To great surprise and delight, my cherry Elite has arrived! Here my Lil Walnut is introducing the Elite to the neighborhood.
It got here yesterday, so I've been playing with it non-stop since then. As a starter, a couple of nuances I'll share first.
There is a very different usage model between the elite and the Classic, at least for me. I am very used to the "self-regulation" aspect of the Classic, where my breath is more the control factor than the coil/switch. With the Elite, my breath controls how big I want the hit to be (volume wise), the Elite is doing all the hard work of managing the hit. LOVE IT! It is very repeatable, since the temp is the same, the wattage the same, the only thing that changes over the course of the bowl is how baked the flower gets, and that is what really effects how and when you change settings.
The Elite is the same beautiful craftsmanship as the Classic, is comfortable to hold - (something I was wondering about as it is a bit bigger than the Classic), and the hits I think are actually better than the Classic - having the computer managing the puff makes it cleaner. That's not to say you still can't char some flower (especially if you muck with settings - see below).
I have no prior experience with 510 vapes (or for that matter "programmable" vapes), so some of the discussion you all have is tongues to me. that said, I get some of it. In the tech support world, we used to have a saying that we would scream when we got of the phone with someone - READ THE FUCKING MANUAL!
I haven't. Still. But I will. Really.
Just because I haven't read the manual, doesn't mean I still haven't mucked around with settings. I have.
@HerbieVonVapster - thanks you for all of your knowledge transfer efforts - it slowly is making sense.
Mike, a few bits of user feedback as you are developing the supporting materials for this.
What impact do various settings have - like ohms, versus watts versus what have you? maybe this is something you don't put in the manual, but is there a primer somewhere that we can see how these various setting might impact the Elite?
Could we get a listing of what your default profile settings are set to in the user manual? and perhaps even what they should be set to (like what should the coil be?) I know I have messed up at least one of them when I said yes to it being a new coil on one of the profiles and now it runs *very* warm on that profile (almost combusted a flower puck using it).
Is there a way to lock down that function so it doesn't ask? Reality is we are never putting in a new coil, and I certainly don't want to reprogram it on the fly again.
It would also be helpful to have a list of things you shouldn't do (like respond yes to that question). Also maybe a quick matrix that says what setting impact what (like the coil thing making the unit/profiles run warmer.
This thing is incredible. I have a feeling my Lil Walnut is going to be upset.......
