Is there a better after-market Wand adapter?

After breaking the first one this week putting my finger through it, today I've broken a second one that I had rushed to my place so I could keep using it.
I use a small wooden dowel for moving the glass adapter up or down.
Pressing a solid stick of metal against a thin piece of glass doesn't feel like good practice to me. I support the adapter from the bottom as well.
I never need to move it anyway....

I'm back using a Dynavap and armoured cap to help me me dose better, but I use that on the position for the tempest and it works great.

On another note, I upgraded the tripod for my wand yesterday after realising the wand bracket fitting was the same size as the camera tripod mount, just a bit of fun.

I'm very keen on another option that still lets me see the VI if there's one available.
How are you doing it? Describe exactly what you're doing. Did you try different methods with #1 and #2?

The first one was my little finger trying to push it out - it fully shattered into a dozen different pieces.

The second one I was following the advice here - I was using the Tempest itself to try and push it out. It didn't slide out easily, and when I put more force on it a "wedge" very cleanly broke out of the top. It was nowhere near hard enough to justify a breakage, I was pretty pissed off.

The mitigation is that you can't really adjust the adapter, which sucks, cos I want to be able to use the Wand for different things.

Suggest you check my post above for the reason, and maybe try my suggestion using a flat surface to apply pressure in a more evenly distributed fashion, and avoid applying pressure to the inside of the flat end piece, which is the weakest part of all.

Oddly the link summary here is a different post to that I linked to, but the link still seems to work (it wasn't anything to do with charas! 😁)

They have blue ones in stock, just grabbed one. Funny since I have spent the past week or two churning through this thread, and occasionally, wistfully perusing the MH site, trying to will them into offering a Wait/Notify List function. I was wondering if I should set a calendar reminder for myself for "mid next year". Figuring I would probably forget about this thing soon enough. But something drove me to jump towards the end of this thread where I saw mention of them being back in stock. Lo and behold! I am not sure I would have chosen blue, but I'll take it.

I'm using my TM2 or milaana most days, but I do have a dynavap and wand that I use at times, too. But the idea of a portable ball vape is just too cool to pass up. I bought a Reload a while back to use with my other vapes, and love it... will be great to have the device it is really meant for.

Hey guys i apoligize if this question has been asked i plan on getting a tempest head to use on my revolve gen 2 glass sleeve and cooler and plan to use the device through a bong. I have a way to collect the reclaim that builds up on the revolve gen 2 glass sleeve and cooler which is why i don't need to purchase the whole device.

My question relating to the tempest heads since they are still available from the website is will there be any black Friday sale? should i hold off from buying and wait the month for a sale if there is one haha.

Can't see a sale personally. So far Brenyo has had more buyers than product since the Tempest was released.

If it was me, I wouldn't risk missing out for the sake of a few dollars here or there. Since the full units sold out, it's not crazy to think the heads will sell out soon also.

appreciate the sold info on this buying it now haha very solid points.

You're welcome. For what it's worth, I think buying just the head has massive value for existing revolve users. If you are coming from Dynavap, you will be getting a serious upgrade for a relatively small amount of money.
great to know! i love my revovle gen 2 its a beautiful reclaim catcher system for me i then take the reclaim and revape it!! cant wait to try tempest reclaim haha.

I do have a wand for my dynavap so i ordered the wand adapter and stand. I also ordered 1 extra ball screen I don't plan on removing them too often just maybe once every month or so to clean off. I'm not worried about discolored balls I'm more worried if gunk gets stuck to it hopefully it doesn't too bad since the screen for the balls helps particles not fall in.

edit: one other major question i see the screens for the flower bowl are those standard basic mesh screens can those be bought online in bulk from somewhere? id love to be able to toss the screens when nasty vs have to clean like my dynavap ccds its so tedious and small.

If you already have a Revolve and a Wand, then buying a Tempest head is a no brainer. You will get incredible value from it.

I wouldn't worry about cleaning. It's not that difficult. I just open the tip airflow and submerge overnight in ISO. Never needed anything else. I do that about once a week. Some people take the balls out and clean them separately. That's also an option.

Yeah the bowl screens are nothing unique. If you find the right size elsewhere you could buy hundreds and discard after use. That's how I use my Sticky Brick. However I personally keep the screen in the bowl, and submerge it in iso with the stem, and it comes out good as new.

oooo ok appreciate the good tips maybe ill keep it together when cleaning it does have a lot of parts but truly doesn't look too complicated haha.

If it's hard to dismantle, try using it to warm it up and melt the reclaim a bit, then once it's cool enough not to burn, just gently ease the parts out.
Best to have some spare o-rings to hand in case they get damaged doing this.
Personally I found the plastic test tube MH sell (and sometimes send parts in) to be great for cleaning. Remove head and bowl, remove mouthpiece and tube, drop the mouthpiece, tube and the main spiral in and add some iso to just cover it. Pop the top on and gently turn upside down and back a few times and leave for a bit, then repeat. Drain out the iso into a pot to later condense to oil (once you've collected a good bit), and wipe down the parts to remove the remaining iso, and use q-tips + iso to clean the inner sleeve, and bowl.
I hardly ever need to clean the head, but I use the wand on it's side so the 'pest isn't vertical but nearly horizontal - seems to stop most of the crud getting into the head.

more of a technical question as i puff on my dynavap and think haha. so does the tempest in a way have hybrid style heating? the reason I'm thinking this is because of the chamber where the balls are is def convection but doesn't the heat from heating the balls up linger to the bowl where the weed is warming the bowl up? is my though process right with this haha?

It seems to lean heavy towards convection.

cant wait for my tempest head to arrive each review i read is positive and boasts about flavor. Im such a flavor snob in my house of stoners. My dad is old school and does his joints. I used to be a bong user before my dynavap and loved the less harsh feeling. What I'm not a fan of with my dynavap is since is conduction heavy it roasts the flower too much to my liking.

thanks again for the help!

If you think about it, if the hot air from the head didn't heat up the bowl, you would be getting much vapour out of it.
What people mostly seem to describe as convection and conduction is really about how the heat is distributed. What's called convection relies mostly on the heated air to raise the temperature of the bowl and it's contents. Conduction is where most of the heat in the bowl initially comes through the heated metal parts, but it still relies on convection too to actually vapourise and extract.

The big difference as I see it is 'conduction' heating raises the temp of the bowl and surrounding metal parts before the hot air passes through, so less of the air is cooled down before it can vapourise the cannabinoids. This tends to lead to a more roasty hit. But that's all very variable from vape to vape. The 'pest focusses more on convection and even has an air gap between the bowl walls and the outer casing, reducing the conduction.

its crazy how informative dry herb vaping can get! thanks for explaining it very well def opened my eyes a bit more to the magic/science behind the device haha

Conduction and radiant heat are more than enough to fully vaporize and extract. This is easily demonstrable from any bowl that you don't hit, heated by conduction. Older pure conduction vapes did this quite plainly.

What holds true for cooking holds true for us. There is no need for any air currents to fully cook with conduction.

Heat is heat, it doesn't have types. Conduction, convection and radiation are about transfer of energy, usually expressed as change in temperature, all three are taking place in some ratio. Unless everything is at the same temperature conduction, convection and radiation are constantly interchanging.
In these types of vapes when conduction is mentioned it's related to bringing the metal of the bowl to a similar temperature as the ball-head so when the convection occurs (the drawing of the air through the head and bowl into the stem) less heat is lost from the convection current being cooled by the bowl walls and base.
Not enough and the weed at the outer edges of the bowl will not be quite so extracted as the centre, a bit too much and the outer edges overheat.
We've all got our own sweet spot.

Ah I guess there is no point in differentiating then!
Can you give a few examples ? I am curious about pure conduction vapes (and if this is not too much off topics ^^)
I thinking specifically of the cheaper pure conduction portables, but any conduction dominant vape will cook your weed for you while you wait, even if you don't inhale. I'm sure you remember plenty of stories of a vape left on in the pocket.

A new easy one to test is the Vulcan bowl for CC. You can see vapor rise from it if you just wait.
