Discontinued Thermovape Cera

I can lift up that circular black thing that goes over the button, the part i pulled off was barely attached, Is this battery dust? my cera still works fine just dont wanna use that battery anymore if its damaged.

The black disc is an insulator, it protects against short circuits against keys, coins and other metal stuff that might come in contact with that end (since the top contact is exposed right there where connecting to the shell would make for exciting times.

If you're very careful to keep it there (even gluing it if it comes too loose, don't plug the vents) and are otherwise careful you can still use it (the battery itself is still good of course). If it were mine I'd replace it (but might keep it for emergencies). Be careful when charging, the disc might peel back when you insert it.......

Is it the same concept with the AW IMR batteries? I had the same thing happen with my 14500 IMR except it was on the flat end. I just peeled it off(just the bottom part, the rest of the battery is still covered).anyway ive been using it as my main battery cause i figured one it goes bad id still have other ones that arent peeled away

I have. Pax but am thinking of getting a Cera. Although I don't run into concentrates very often so is it worth it for flowers? What's the units length ? Is it much bigger than the pax?

Are the units that are shipping out now do they have the illuminated switches?

They do not have an illuminated switch available. They don't have a latching switch either.

I don't have a Cera or a Pax but based on my experience with the T1 and the improvements Thermovape have made, I would say the Cera is very much worth it for flowers. Check out p.121 and 122 of this thread. There are reviews on these pages that should make you very excited about the flower cart.

The dimensions of the Cera are 1" in diameter and the length is 6" or 6.5" (someone with the exact length can jump in here). The illuminated switch was abandoned.

Howdy, Delphi. Fun name..... Some sort of oracle?

If I read you right you read this entire thread before asking questions (and may not in fact have any?). Super!

Welcome to the fun, now it's time to order one and really have the fun. Your timing couldn't be better, IMO, the Stainless ones are basically 'in stock' as you know......

Not sure what I did, seems it's something right....kinda wish I knew so I could do it again sometime.....

Thanks, looking forward to your contributions.

OK, who's turn is it to take Dreamer for another walk? Get to it, I'm about to post two more photos.....

A few days back Brother Pipes and I were indulging in some geek talk about PAs and stuff and I took a garden break for some Cera testing. During that reflective time, the proverbial light came on about bypassing the problematic strap as well as the switch. I suggested you could make contact with the underside of the top plate directly once inside. So:

In the background is a small power supply to run it with suitable ratings for the job. The adapter is installed in my Cera in the foreground. Over the top is the power switch (yes, it latches.....). Peeking out from under the heat shrink on the wires behind it is a red thing? That's the oft mentioned power on light (there's a power available light on the supply), IMO a must have in this application.

Inside, I indulged my Luddite nature:

I went to the hardware store this morning for a wood dowel (all organic), I figure it's about time to use something funky and natural? There's a coil spring around the outside of it retained by a copper pin with one wire soldered to it. In the center is a brass screw with a spring behind it in a well drilled in the end. A felxable wire lead comes out an angled hole in the bottom connecting to the other wire in the cord. The Flintstone Strain Relief (FSR) on the cord is easy to see.

So, once in place again held by my last recovered end cap (notice the dark color? Had to torch the failed switch out of this one too....) this time with a nylon washer since no connection is made. Both spring are held in contact, one with the plate, the other with the center pin on the cart when it's there. This means it'll work in a Cera with nothing but a body tube and screw plate (switch, battery, side strap not withstanding).

I want to fiddle with it a bit, then do some serious testing?

Someone please go get Dreamer? Stay with her until she's recovered?

Thanks guys (and gals) hope everyone else is enjoying the day as well. Time to go check out the garden again I think....work, work ,work.

The oracle of Delphi in Greece was the telephone psychic of ancient times: People came from all over Europe to call on the Pythia at Mount Parnassus to have their questions about the future answered. Her answers could determine when farmers planted their fields or when an empire declared war.

The Pythia, a role filled by different women from about 1400 B.C. to A.D. 381, was the medium through which the god Apollo spoke.

According to legend, Plutarch, a priest at the Temple of Apollo, attributed Pythia's prophetic powers to vapors. Other accounts suggested the vapors may have come from a chasm in the ground.

Your contribution (and others) to this thread has been so detailed it helped my decide to order both the LL and EO this week.

The amount of information in this thread is rare to find in a product that retails for what it does.

Fair play to you.

And fair play to TT for being so attached to things here.

And thanks to FC owners and all it's members for being the best vape community on the planet.

Now where is this 'banned' thread .....don't bother I'll find it.

Thanks PB, and saltway your correct about my name, did you google it ?

Beats me, but I didn't. It's where the Greeks went to ask the gods questions and just like today with Washington, never got a straight answer........

Fun to have you aboard, I can assume the name was not a random choice?

man if I could get concentrates I'd get the cera in a heartbeat. Even making my own wouldn't be cost effective all the "headies" are just mass produced regs, nothing special about it except its green and not brickweed

Not random no, it's just a name I associate with the word vapor, Iv'e still not worked out what OF stands for, maybe it's in this 'banned' thread, here we go, deep breath, page one, and begin.

The thread wasn't banned, it was closed due to rowdiness. You owe me a PM.

OF=Old Fella??? If so, perhaps the Cera may be a good avatar lol (maybe only other Aussies will get this - not sure if this slang is used overseas)

I noticed that the visible top ceramic heating element in my essential oil cartridge is crooked, so I poked it with a skewer and found that it's a bit loose. Is that normal?

I can't see your text with the FC Default Style theme... but yes, there should be a little bit of play with the ceramic wafer. I was cleaning my AVA the other day and the top ceramic moves around a bit as well. Same with my DART. It'll "cement" itself in with the oil once you get to using it. What do you mean "crooked" though? There should be little "chips" on two sides of it so that oil can seep through and the vapors can come out.
