A quick review of the stunner
First off yes it looks like the TA... we get it. The Dyna, BFG, Camouflet, vestratto, tasty tube, terpsicle, quarts cap, ect all look very similar as well...
I'm really enjoying this iteration on butane vaporizers so far! Our friend
@tinctorus at MGVsolutions did a great job putting this beauty together. Locally machined and verified all materials. He is more than happy to discuss this if people have immediate concerns. Now that the 2 biggest topics that are important in their own right but have been taking focus away from the function of the vape have been adressed onto the meat of it.
My initial impression of the vape is that it's built solid and the learning curve isn't much to speak on. The bowl holds around .2g and is convection heavy but does have some conduction due to being made of metal. I feel conduction becomes more prominent if you do multiple bowls in a row, heat towards the base or screw the top on to far.
The stunner comes with the option of sic, ZrO2 and ruby filled tops. imo the sic holds heat and distributes it better than the others. ZrO2 gives the best flavor but doesn't hold the heat as well. Ruby is the middle road guy as always.
A quick fire up guide.
1. Load bowl to a medium pack with tamping
2. Thread top on and turn 1-2 times. It doesn't need to be flush by any means and functions best this way.
3. 20 second heat time. Rotate the unit slowly and heat the top half only.
4. pull 1-2 times and reheat for 5-6 second intervals until desired temp is achieved. I give it 1 or 2 pulls to warm up like with the quarts cap/terpsicle.
5. Enjoy
The abv after the pulls on the video was hardly toasted and had another 3-4 of the initial strength pull left. I will be putting this little beauty on a j hook for pipe tobaccoo feels after work or when I just wanna relax. It's also more durable than my all glass units and would hold up well for rrrrrips in the outdoors.
Experimenting with IH next
