TM2 has the analog dial, o-ring stem connection, more readily available with its different heater etc.

I love them both see. It is so just a matter of taste. Both are truly excellent. For me...I love my TM because I feel its a tank and I have dropped it and nothing apparently happened. I dropped it when I took it out of the BOX! It landed on carpet but, still. Anyway, I love being able to buy different glass for it and I love buying the Duba sleeves for it, etc. I can really HEAVY hit with it or keep the dial on two and sip. The taste is very nice. Not nicer than my LEGACY but, that is another story. I can depend on my TM. Do I like my vapes with the capsules....NO. I hate it. I don't know why...but, it does take away something. But, listen when you are out and about that is really the only choice not unless you are somewhere where all of this is legal, etc. Where I am...I cannot take out a grinder, etc.

I am older than most people here and I am retired early because I am sick and rehabilitating. I can afford to buy vapes. If I was not in that position and had limited funding and I needed a vape well, I would consider exactly what I own. I am new to all of this but, have done my research. I would tell you to look at: TM2, LEGACY PRO, and MIGHTY PLUS...if you have less funds and are more on a budget: ROFFU, PROV3...and for the home and table top: The Classic Volcano is all you need. Not all the fancier ones. The balloons.

I keep also, really tiny vapes for quick dosing at restaurants. Believe it or not I have a couple of the GDASH's around. It is a small crappy unit compared to TM but, it gets me medicated. I ask myself all the time...Jeez I need a different vape for different situations...just slowly buy them all. Good luck on deciding. It truly is exciting though. Unboxing something is the best feeling!

I've asked this before too but didn't get any responses regarding the capsules. I went ahead and ordered some the other day. My order page shows it has shipped, but I didn't receive any tracking. I'll let you know what I think when I get them.

I also received some 0.75" round stainless screens today. I managed to get 3 of them shaped and installed in stems, but it was not fun - bled from 3 fingertips, lol. Also, they are thicker than the screen that came with TM2, and as a result don't bend so nicely. It seems to leave very small gaps around the edge between the stem and the screen. I'm hoping the capsules work nicely so I don't have to do much more of this shaping baskets malarkey.

This is exactly why more people don't do it, there is so much variety in the type of screens you are using, and it is difficult to do it right, Delta 3D Studios used to sell an actual screen press for people to do it themselves, they might have that again available in the new year... I remember artisans would make their own basket screens and it's a whole thing, I'm fortunate to have plenty made by RBT and MistVape among others, Alan's are pretty great...

TM also has a session mode, not that I use it all that much, lol. On demand is my go-to with it 99% of the time but it’s a useful feature and selling point too.

Jeez I need a different vape for different situations
Indeed, there’s a time and place for different vapes for different situations especially portables.

Confession: I’m not bringing my TM on vacation tomorrow as I originally planned, and instead bringing something else which I just got. It’s not on par with the TM at all but it makes sense for this trip (and more stealthy where I’m going). It’s not why I recently bought it but for more flexibility with my vape roster, akin to a mutil-tool or similar, as you described. Cheers. :peace:

My point, was that it is not actually a session mode per se, it is just holding the button down for you, it is more of an autofire, it does not change the nature of the device, it is still an on-demand vape, not a session vape, hence I say that is a total misnomer

after 2.5 years of daily use, my OG TM's button is now kaput. reached out via email and instagram to try to start the warranty repair process. will wait patiently but eager to get everything started.

bummed as hell I don't have a heavy hitter to use right now! waiting for my CC Halo to be finished. it's taken everything in my power to not just buy a TM2...

I may have misunderstood here. You’re saying that this isn’t session mode as we normally define it, i.e. the vape continues to heat the weed even when you’re not drawing?
