Not just you. I agree.
Sure, its interesting looking...but it seems like a waste of time. money, and hard work.
Just seems pointless, besides....im sure those Roor fools are combusting out of it ;)

"back in the day" as a they say we went thru a few 6 footers. i called 'em "lung cleaners", as i'd cough up every piece of mucus in there every time. the worst one was plastic and was two inches wider than your mouth it had a reducer at the top so you could close the gap. 3 in a row was my record, hitting a .5 gram bowl each time. aahh, the things you can do when you were young..... i also remember drinking a fifth of vodka and somehow surviving, i only weighed maybe 140 lbs at the time so i got lucky. if i did that now at 170 i'd probably die

I used to be able to drink back in the day...:smug:

Now I just get a rush from dabbing budder while hitting herb at the same time in the sub.

as much as i hate getting older, wisdom and a reasonable tolerance are good trade-offs
yea, the dual usage aspect of this vape really has me intrigued. i am personally probably going to wait for a better stock controller, but for a first run this thing seems to be pretty epic. but you never know, that itchy finger sometimes wins out.

Yeah, I enjoy things alot more now that I actually take the time to savour...rather than just live excessively. Definitely a great vape with room for improvement...but that's par for the course with any new launch. I'm impressed you have held out this long, especially on the nail. :spliff:

Fuck fuck fuck fuck. Now I have to buy another vape. Time to start saving.

lol , it's taken alot of will power for me not to buy anymore vapes at this point. It really is a disease

Ok, so I have had a sublimator adapt - a - bong in my possession since last night and wanted to give my first impression.

As far as build quality I cant say much as the thing is fucking pure steel. When I first saw it my initial thought was that Enrico must have played with Erector sets as a child. :D There's no cheap or plastic materials involved so in this department I have no issues. If I had to say something, I felt the sub sticker on the power cord was a little cheap looking but it's totally irrelevant. It's just me being a Jew and feeling compelled to complain! :brow:

I was able to manage not to combust or burn myself all night. Based on my reading here in the thread and videos I've watched I found the piece relatively easy to use right out of the gate. I ran 6 sessions since last night and I was able to maintain nice even dark brown ABV throughout the evening. I kept the dial set between 50% and 75% of full power to get hits that worked for me. On the positive side, it does what it says and hits like fucking Mike Tyson. Nice, thick, and dense vapor filling the chamber about 1/3rd of the way. I did notice I ran through more flowers last night than usual, but this alway's happens with a new piece. I enjoyed the flavor it offers and the delivery was all in all good.

Now, with that being said. For my personal use I don't think the sub is for me. I have kids running around and having a hot piece of steel laying around in no way is ideal in my house. Had I been a bit younger and living alone I could see this thing being allot of fucking fun with friends and crowds. Comparatively against my cloud or HI I believe it lacks. The hits, although plentiful seemed more heavy and bulky as opposed to what I consider a more medical and cerebral (IMO) with my other vapes. Again, IMO the sub lacks the elegance of the cloud or the HI and seems to me more like something out of Mad Max. Even somewhat spoofy.

I can't say much more since I'm only 1 night into my research. And plan to do some more playing. I definitely see this being popular with a certain target market but for me I cant see it in my collection based on my situation.

I now what people are going to ask as I already got a few PM's on it - is it as good as the cloud? My answer would be very respectfully....

No.

Enrico, congratulations on a very cool device -- she hits like an axe murderer and there's a ton a folk's who are going to have a blast with this. Good luck on your venture.

Afternoon guys! Checking in to give some impressions of the Sub:

So I have had mine for about a week and I wanted to wait before posting so that I could give a really honest review. So lets get started...

Initial impressions: Placed my order with PV and received it very fast and securely packaged with some nice snacks included (gotta love PV!) Upon opening the package and un-boxing my first thought was....is this it? This is what I paid $500 dollars for?! It seems like a very simple device and at first glance a person might think that it is not worth the price. As others have stated, the brown cord does give it a kinda cheap feeling. Reminds me of the old brown extension cords that we used back in the days. But in the end my friends its all esthetics really as the looks have nothing to do with the actual performance of this thing.

Preparation: As I have been closely following this thread and the experiences of other users, I proceeded to do the following. I used a Q-Tip dampened in iso to clean the upper vent holes on the Apollo. A lot of black residue came off of the holes. I then soaked my bowl/atomizer and screen in Iso to clean and proceeded to do a 30 minute high temp burn off. As others have mentioned the stock screens were a bit frustrating to get right but once I had it fitted it was perfect. I had to slightly bend it to make it fit into the bowl just slightly below the upper lip but it stays in place and the load comes out cleanly in a puck every time. Pretty simple device as far as parts go.

Usage: I am glad I waited to post a review because you really need some time to get to know this device. Long story short...I broke one of my favorite glass pieces. I know what your thinking. This thing is not the adapt a bong but more like the kill a bong!. You would be wrong as it was totally my fault. Let me be clear....the Sub is a serious device that requires your serious attention. Let me explain.... So here i am getting to know my Sub and enjoying the experience. Like a Moth to the flame I was tempted to touch the Bowl/Atomizer (I'm sure all sub owners have had the same thought  )... needless to say there was some scorching skin followed by me jumping up and knocking my bong over and breaking the DI joint (thankfully repairable). Again totally my fault but those first Sub hits had me on another planet.... As others have done I have marked my dial and have found the sweet spot. Once my Kill-a-watt comes I will report the actual watts I'm using.

Performance: Top Notch! I have heard all kinds of comparisons but i like the one about the manual transmission sports car. And not just any sorts car like a Lambo/Bugati type super car. It will absolutely go 200 MPH if you have the skills to take it there. But beware that it will run off of the road and lose control with the wrong driver behind the wheel. And if that happens you will crash and burn....lucky for you in this scenario you get to try again. And trying again with the Sub is a lot of fun! Anyway, sports car analogies aside, this thing extracts fully and completely and fast! Also I am noticing different effects from my medicine. It now feels more balanced. Sativas are not overly heady and Indicas are not overly couchlocky. The overall feeling appears to be more clear headed.

Comparisons: I know a lot of people are wanting to know about how this performs compared to the Cloud. I will give my honest opinion here. And I should note that I am a Cloud fan and supporter. Ok, both are very heavy hitters in the medication department. What sets them apart in my opinion, is the taste and smoothness. Cloud wins on taste every time without a doubt. The Sub wins on smoothness and effort in extraction. The extraction is effortless and you barely feel it dry or with water. Dry hits are perfectly doable without issue and water hits are totally effortless. I also notice that the Cloud makes me cough and I have a certain level of irritation in the chest that's not there with the Sub. I will likely keep them both but the Sub has been my DD for the past week.

So all in all guys I am liking it a lot! I don't know what goes into research and all that Jazz but in the end I am happy and I think that the Sub is worth the price. I own a lot of different vapes and this to me is a new experience... I'm sure that Enrico and team will build upon this but I think that the technology works very well.

I was pulling your leg for the compliment on her review and not mine.

Unless of course you thought my review blew... (I am just a terrible writer)

Lol, sorry man, I didnt even see it. It's getting hard to keep up with this, the cloud and now the comparison thread. Good job not burning yourself, I'm a klutz. I have a few battle scars. Sorry for not showing you love, lol.:love:You're review was equally good.

Great Scott!
So whats the consensus on the effects from this thing. Do most people agree it is more of a head high than body still? I'm really after something that will obliterate my body and pain, yet not cause my anxiety to go through the roof.

Alright, so again I've been playing some more and I am getting pretty good at this. It is all about the positioning as far your set up. Properly placing all your tools and meds in the right place is super important with the sub. Once you find your personal set up liking you'll find yourself speeding up with your movements and things start to flow better. I noticed some complaints in the past about the lower part swelling from the heat and breaking glass when left in a Gong. I didn't find this AT ALL. There's the stand - between hits the heater should NOT be left in the bong it goes in the holder. If you let it sit in the lower part in your bong then I could see expansion being an issue.

Secondly - THIS IS HUGE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE CONTRACTED GAS! Use a piece with a wide base otherwise your knocking your shit over. Wide based pieces like black leaf shit will be perfect for the sub. If you don't have something like this than find a way to anchor your glass. I'm using sticks' sub and he's put two screws in a piece of wood that when using the sub he could slide his glass between those two screws and it holds his glass down like my job holds down my future! (IMO opinion it makes sense going for the deluxe set. He learned the stuff I'm telling you about in R & D, his set up will be perfect!

Third - if you juggle the heater to somewhat variate the heat it adds so much to this vape. I almost use the sub like an upside down log if you follow me. If anyone uses a log than you understand how you toggle your stem when utilizing a direct draw method to variate heat. This in essence helps by controlling your vapor density. It's a technique that's very easy to learn, if anyone needs help feel free to PM me or if your up to it ask your local neighborhood hooker. They know how to toggle tubes.....

That was my favorite way to smoke for a long time. There was a good 2 year period where I almost exclusively used standing water pipes. You can take huge rips and clear them easier. It is how I trained myself to take such large inhales. The long tube gives the smoke expands and cools some before it enters your lungs. I felt like it gave a smoother hit and allowed me to take bigger and larger snaps as my lungs got used to the intensity. I used a BBQ lighter to reach the bowl so you can light it your self... then because you can't reach down (to remove the bowl) you are sort of committed to trying to clear the bowl. The only reason I quit is because my glassblower stopped making tall 6 foot water pipes... that and it is also hard to use a vaporizer on a tall water pipe.

Keep the heater in the bong and atomizer because you want the atomizer hot. I don't think expansion is an issue breaking bongs. I think swinging things around in a delirious state could be ;), but not expansion. If anyone differs and has had a bong break due to expansion, sorry I missed that part.

Expansion can cause the atomizer to get stuck in a bong, but that's back to normal once cooled off - just the teflon expanding a bit I think. I only use the Apollo bay when I'm loading the atomizer or when I turn it all off.

You've got to let the atomizer get really hot in order to fully get the Sub experience IMO. That's how I do it and haven't had any breakage using two different bubblers.

What 'I' have found that FIRST hit nails my head and keeps climbing, then peaks out and relieves my body pains (for me, about 20mins).

So far it hasn't freaked out my anxiety to the point of total uncomfort zone.

I suffer from body pains following to major MVA's, have major depression and violent anxiety. I've felt the Sub is treating me well, but can't compare it (nor its effects) to ANY other methods or devices I've EVER used. It's a totally NEW experience for me AND I'M LIKING IT SO FAR :ko:

I've had the cloud give me violent shake panic attacks before, not seizures, but thats what it feels like at the time. I do NOT want this to happen with any vaporizer lol.
