Can I pay someone to make the Tempest in SS lol
I agree that the differences between strains are more pronounced the more pure convection it is. However there is a roundedness in the flavor I prefer when adding in some conduction. I will keep in mind what you mention about the effects, this is an interesting observation.I'm seeing a few people lately preferring more conduction to make the vapour smoother. I think that smoothness comes at the cost of the terpenes.
I tend to want my terpenes intact, more for how they contribute to the entourage effect of the strain. I recall when my main driver was the Weedeater with shovel head bowl. I would pre heat the bowl and it gave lots of conduction, but it felt like every strain started to taste and feel the same.
Agreed on all points. I'll also say I like conduction vapes. I just wouldn't use conduction all day everyday as it has this homogenization effect imo.I agree that the differences between strains are more pronounced the more pure convection it is. If I pull too hard and too often on a ball vape that works mostly through convection and is very powerful, I will tend to get a very distinct, hoarse and dry cough, not using any water for conditioning and filtration aggravates this. I get this on my SSV if I pull too hard and use insufficient water cooling, for example I will get this more on a globe than on a recycler, and I also tend to get this more if I lower the temperature, because then I will tend to pull harder to get more fulfilling vapor. With the Tempest I was also getting this cough when I was going crazy with the draw speed and using the mostly convection wand configuration, and now I find that with it leaning a bit more to conduction it is much smoother on the throat.
What I am getting from the Tempest is this: it is incredibly customizable, so much so that if the form factor agrees with you it is almost guaranteed you will find a combination of adjustments that will make it perfect for your taste. It is also great for the scientist who appreciates the ability to experiment with parameters and learn more about the impact these parameters have on the experience. Between wand adjustment, air intake, and cooling, there is a sweet spot for everyone it seems.
What’s the wrong way round … and why would it stain the finish ?So my dumbass put the Tempest into the wand the other way round. The part between the mouthpiece and grooves has kinda turned black. Vape still works fine. Would an iso wash fix it?
Just to add can anyone post some pics for the best way to use in the wand (best depth etc)What’s the wrong way round … and why would it stain the finish ?
Mad Heaters has great online instructions, complete with pictures.Just to add can anyone post some pics for the best way to use in the wand (best depth etc)
He means he put the mouthpiece end into the induction heater. The wand heated up the titanium and melted the inner plastic component. What’s the wrong way round … and why would it stain the finish ?
I hope you find someoneCan I pay someone to make the Tempest in SS lol

I've never come close to accidently doing it. But I guess it's something to watch out for.
Really anything with a decently strong and proper flame. Culinary torch works fine, same with my blazer.Hey guys!
what torches do you guys recommend for cleaning the balls?
also i was looking at stainless steel ball tea strainers on amazon anything i need to be careful about?
From my experience using the 'pest and the wand, but have never used any DV's with it...now I'm wondering if I should have gotten the adapter thing.
Maybe ask @Brenyo directly? If he doesn't know then I don't know who would! Was curious if that was true and how theyll be different?
I was watching a tempest video by a weed tuber and saw in the description that the next batch of tempest will be different? Was curious if that was true and how theyll be different?

I have the Tempest Wand adapter set to hold the heater on the deeper side of the range suggested by the MadHeaters Tempest instructions on the MH site. With it set like that the topmost part of the head, the Vi housing, is level with the red/orange plastic circle surrounding the Wand's 'hole' from the underside of the Wand, i.e. looking from the side of the battery compartment, not the display side.
You shouldn't expect to be allowing the top of the 'pests head protrude beyond that point.
