The mouthpiece burns my lips and it's very uncomfortable, I understand that it gets hot but I find it unusual that burns me, right?
Just checking, but (1) you're not using one of the metal mouthpieces are you, and (2) you are using the delrin sleeve with the mouthpiece inserted into it, not the mouthpiece directly into the evo core, bypassing the delrin sleeve.

Is it usual with FedEx ground to only show the shipping information but not showing it being picked up and delivered (until maybe much later?).

Shipped Monday but all it shows is that it received the shipping info, and its Wednesday. I'm wondering if I should just sit tight and it'll show up much later? Or should I ask about whats up?

Its in the initiated stage, not in the Picked up, In Transit or Delivered stage.

Anyone put the Evolution kit onto a Persei @ 6V???? how does it work on there?? How does it work in general in comparison?

Would just the cart work? Or is the kit neccesary?

If you have a persei already you just need the cart and the two 3.0v batteries, or you could get the lv evo and use your single big battery.

The power supply that comes with the tv kit is reliable and simple but I had to glue some sandpaper to the switch to keep my thumb from slipping...

I might just have to use the 10% FC discount when I see it available again. I'm not very good at waiting. Need to get one to help with the testing; it's not fair that you have to do all the work. :spliff:

Fully understood, time is money as they say. For sure few of us are getting younger waiting, and IMO TV gear is basically a lifetime deal, might as well be wearing it out sooner than later.....

Please don't worry about rushing based on the testing needs. PM me, I'll tell you where to send your stash for testing......

That's only because you balked at the minor surgery we had scheduled for that thumb. Too bad, really, the insert comes in handy when pinching bar maids as well you know......

Whoa, hang on there, big fellow! That's just one of the many ways, and IMO not even one of the top ways.....so there!

Still no update from FedEx. The only activity reported is, "Shipment information sent to FedEx." No pickup, nothing.

Is the package sitting somewhere unshipped? Or what has happened? I sent an email to sales but got no response yet.

Just wondering if I should worry or if it is common for FedEx to not display any updated information at all even if it is being shipped. Shipped Monday, has not arrived Thursday.

UPDATE:

Got an email response.
Due to the massive sales for the 4th of July sale, they did the shipping of the labels ahead of time and are working on filling those orders out.

So, its not like the items are sitting on a shelf somewhere waiting to be shipped out, they are already busy working to create more thermovape items to keep up with the orders.

Now that things are cleared up, I'm satisfied with the response.

I'm really interested in getting the Evo but i don't know what to think about the heating element.
If i use the Evo regularly, let's say 30-45min a day will i have to change it often?
Also,is the standard kit LV?

Sorry if those questions were answered somewhere in this thread. I read 15 pages of it with no luck...

Thank you people for your help!

Not sure what to say about lifespan except maybe that's a LOT of use. I doubt most guys do a quarter that (30 big hits)? They're guaranteed for 3 months so if they die at 100 days (worst case) that's still what sixty cents a day? A quarter that when/if the $15 rebuild policy ever gets off the ground (needs some demand as I understand it, there just aren't many failing for any reason, most replaced under warranty).

No Standard Voltage (SV) is six Volts, LV is 3.7. You can buy full kits either way. Unless you have SV stuff already (or plan to upgrade to T1), LV is probably a better call (a bit slower, but more battery life).

Great Scott!
I think my evo is going to end up going bye bye even after the power supply came in. I get flavor and abv but no visible vapor or effects. Might just be too little for my tolerance/me being spoiled by the T1.

Spoiled it about it, isn't it. IMO the tool for the purist. Evolution has a different target IMO.

For sure nobody in their right mind can make a case for your not having given it an honest chance....and then some. You gotta "love the one that pleases you" as the song says.

Good on ya.

Im sorry to hear youve had a less than stellar experience, especially when it comes to vapor production. Now that I have a couple of new sets of batteries I am getting a large amount of visible vapor everytime. The only problem I am having now is that there is so much that I can no longer take huge hits with it. My smoothflow and extended mouthpiece I have waiting at home (along with my PA) should fix that particular issue however.
Did you ever try running your EVO without the heat shield?

I also think I might give mine away or sell it... I like my Evo, but... the T1 is just much better for me.

let me know if either one of you end up letting go of your EVO, I don't currently have a portable flower vape, and would be interested.

TIA

Thanks for the comments!

I made my mind, went ahead and ordered a T1. It might be slightly bigger than the EVO but i really like the concept of it and all the options available. It looks like the right toy for me!

I should receive it by the end of the week. Can't wait! I will post on the T1 thread now...

I still like my Evo for certain uses, but I am finding that it really only works well if I keep the battery contacted for the entire session. The problem I am having is that by the time the Evo is getting warm enough to really provide some good hits, the thumb pad is getting really hot. I have to constantly switch thumbs, and even then they feel raw by the time I am finished with the bowl. Either that, or I just have to stop and let it cool down and then try again.

That all makes this vape not very user-friendly for me. I wish there was a way to just turn the heating unit on without having to hold it with my thumb. That would be a lot more convenient, a lot more productive, and a lot less painful. Any advice from users out there?

Pre-heat your entire unit by setting it on top of a log vape for 20 minutes or so. A coffe cup warmer would do ok, too I guess. I do this to pre-heat the device, requiring less work from the batteries to do the same job.

That's a really interesting idea, Stu. I will definitely try that, although it kind of defeats the purpose in a sense. I would be more likely to just use the log vape at that point. I like the Evo for stealth portable uses, so the preheat method would not really work for that.

While I understand your frustration, and support your 'right' to use your own equipment as you wish (provided of course you're willing to take responsibility for your actions, which I know you are), it's just not possible.....as it would not be safe.

Whatever you do, never, ever put maybe two dimes in the outer tube before the inner tube. That is if you're foolish enough to ever pull out the battery tube and drop them in and screw it all back together you'll notice it comes on as you screw the adapter interface (the bit with the switch) back in. All the play goes out of the slide and it comes on without your pushing up on anything. And it stays on until you realize the error of your ways, repent, and unscrew the adapter interface again. You might think you just invented as somewhat hot after use rotary switch, but you'd be wrong.....you didn't actually invent anything.

You might even find you can slip the coins out (and maybe in?) through the window so you don't have to pull the inner tube all the way out, just lift it up some....

If you burn the joint down I don't know you......
