Enjoying an afternoon with a book and my Toad
Love this one. Mine coming in Oct. can’t wait.

Beyond pleased with my custom pieces from @GoodVibesBoro. Absolutely sublime function and my Toad set up is now complete. Both bendy and hook allow 2 very different but equally pleasing results. Outstanding addition to an outstanding machine.

How do you contact good vibes boro or high artisan for a custom stem?

Hey Team Toad! Mine finally arrived the other day and excited to put it through it's paces.

Did you do any cleaning when it arrived? I'm using a wood stem, screens, and the high heater. Did you clean any of those first? Any burn off or anything like that?

Thanks!

Probably just run an iso swab through the stem and rinse the screens. When I got mine I just soaked and rinsed the glass and screens, then spritzed compressed air through the body in case there was any dust built up.

The quick start guide recommends a quick cleaning of the brass battery contacts, but mine were pristine and didn’t really need much.

This has become my favorite device to take when I'm out and about.
I use a wood stem, so I'm not worried about anything breaking.
All I need is the toad and a doob tube in my pocket. Easy to load and unload when done.
Bringing along an extra battery can also easily fit in my pocket (cased obviously).
And I feel like since it's convection, I can take a hit and come back to it later without the herb cooking while not in use in my pocket from conduction heat.
Really great product.

Hey guys sorry if it’s getting old but can one of you tell me the approximate dimensions of the standard glass stem Dan sends out with the toads? Still trying to get some custom stems made and I’m trying to get the length and OD of the standard stems Dan sends. Thanks in advance, everyone!

And for the placement of the o-ring, I measured that it was located 52/53mm from the bottom of the stem, the part which insert into the unit.

Do you guys/gals use balls? I'm loving my wood stem from Dan for it's durability. I added balls to it and after a few weeks, not sure I prefer it to an empty wood stem.
What about you?

Same-same except I definitely prefer the wood stem with balls.

(in real life I'm discreet and I never show off I think... but here it's become a pleasure to show my collection, it's crazy... sorry for those who can't stand it anymore)

I have a nice collection of custom stems... so I don't use the original stems anymore, with or without balls... I love rounded or flat tips t😁

Would you be willing to give us a breakdown of the types of wood in these stems?

@Hagbard Celine
sure, with pleasure!!

From left to right:

1- curly walnut,
2- pear tree,
3- two-tone African blackwood,
4- boxwood,
5- blackwood,
6- roasted curly maple,
7- a pin-cherry burl,

there is a pear wood capsule system on the pear wood stem. Dan made them for a short time.

the roasted curly maple stem recently cracked and is no longer usable.

@Duba
you know me well 😁, but not yet well enough 🤣
@farf is right, with these 3 new stems... the number of combinations is incredible...

i've already started to have fun!

as usual, i savor each piece, and i realize how lucky i am!!!
