Yeah I don't know if I need to early adopt, pre-order, based on my current situation (doing great not buying much vap stuff at all these days) however I will definitely be in for one of these eventually, maybe next year if not before the year is out, depending on price etc. I do enjoy the TA Olive WPA I have, though I don't use it much, I can see tempest with IH being a pretty ideal experience for a lot of people, seems clear to belong in most any collection, to me best of this vap style?

No relationship. I was told on Friday I was being sent a test unit. I think I was chosen because I'm in then UK (shiping) I'm active on the thread and I recently purchased a Reload.

I've had no instructions other than to tell people what I think. I have not paid for the unit, but I presumed it is a temporary loan. I will be buying a full unit day one regardless, as it will be completed design with tuned indicators and ball access lid. Also because to be frank, there is no way I'm not sending Brenyo money for a vape this good.

The words im my review are sincere, and I'm so happy this thing exists.

...

I like it much more than my B0. So for me it's very much its own thing. I won't go into detail in comparisons. If anyone wants me to draw direct comparisons with any of the vapes I mentioned I'm experienced with, feel free to create a comparison thread and I will add my thoughts.

I think you will be able to clean the cap. With something like barkeeps friend. My advice is either to let it go and embrace the colour change. Or to maybe buy two tips, one for only IH use.

My advice would be to just have one and use it for both. My experience using IH and torch in the same sitting in a hybrid sense was mind blowing. The IH becomes the initial warm up tool. Then the torch just brings back to heat after a reload in around 10 seconds (using single flame midsize torch at around 80% flame length). I just think people don't want to miss that. It's one of the strengths of the visual indicator.

As I said in another post. This thing will be used like a daily beater. The performance, ease of cleaning, versatility and sturdiness attest to that. To use an analogy, it is a very nice watch, with a handmade swiss movement. But it's also a field watch, rugged, waterproof, and cries out to be worn every single day, whether in the office of on a hike. It's not that watch you keep in the drawer and bring out on special occasions. So embrace the full usage I say.

I didn't spin device when heating with torch. I found no need. I need to test more. I also haven't heated from cold start using torch yet. I've only used it to bring back up to temp. I'll do some more testing today including testing Boro balls and report back.

Brenyo informed the new wood and glass sleeves are complete and on their way to him. He didn't want to send me outdated versions.

My original intent was to only buy full Titanium, as I think it will give a slight cooling boost (Titanium absorbs heat better). But now after trying and finding the device has ample cooling, I can see myself buying wood and glass stems also.

Why do you prefer glass? I'm interested in your thoughts as I have no experience with the Revolve.
Awesome!! Yeah i think as you are only heating the balls you dont really have to turn.
At least that would make sense to me.
Im very happy a user that posts here a lot like you has one.
It helps me and others so much to make the waiting not as bad.
So please keep us posted with new findings and tests! :brow:

PS: Would love to see some videos and vape shots. Cant get enough of them especially with torch as i prefer torch for its power.

It is possible, but you'd need to replace 2 parts, both the SS layer and the end cap with the indicators.
I'll get some more of those with the next batch, I forgot this time unfortunately.

Not yet, but should be soon.
Awesome that would be great if i can replace them for a shiny new one without having to buy a whole cap!
Im sure many would appreciate that if they want to get another for IH use only or just to get it new and shiny again after a while.
Cant wait for this. I smell endgame in the air for me as a butane head.

I'm in the process of making some videos. It's not something I have done before so trying a few things. First thing I want to show is how big the clouds can be for DTL users. We have seen videos of it being puffed on like a joint, which is really nice way to use it.

I've been experimenting with the Boro balls tonight and it's great. Shaves more time on the heat up. With a torch and Boro it's a very respectable heat up time for the time of performance you get. With Boro you still have plenty of heat to fully extract. I imagine it gives a little less time for those who want to casually puff on it.

I can see myself swapping out the balls often depending on usage case.

OMG i am so hyped. Sounds like the Tempest is exactly what i was searching for. I own a lot Vapes, as all of us do. But i want something that is like a joint, that you can also pass around and that stays hot longer than a Dynavap. My Dani is way better, but also does not stay hot long enough. But i really like it more than my DV. Is it possible to compare the Tempest with the Dani Fusion so that i can get a feeling of how long you can vape that thing with one cicle?
And are there any new infos when one can order that beast?

I've been using it a lot these last few days. I'm typically a cloud chaser, who fills his lungs as much as possible in one draw.

