The Toad from Morwood

Hey guys sorry if it’s getting old but can one of you tell me the approximate dimensions of the standard glass stem Dan sends out with the toads? Still trying to get some custom stems made and I’m trying to get the length and OD of the standard stems Dan sends. Thanks in advance, everyone!

And for the placement of the o-ring, I measured that it was located 52/53mm from the bottom of the stem, the part which insert into the unit.

Do you guys/gals use balls? I'm loving my wood stem from Dan for it's durability. I added balls to it and after a few weeks, not sure I prefer it to an empty wood stem.
What about you?

Same-same except I definitely prefer the wood stem with balls.

(in real life I'm discreet and I never show off I think... but here it's become a pleasure to show my collection, it's crazy... sorry for those who can't stand it anymore)

I have a nice collection of custom stems... so I don't use the original stems anymore, with or without balls... I love rounded or flat tips t😁

Would you be willing to give us a breakdown of the types of wood in these stems?

@Hagbard Celine
sure, with pleasure!!

From left to right:

1- curly walnut,
2- pear tree,
3- two-tone African blackwood,
4- boxwood,
5- blackwood,
6- roasted curly maple,
7- a pin-cherry burl,

there is a pear wood capsule system on the pear wood stem. Dan made them for a short time.

the roasted curly maple stem recently cracked and is no longer usable.

@Duba
you know me well 😁, but not yet well enough 🤣
@farf is right, with these 3 new stems... the number of combinations is incredible...

i've already started to have fun!

as usual, i savor each piece, and i realize how lucky i am!!!

All stems no toad...

Big shoutout to you guys for helping me with the dimensions for the stems! TSWooden did an incredible job with these and now I'm even more excited to finally get the Toad in hand to see how well the wood colors match it!

So TS made those huh? Mind sharing the cost and if more will be available from him. I gotta have 1 or 2!!!

They were 60 bucks a piece! I asked for some specific woods so it might be up or down a few bucks depending on what you have him machine. The bottom metal ring also has a screen set into it so it's more sleek looking than a basket screen on its own.

I actually had these custom made: I don't think he keeps Toad accessories on hand since it's so niche but his turnaround was less than a week. Just shoot him a message on instagram! Shipping from Singapore was incredibly quick, too.

is this thing on?
Today I thought I lost my sling bag with my phone and Toad in it. I think you can imagine how relieved I was when I found it hanging on my bicycle! That was close!

Are you all here take it with you on a daily basis like I do? Apart from the occasional anxiety that comes with it like today, I love this one on the go and I used it in the open everywhere inbetween.

I agree that the Toad is a nice out and about vape, even though being outside with a unique piece of art kinda raises my anxiety level a bit. Not speaking about the fact that where I live, police could be an issue aswell

Yeah, the Toad has totally replaced my FW7 for (uncased) pocket carry when I'm out and about. I like that the nature of the washi is that the design is buried deep, so even if it gets a bit scuffed up in my pocket it won't really be noticeable. Plus the battery lock out makes it much safer to pocket carry, too.

hey there,

I noticed that the wood near the oven has blackened :

I've been using it very regularly for 2 years, so this may be quite normal.
How is yours?

Mine is also in good use about the same time and it has not blackened yet. Interesting! How do you use it? I have the high heater installed. I do pretty short sessions, fast extraction of small loads.

Edit: Do you have a circular black ring all the way or just at one side?

Thanks for your feedback.
The black ring goes around evenly. I use high heat most of the time, usually preheating 5-6sec.
I'm curious to hear other feedback.
