Hi folks
I have the sv evolution and have since day one seen one big fault with it, lots of heat is wasted and then so is power. The whole unit is one big heat sink and to much of the heat is dissipated. I wish that there was some insulation between the cart and base unit. and a longer "metal" stem under the heating core that the heat shield covered to preheat the air with the "waste heat".
I get high with the unit but only after drawing in lots of hot dry air. my home unit is so much better that I'm almost ready to retire the evo if I can not get it to work better.
as a side note I have the rev dart and lowe that one, it hits like a monster and is fast and efficient.
The Evo and the T1 are a bag of mixed emotions in my case. I finally figured out how to get decent hits out of both of them. It took some practice for sure.... Even though I now have it dialed in I still don't find myself satisfied for a number of reasons....
The Bad:
1. Full Hits.... Even the best hits of the T1 or Evo can't compare to my EQ or Solo. There just not in the same league of vapor. T1 is more like a super MFLB than a Solo and thats not a good thing.
2. Battery life is awful on the T1 and some what acceptable on the Evo.
3. Lack of temp control etc makes learning these devices much harder than it should be!
4. Taste: This is a tricky one. The T1 gives you more consistent flavor throughout the bowl. My Solo gives you much richer more concentrated flavor on the first few hits and then more popcorn. Its really a trade off! Do you like weaker flavor throughout the bowl or rich flavor during the beginning of the bowl. I really prefer the later....
5. Heat: The whole thing gets way way to hot..... With the solo for example the whole unit stays cool and only the very bottom of stem is hot. The TV my hand gets hot, my lips get hot, and my throat is hoarse from all the dry hot air I had to inhale to get a decent hit. The Evo works so much better without the Teflon insulator but its kind of scary having that hot metal unprotected close to your face. The teflon insulator seems to get keep the evo from reaching proper vape temps.
6. Smoothness: The TV T1 is 2nd harshest vape (behind the eclipse essential vaap) that I have ever tried. Because its pure convection and there is an abundance of hot air which makes the hits harsher than other vapes I am postulating. Pure convection without moisture seems to dictate this but maybe I'm wrong.
7. Lack of full extraction. I can take the ABV from my T1 or My evo and put in the Solo and get more medicated. Even keep it for the next day and hit it sober and easily get medicated in the solo. Who knows maybe its the lack of temp control circuitry but it doesn't seem to get hot enough to do full extraction.
8. Hate the switch. I love the idea of its simplicity and lack of voltage drop but I keep having issues with mine not working. Really tired of taking it apart. Had the T1 all loaded and ready to go to show some friends the other day and the switch wont work. Had to bust out the Solo, again!. The solo has some flaws as well, but being reliable, ease of use, and getting me medicated are not among its flaws.
The good:
1. Like the modularity
2. Love that its made in Cali
3. Love the support from TV here and at at shows
4. Love the build quality and the materials....
I certainly help Tim and The TV crew have the bar aimed higher for the next round. I want to support an American company using high quality goods and employing Californians and Americans, but I want my products to work reliably, be easy to use, and extract well. The Revolution fits this description except for power switch issues....
Thats really about it. I want to really like the TV T1 and Evo like I do my Revolutions/Darts but they make it so hard. I bought a ton of their products but they are not the end game for me. Too many limitations to really use as a portable. Lets see if the PAX or inhalator can do better (It sounds from early reviews that both of these might have the feaure set I am looking for).