I've found the Tempest is changing that. I'm finding I'm enjoying puffing on it like a joint. Something really nice about it. I haven't timed the heat cycle but it's always more than enough to fully extract. The tip stays hot for ages even when on a magnet since there is minimal contact area. So it's great to quickly reload then start another heat cycle.

I'm sorry I can't compare to the Dani as I have not used it. I have experience with Anvil, B0 which I feel are relevant to Tempest. I think someone created a Tempest comparison thread, so if anyone asks specific comparison questions I'll weigh in.

I made a video showing my flow when doing extended sessions. IH to torch. Then realised Imgur only allows 1min videos. So I cut it down in to two short vids.

First is IH hit. I fully extract in one single DTL (direct to lung) hit. This shows something I love about this vape, it can deliver big time for cloud chasers. Taste was amazing.

Second vid is what I call freestyle. Heating with torch. Taking short joint style puffs. The video has the beggining and end cut off, so it's not the full heat cycle. It will give an idea of the draw style anyway. You can be more casual than this, as the Tempest holds it's heat so well. You can toke it at the same speed as a joint.

I wanted to give some more reflections also since I've been using it none stop since it came. Someone this week mentioned "honeymoon period" and it got me thinking, and trying to determine how much of my feedback can be contributed to the phenomena. I've experienced loving a vape at first, and some of it fading as negatives come to light more. However i've become quite hard to please lately. I recently bought a Mighty plus after having fond memories of owning one a decade ago. The honeymoon lasted 12 seconds. I used it twice then sold it on ebay.

The honeymoon period on my B0 lasted an hour. It annoyed the hell out of me. Loved the hits, despised the work flow of reloading, pre heating, handling, needing a bong, needing to clean a bong, 10 min pre-heat up. You get the picture. It's an amazing vape and regarded as one of the greatest, but I just don't love it.

So I've been thinking about the variables that make a vape loved past the honeymoon. For me it's hit satisfaction, potency, ease of use, elegance, versatility, ease of reload, ease of cleaning, and the ability to be used casually through the day, or in a prolonged session.

The Tempest nails all of them. I'm past the point of using it constantly for the novelty factor. I'm using it all day because it's my easiest, quickest vape to use. I have it on my pc desk while im working, always pre- loaded (as re-loading is so easy) and when I fancy a bowl just press the IH on. Then I finished work and smashed 3 bowls back to back. I don't think there are many vapes that can smash 0.45g so quickly to be honest.

The hit satisfaction keeps me coming back also. The hits are huge if you fill your lungs. Because you are not powering a large bong like with desktop ball vapes, your full lung power/capacity is free to be filled easily. That huge hit in the video? Didn't make me feel like coughing at all, and it tasted amazing. And being able to switch it up and hit like a joint is just great. So much versatility in airflow, hit style, heat up style. So easy to take with you around the house.

So I don't know how long the honeymoon will last. But I'm pretty sure when it's over the Tempest will be dominating my reach test still.

@RedZep nice second review! Incredible hit in dtl video and great to see the number of hits on the second
This makes me look badly at the dynavap that rests in my hand 🤣
Yeah I love the big hits. Big ball vape hits, but I don't get coughing or uncomfortable heat in lungs like with desktop ball vapes. So I'm free to just enjoy how satisfying the hit is. Cloud chasers and flavour chasers ought to be very interested in this thing.

The second vid doesn't even show the full cycle. You get loads of little joint hits. I like using it both ways in the same session. It's nice for sharing as I find when sharing with a more casual user they are reluctant or unable to do big lung filling hits. So it's very freeing to just pass it and say toke away.

I wouldn't even compare it to a Dynavap to be honest. Just not a fair comparison at all. Different universe.

How is the "high" is it like a dynavap high? (Conduction? Please correct me if im wrong)

Cause i also have a xmax v3 pro and i can go through flower in the v3 like its air cause it doesnt give the right "high", i guess i want something that feels in the back of the head if u understand me correctly

This looks awesome but im gonna guess the price is 250eur +? Dont want to buy a vape in that calibre and then dont enjoy the high

Do we know if it works with the yllvape IH 2.0? Think i read something about they needed to update software a couple of weeks back

The vape sig is pure convection, but it's potent. No offense but it blows V3 and Dynavap away for potency. It's a ball vape.

You can heat lower on the tip to invoke more conduction as you please.

