TinyMight / TM 2

Could you make it sit flush by shaving a small amount off the other end of the screw? :hmm:

I.e. does this issue arise because the length of the screw is very slightly too long or is it a different problem?

As an designer of all crap mechanical, there is an easily overlooked physical difference between Philips and blade screws v. the Torx and hex drive. And it is not a little bit of difference either. The standard Philips flat-head screw diameter (theoretical sharp) is 5.6mm and a Torx version is 6.72mm and hex drive is 6mm. They each seat in the same cone so you might see how the bottom aluminum cap may have been designed for a Philips or hex drive screw rather than the provided Torx. I've been bit by this before; I don't forget. And I don't fault the designer in the least. And it is something I am perfectly willing to tackle on my own one way or another. Never been a purist in the way things are made. I just strive to do due diligence to make sure that at no time I accidentally set the thing down too hard on a piece of heirloom furniture, mine or yours. The TM has enough mass to dent a veneer. That I also know to be true just based on the cell's weight. It's a simple enough thing that goes along with "Happy wife, ... " ...you know the rest. Just shit-happening prevention. So my saying something is not about convincing me not to worry. I worry a lot when it comes to  I'm old... I do stupid shit all the time only to realize later how stupid that was :tinfoil: But if I can convince a designer to make a simple tweak and respect my perspective by doing something about it, now that is customer service. If not, hey, no sweat. I'm capable. Of course the rest of you don't have my limitations or neurotic tendencies, right?

Still not kidding about a felt pad for these as a product. Super simple product to produce.

So ... If I rough out a little bit with a 7mm bit in the existing hole it should be enough, don't you think?

Is the big o-ring sealing off the outer stem wall....or is it leaking air because of the dent holes do not line up perfectly all the way around to seal the stem off?

My gray long xlr stem will not work because the dimples are too close together to have a flat space all the way around the stem so the o-ring seals it off completely.

@dzoinp - No one has seen the bottom removed to know the limitations of making the hole deeper. That is a 90 degree countersink hole. I would take a different tact and head for the local ACE H/W or alike. They carry a lot of metric stainless steel hardware. I expect I'll be getting one when this latest run is fulfilled. Second thing I do will be pulling the bottom off to get to the bottom of both these elements.

Looks great, thanks for the pics! I'm curious, how's this compare to the included long stem with the cooling unit?

On a similar subject - what stems do work with the TinyMight? I'm not too familiar with the various stems, and wonder if there are any J hooks that'd work well, or anything else that'd help with cooling and flavor.

I think you could probably grind down the tip of the screw just a tad to shorten it. I don't have the guts to do it though. Anybody feel brave?

I've been using mine all day with my bubbler. I don't have a GonG stem that fits, so I just wrapped a bunch of teflon tape around the tip of the stem and that allows for a pretty good seal into my bubbler. Look ugly as hell, but it works, so don't judge me.

Ok for the record, I finally got a chance to email about my dial and the bottom torx screw. Response was very fast and helpful.

My loose dial is a newly found design shortcoming. New parts are already ordered and the best part is, the issue won't affect most units. I'll be disassembling mine when they come in, it doesn't sound difficult.

As for the center screw protruding, the screw length isn't the issue, the shoulder of the head is slightly deeper that it was countersunk. I'll also be adjusting that when it's apart.

Both of these adjustments were suggested and discussed with him and detailed instructions were sent.

When I have it apart, I'll late l take pictures and measurements. Get your requests in early, I won't post before I start, once that package arrives she's open.

You know I trust this thing when I leave for the weekend and only pack my GH and TM. They both serve their purposes so well.

i would be curious to know your thoughts on the grasshopper vs tinymight ... they seem to cover similar bases ... this might need to be a thread of it's own?

The GH is a one trick pony, it does that trick very well when working properly.

The TM is much more versatile, but doesn't excel at any one thing IMO, but does a lot very well.

Load size is a large win for the TM. But for small, fast, sessions, the GH is still a better extractor for me. The TM can do it, but it doesn't sprint like the GH, it's better at mid distance and longer runs. The right tool for the job at hand...

I'm lucky, no dimples in o-ring high. Honesty I didn't think about this problem up to now :(

I’m finding the opposite, that the TM is faster than the GH. I can finish a equivalent sized bowl in the TM in two hits that would take me three or four in the GH. Though grasshoppers change so much in efficiency from one device to the next, even one bowl to the next. I’ve been struggling to make a bowl last more than 3-4 hits with the TM even with slightly larger sizes. Not that I’m complaining, I love the speed of extraction and having to reload more frequently just means more fresh tasting hits.

OMG. I did a session last night and I was walking on the moon in 3 bowls. This thing is amazing and will save me tons of weed. I get higher with way less flower than with my Argo. Love how warm the device gets. Not too hot. The buzzing is a bit weird but who cares. The cooling is Nobel prize worthy. Super efficient for the size! Really happy with the tinymight.
Me too! I got higher than I have in 2 years and I didn't even dab. I thought the honeymoon would start to fade by now but it's getting better the more I use it! TM killed my VAS
