VW, in general, is a better way to go, although VV is much easier to design and build (read 'cheaper to make.....). VW has the advantage in that it's not 'fooled' by the element shifting in resistance as it heats (most metals do so about 1/4 or 1/3% per degree C rise). This change can help limit ultimate temperature. TV products, however, use special heater wire that has basically zero shift (which is why it works so well with a simple battery/switch mod. VW and VV will give you basically the same performance with Evolution (and other TV products). If you really want VV mods I've got a couple of them kicking around, it was all the rage before TCR became the latest thing.
