Im new so bare with me. Dont know how to put in your responses.
To hoptimum, i noticed that, with the screw they had, it was pitting where it contacted the switch. Then, eventually, it stopped working. I had to fiddle with it to get it to work. Still it was intermittent. Once i switched that, i never had a problem with t heating up so long as everything else was connected. One other thig i had to do is since the screw tapers down, i had to replace the little ceramic washer with a nylon bushing(ceramic one broke and cant find replacements). Not the best but, for now, it work. No ill taste that i can tell. It hits like a champ now.
That sucks about the ceramic pieces. With the way i didnt the resistance wire inside, im hoping that they just dont break when im cleaning them. Otherwise should last a lifetime.