I'm a high tolerance user, who uses around half a gram in a session. The Tempest is hitting the spot very nicely. Whereas I wouldn't even waste my time with the vapes you mentioned. I don't say this to be a dick. Just really want to emphasize we are talking about different leagues in terms of potency.

Yeah i never tried a ballvape and dont want a "normal ballvape" at home with kids etc

All I've ever tried was the MLFB, v3 pro and the dynavap and all i know is the dynavap gets me more where i want to.be with 0,1g than i would be with 4-5 dosing capsules im xmax that should be around 0,5grams of weed because of the different characteristics of the high i get with the dynavap that feels more like the smoking type of high, but maybe that is just me

I go through 30-40g(ish) of flower and 5g(ish) hash every month not sure sure if im a heavy user to your or not but i try to stay as high as possible after work :)

I do want something that i dont need to heat up as much as i do in a session with the dynavap and i want this to be it, right now i use 2 dynavaps and go back to back

I sold all my dynavaps because it became too much of a chore for me. It took 3 hest cycles to kill a bowl. That's 15 heat cycles for me to get to my session high.

The Tempest holds its residual heat for ages after a cycle. Giving the next cycle a faster heat up time, meaning you can chain them back to back. I like going from induction heater to torch. It always fully extracts in a cycle also. Has more than enough calories. Bowl size is 50% larger than Dynavap also.

As a user I'm either casually having a single bowl throughout the day to maintain a cruising altitude, or i'm having a session where I'm looking to get profoundly altered. As I said earlier I've not owned many other vapes that can match Tempest for speed on extracting half a g. I feel it would beat a desktop ball vape even without factoring in pre heat. The only vape I can think of that would beat it is a sticky Brick (other brick vapes are available) but that is only if you had it very dialed in and could extract fully in a hit. I never got that good.

This pic shows the contact which will be touching the magnet. Crappy pic but you can see the slits. Very minimal contact on the magnet. And since it has balls, this combination allows it to keep it's heat for ages. I've touched the tip 10 minutes after a cycle and still felt residual heat.

I'm looking to buy a TA or tempest head for my aezhenn wooden/glass stem/pipe. Would I miss great fonctionnality if I only buy the head and not the stem ? I'm affraid I'll end up buying the whole tempest and a TA head...

I prefer it native with stem, over using it with glass. But it would still be great with just a tip if you are looking to save money. I've tried it in a glass J-hook using the direct flow tube which allowed me to bypass the cooling in the stem (mostly) and it was lovely. I just prefer the elegance of the native stem experience.

Just be prepared to probably get VAS for the stem at a later date

Asking if the tempest can really be compared to desktops such as B1 diffuser

That you are comparing it to desktop ball vapes at all is exciting however I simply can't see how the Tempest could extract half a g faster than the B1 diffuser head or the T360, and many others
Maybe you are right. I'm thinking of my B0. I'm factoring in bowl pre heat, multiple hits, stirring, heat recovery and reloads. I found vaping anything over 0.2 in B0 was less efficient and needed multiple hits and stirring. Also in this theoretical the Tempest has finished it's heat up in the IH before the timer begins (only fair if we are allowing the desktop's 10min of pre heat). So only the extraction, reloads, and heat recovery is a factor. Once Tempest is up to heat it doesn't take long at all to bring it back with a torch for another cycle. Reload in Tempest is also lightning fast.

I imagine B1 diffuser would win if the bowls are kept small enough.

I will do an experiment at some point and time myself with B0 and Tempest. Fastest to extract 0.45g

Thanks for the response. The Tempest up against the B0 is high praise.

The B1 diffuser with a shovelhead bowl can extract ~0.4g in 1 bowl over a 2 hits without stirring

Yeah in that case B1 is fastest :D
As long as it's already heated up anyway. I've never been one of those that leave my desktop ball vape on all day, so it's never quite felt instant for me. I only turn it on and warm it up for extended sessions.

But yeah I can confirm the Tempest being compared to B0 for lengthy sessions is not crazy at all. Being able to reload in 10 seconds, and bring back to heat in 15 makes it a contender. Never any stirring and always extracted in a cycle.

It is a great point to know it doesn’t need any glass. I think the chance to kill a bowl fast in native is necessary in a portable.

Maybe it is not the same than a B0, because it cant hold that amount of herb in a first place. But if you don’t need such amount of material it can be better for you. @RedZep can it be the same comparison as the anvil with the flowerpot?

I really asked you if the difference between the tempest and the b0 can be similar to the difference between fp amd anvil. But there is a thread for comparisons! :myday:
