Precisely, you can't differentiate something that's one thing.
You
can differentiate how heat behaves (i.e. how it transfers through a a material and across the junctions between different materials).
You also can't use a vape without convection, even if it's a so-called conduction vape.
The 'pest is quite clever here - by using a very thin bowl wall (minimum heat capacity) to reduce the need to heat the bowl by conduction, this makes the convection far more efficient because less heat is heat-sunk away from the air as it passes through the bowl. It appears engineered to focus on convection heating - there's the gap between bowl wall and outer wall of the heater where it's screwed on over the bowl, which actually reduces the effect of conduction when heating the head.
